- Harley-Davidson released their 4th Motorcycle in the Icons Collection with the Hydra-Glide Revival. Modeled after the 1956 Hydra-Glide that introduced a Hydraulic front telescopic fork (1949). This was a much more advanced suspension system for the front end. This is also a popular bike with the vintage motorcycle collectors. H-D chose the Softail Heritage Classic as their starting bike and outfitted it with a lot of period-correct style points. The Icons are a good way to celebrate H-D's past and to ride with a sense of nostalgia.

I just bought this bike, I love the nostalgic style, I’m an old school guy, I named my bike🍒CHERRY🍒 back in the 50s Cherry meant mint condition, and my bike is CHERRY RED, so the name stuck.

I work at Buckeye H-D in Dayton Ohio and our Hydra Glide was sold in about 2 hours of hitting the floor

The heritage does not get enough attention! It is such a versatile bike and it is especially great for smaller riders and is more than capable of doing long distance touring. My 1997 Heritage looks VERY similar to this one! My Heritage has a studded leather 2 up with medallions and tassels. Heritage Classic indeed!

I love my heritage and saw this bike at my dealership yesterday and gotta say harley did a really good job. Not my type of bike but a great way to take a new bike and make it styled like an old one. You did a good job of presenting it. Harley needs to hire you for their advertising team.

Thanks for the consistent and excellent reviews. This one is no exception... The more I look at this bike the more I want it. Damn it. Lol. I always tell my wife I should have been born to live my adult life in '50s and '60s cuz I love that era.
What a beauty, it will be the highlight of any showroom. Elvis Presley owned a 1956 KH with windshield, it looked very similar to the Hydra Glide, and it was one of his favorite bikes in the fifties. Your fathers knowledge is awesome.

Very stylish. I know some old timers who adore these paint schemes.
If they don’t like the model or colour/paint they stick to talking mechanics and stay pretty quiet overall.
If I rode this one around the back there’ll be no shutting them up. 😂
I snagged one. I can't believe it, but I snagged one of these. Heritage is my favorite style of Harley. Old school Harleys were my favorite, so I couldn't believe they made an homage bike to my favorite biker era RIGHT as I was ready to buy a Heritage. Loving it, I hope the old school motorcycle style lives forever.
Hey Matt, I like the bike. Also great ride along videography as always. I like the riders position sitting in the frame along with the mini ape hanger bars. Another great Revival bike.

I love it! One of HD's best efforts yet. Tank badges look like 1955-56. Matt, get yourself a copy of HD's book "The Legend Begins" a year-by-year review of all Harley-Davidson models from 1970 back to the beginning. A copy belongs on your desk.

I love the looks of this bike. I like all the icon bikes, but this one has the most comfortable seat of any of them. I have an 18 Heritage Classic Anniversary Edition and it is just too hard to justify trading it in just for the looks. If I could do it for $3,000 to $4,000 I might consider it, but I think they would want closer to $10,000 difference. If I was buying straight out I would definitely pull the trigger on this one. I think it would look even better with a set of white walls.
I got mine #25. Doing a stage 2 with a torque cam right now. I’m keeping the style as much as i can and im also installing underglows, better grips, LEDs that matches the original amber, then getting it ceramic coated

That dude with the long hair looks like an old school biker. My hair is almost that long. When you walk into a Harley shop with long hair people look and I get more respect than having a flat top. Matt, let your hair grow out and grow a goatee.

For a lot of guys (like myself), Harley really hasn't sold anything that would compel me to trade or sell my current bike. I don't just like my old bike, I *love* it! This is a big problem: How does Harley get us "legacy" riders onto a new bike? The Icon series was a brilliant idea. They should have made more of each model though.

I rented a Heritage Softail with the 114 for a week last year. I was ready to trade my street glide in when I was done. Only complaint was the bags are cheap but Hogworkz make a hard bag mounting kit so that could be improved quickly.
I saw the bike at Daytona Bike Week. I love the nostalgic look. I own a Heritage and you’re right, the Heritage is very comfortable.
Really neat motorcycle! The only thing it needs in my opinion are a nice set of whitewalls.

Bought a 1958 style Harley. That was my FLD in 2016. I'd be tempted if this had a buddy seat. The Heritage is built.for people who tell you "follow.the yellow brick road"

Thanks Matt for another awesome review. Good to see that there is at least one true Harley dealer still around. Seems like more so every day, the balance of dealerships (at least in my area) are being swallowed up by mega-auto consortiums or trust fund brats only interested in owning more dealerships than their equally rich siblings. Laidlaws appears to be the legacy, family-owned and operated dealership focused 0:06 servicing the Harley-Davidson loyalist who love the brand. Only regret that your dealership is 1000+ mikes away. Keep up the great work.😊

Really Beautiful motorcycle
When I think Harley, I’ve always mentally imagined the Heritage. Love the classic old school styling. Fast forward and my first Harley purchase was a Heritage in burnt orange and root beer. That bike was sexy as hell and a lot of fun. However it was prior to the new frame so all day touring was not comfortable, and I traded it in on a Limited. Wish I could have kept it tho because that style is still the best looking bike in the lineup. This is a good looking bike too, but I could do without all the fringe and medallions. Lol! The dealers around here have already sold a few.

Great looking bike. I agree with other comments it should have white wall tires.
I love what H-D is doing with the Icons collection, but what I think would bring it to another level is if they included a custom exhaust for each Icon that emulated the same exhaust notes as the bikes they're based off of instead of the same stock exhaust you get on a non Icon bike. I'm guessing emissions laws would prevent them from doing it but it would be sweet.

I love the looks of the bike and that it has a modern engine and drivetrain. If I had room for another bike I would totally go for this. The reason why I wont be trading in my current bike is because I need more touring with a back seat. Road king is the bike for me but I love the looks of this hydra-glide so much. I don't like that the new bikes are going away from chrome and blacking out everything. I prefer the chrome.

The Hydra-Glide is a beautiful bike. For the $$ of it, I think Harley missed the boat by not putting chrome fork lowers on it.
Otherwise, it's stunning.
Yea they just do the raw aluminum on forks. It would be a nice touch to have chrome.

For some reason, the Heritage seems to be seen as the poor cousin of Harley. It's actually the most comfortable and easily the best handling model I.M.O. (not ridden the pan-am so can't say for that). At 6'5" I'm not as tall as Matt but it was by far, the best fit for me. Try one, you'll be impressed.
