I been seeing plenty of SnS speed runs lately as I'm a SnS main and hadn't played rise in like 8 months so prepping for sunbreak, but why is everyone using the Rathian SnS, what am I missing? I dont think the poison attack is going to help much with DPS especially during a speed run.
Rathian SnS is just a really good raw option. 220 raw (226 with ramp up), 10% affinity, and 40 points of blue make it one of the best SnS to use on a non-Dragonheart build. Poison only does 320 damage in this run but it does still save a few seconds.
@@Paturicko before sun break there was an interesting modded in skill for pc from frontier called status pursuit. It added the status damage to raw whenever the monster was already under the status effect. Made paralysis weapons even better and poison weapons amazing. I just wish sb brought more skill like it and drug knowledge to buff status weapons more
Thanks! I use flinch free 3 so that Valstrax's short bite attack doesn't trip me. It allows me to tank the chip damage and continue attacking. This comes into play at around 2:50
im a new player and what basic combos do you use on the dragon ? seems different than mine, and is that a different version of perfect slash ? the one your weapon shines? people told me to farm valtrax armor and nagakuca weapons ?
Not sure which controller you use so I'll just assume switch pro controller The combos I use are hard bash combo, lateral slash combo, and perfect rush Hard bash: Forward + A > A > A > X+A Lateral slash: A > A > A > X+A Perfect Rush: Backhop into three timed inputs You use hard bash the most because it doesn't use any sharpness. You use lateral slash when you can afford to lose sharpness. You use perfect rush when the monster is KO'd or toppled. Not sure if these combos are still optimal in base rise after the expansion but they should still good. As for the different version of perfect rush I'm not sure what you mean lol. Maybe you're using reaper slash at the end instead of falling bash? Valstrax armor and nargacuga sns is a really good set. I don't use it in this vid because valstrax armor requires a specific setup that I can't really fit in this run.

I didn't use the water vent because I'm running with TA rules. So no water/lava vents, buddies, bombs, capturing, etc.
