I'm desperately waiting for the answer to whether you discard the cards after guessing

Let's think through this, from both points of view of who is guessing, you or another player. So for your own play, you simply makes notes after you guess to get you closer to narrow down the truth. For the other players, while one player may guess, other players still have a chance to guess. So the answer is no, you don't discard the cards. Even more, if the player asks you a similar question, you can show that same player the same guess. Their job is to keep track of their elimination process. Hope this answers your question....
