      I have one planned, just trying to see what I can fit in before Christmas! I swear time moves quicker in December 😅
      I expect it will be coming out early Jan though 😊
      Something so special about knitting with handspun yarns.

    Hi from India! I love your podcast ❤ Another nice thing about the Tussar ghicha silk is that the cocoons are collected after they've been discarded, so no creatures get killed in the production process!

      Hi! Thank you so much. Yes, you're absolutely right- I should have mentioned it, the raw silk production seems to be much more gentle on nature ♥️

    As a person from the Northern hemisphere I'd still like to see summer knits. Particularly because that very thin yarn usually takes a lot of time. Also, I like having the extra time to plan and dream of warmer days :)

      @blackcatknitco  18 дней назад

      Yay! Definitely planning a summer video soon- I think it will likely be coming out in early January 😊
      In some ways, it would be a good idea for us to knit summer tops throughout winter so we can wear them once summer comes!

    I like your plan to finish up some wipes and start the new year with a (semi) clean slate 😂 I’m on board and going to focus on finishing 3 or 4 of the 6 I have on the needles. This way I can cast on the shawl I’ve been anxiously waiting to start. Thanks for a great episode!! Happy Knitting 🧶 Kathy from Massachusetts ❤

      Glad to have more people doing a frog or finish- it always feels so good!
      I will also be following up all these wips with a new shawl cast on in the new year. Something to look forward to!

    Hi Alana
    Another lovely podcast, thank you.
    I love your summer top, so much so that I’ve just ordered some of that lovely silk yarn in navy for a similar pattern.
    I’ve just finished the Bee Beautiful top by Pia Trans in Yarn Floozy Ambrosia…..such a beautiful yarn.
    Love the idea of having a clean slate for the New Year! Although that would mean I would have to finish my Birkin and Cloud sweater and a pair of socks and a baby cardigan so maybe not 😂
    Can’t wait to see your summer tops podcast, that will be really inspiring 😊

    Hi Alanna!
    It's always so nice to catch up with you! I've been meaning to pop in the shop for ages but been busy with this and that. Your bunny looks just soooo cute!! Oh I have the biggest FOMO :) I was so going to start it right away but got distracted by gnomes - totally Kylie's fault hahaha.
    But seeing yours really made me want to make one so bad! And only 11 grams! Wow!
    I love the idea of a shawl KAL - i've been wanting to make the Aurora cabin for so long! But i think i need to finish the twists and turns first probably :)
    How lovely to have sit and chat with you while I'm making tiny i-cord arms :)
    Have a lovely week!

    Such an interesting video, Alana. I love your wip, it's gorgeous! I bought the pattern for the bunnies but I have to finish birthday/Christmas items first, so I will be doubt it on the new year. Frog it or finish is brilliant but also scares me! But I don't have that many wips, sort of!

    I like the idea of your frog or finish. I planned for next year to take apart the first sweater I ever made and remake it. The neck is just a little too tight and about an inch short. I never alternated skeins and I have a whole skein that matches. I'm actually really looking forward to it.

    Thank you for another great podcast. Truly inspired by the Nibbles toys. Our LYS Knit Group has been doing a secret KAL where we are each making a toy that will be revealed this Thursday night & we each guess who has made which toy. The toys are going to be gifted to the Nest Collective. I would appreciate a future video for inspiration of summer top knitting. Currently knitting a Truly Myrtle test knit summer top (to be revealed tomorrow) & Truly Myrtle Urchin (without the eyelet detail) in a boucle 4ply from Yarnfloozy.

      The tops you're knitting sound lovely and I'm sure the one in the boucle yarn is especially cool- I have been meaning to try the Yarnfloozy boucle but haven't made the time just yet... Summer video will definitely be coming! Hopefully early January

      Honestly I have no idea... it came as a surprise to me. Part of it is probably that I own a yarn shop so we've built up a big newsletter subscribership over the last (nearly) 6 years and we sent out an email when we launched the podcast. Other than that I am just considering it good luck and really appreciating everyone 🤗

    Hello, love your videos. Great job , you are flying through your WIP’s. So happy you didn’t frog your sweater. you are a beautiful knitter. Loved the little critters. Can’t wait to see your next video. I love your color work .so you’re inspiring me we have one knit shop that just opened in Augusta Georgia USA. Any suggestions on my first color work to cast on my needle?

    • @blackcatknitco
      @blackcatknitco  18 дней назад

      Hi! Thank you so much for your lovely comment. I would suggest for your first colorwork to just pick any colorwork pattern that only uses two colours, it's a bit easier to manage. Also I would use a nice woolly wool- non superwash is nice for colorwork although it doesn't have to be. Also my biggest tip is to stretch out your floats! It's better if your floats are leaning towards too loose than too tight, because they will settle in with blocking, but if they're too tight there's nothing you can do.
      I hope that helps!

    I really like the way you make the eyes for your toys, I have always made mine with french knots and they can be a bit tricky to get right. I have recently made 2 summer tops and would love to see the ones you have made and recommend and which yarns. I'm enjoying knitting for year round rather than just winter woollies, thanks again for another fab episode.

      I'm so glad that was useful! I've never done a french knot- I don't really know any embroidery, although I'd love to try it someday.
