BTS Army fan base is huge and can be quite opinionated, as I'm sure you're discovering. There is a ton of content and it plus the fans can be a bit overwhelming. Do things at your own pace and try not to worry...true Army will be patient and understanding. Keep in mind that the songs you began with were mostly Jungkook's solo songs, which purposely had more of a western flavor to them. This was his choice....he loves a lot of western artists & songs and he wanted to see how well he could branch into more western type pop music(which is why he learned the English for all of them), so he made an album that could showcase his various tastes & voice changes. Like you said, he really is a chameleon. You may not feel the same about the rest or some of BTS' music, it has a different flavor/feel to it and that is ok, we all have our own likes & preferences and it's perfectly fine for you to be honest...your reactions should be sincere after all.

So, BTS generally write their own music. However, during the COVID Pandemic, so many people were suffering and their tour had been cancelled so they thought how they could help the most people. So, they made Dynamite, Butter, and Permission To Dance. They were in all English because they wanted to reach the most people. However, because they didn't write the lyrics, they are not as deep/though provoking as their Korean songs. And that is ok because the purpose of these songs was to cheer people up, to give them a bit of a bright spot during a dark time. Then, Jung Kook released an all English album and he told us the purpose--he wanted to become a global pop star not just a kpop star. So it was specifically targeted to a western audience. And again, Jung Kook didn't write any of the songs on his album Golden because he said it would a wasted of his time because there were already great writers and songs out there so he was very meticulous choosing each song to sing and then used all of his focus and energy in singing just so....it was really hard for him because he had to focus on pronouncing each syllable of each word correctly and according to the way each different producer wanted him to pronounce it. He is not fluent in English but he sings English incredibly well. All the members have been working really hard on learning English. RM is fluent in English and mostly self taught. He was fluent as a young teenager. The others all have had to learn it after becoming members of BTS. There are soooooo many videos to get to know them. Most people recommend Taylor Mari's guide -A Guide To BTS Members-The Bangtan 7. They have a vast and diverse catalogue.ARMY want to see you react to something that we think you will enjoy. So perhaps if you let us know what kind of music you want to listen to, we can make some recommendations. BTS do so many genres and fusion that it is often just called BTS genre. Anyway, thanks for checking this out. As of December 11th and 12th all the members will be enlisted in the military for their mandatory service period. This is the perfect opportunity to get caught up on all things BTS before they come back together as a group in 2025.

We as BTS fans are a little somber today as the last 2 members of BTS who haven't enlisted yet (Jimin and Jungkook) are enlisting in the Korean military today for 18 months to fulfill their mandatory military service. Now we wait until June 2025 until all 7 members are together again, but they all took a photo together yesterday. I can't think of any pop music artist who isn't influenced by Michael Jackson, he was/is a worldwide legend who changed the game for all pop artists and just music artists in general. When I watch BTS perform it reminds me so much of the days when I would watch Michael Jackson perform. Jungkook and Jimin even did a dance to MJ's song Black or White for a fan event. Don't take the comments too personally. When it comes to the language barrier we as fans have encountered plenty of people who have reacted to BTS saying if they only sang in English then they would check out more. Some fans may go overboard but I hope most of the fandom can be understanding.
Here are some solo suggestions for members you haven't reacted to yet
Jimin- Set Me Free Pt. 2, Like Crazy
    RM- Wild Flower, Still Life
    Jin- The Astronaut
    J-Hope- MORE, Arson
V- Love Me Again, Slow Dancing
the only reason I didn't put 2 songs for Jin is because he is the only member who didn't release a full album yet, he only released 1 song before he enlisted in the military last year. But I'm sure once he is discharged he will release an album at some point.

For RM, you can add Awakening, Champion ft. Fallout boy, Change ft. Wale, Fantastic, Change part 2, Monster. If you like rap and hip hop, you'll love the rap line's (RM, Suga and JHope) Outro:Tear, Ugh, Dang and Cypher 1-4. They had to go through some intensive training to manage it. In fact as an artist I practice the way they do singing while jogging on a treadmill. These guy's train hard it's the reason Jin and J Hope are excelling in the military and are drill instructors because of their level of physical fitness. They can dance and sing live in 3 hours concerts they do it till they come off stage and require oxygen masks. They do it all the time. They refuse NOT to sing live and while dancing.

I guess everyone is different. For me, it doesn't matter what language a song is in, I'll listen to songs from everywhere, because the first things I pay attention to are the beat, melody and feel of it. If I like a song that much, then I'll look into the lyrics. Even with English language songs, half the time I can't tell what they're saying anyway, and I have to look up the lyrics.
But I'm telling you, if you start looking into the lyrics of BTS songs, you'll realise how deep most of them are and how many layers of meaning there is. The english songs they released (Dynamite, Butter, PTD) are fun, but don't hold as much meaning as their Korean songs.

Thanks for watching- we do appreciate anyone taking the time to see a little bit of what BTS is. This is one of 3 English songs they put out during the pandemic. They were meant as upbeat feel good songs (not written by BTS). The songs they write and perform in their native tongue are different, in my opinion. I did not like rap until I found BTS. Listening to the way they perform it, seeing their passion, then reading the lyrics has been a bit life altering for me. These guys are poets. And the vocalists can easily stand on their own, yet they choose to stay as 7. Each one is intelligent, humble and kind in addition to multi-talented. There is an endless amount of content out there to support that. Thanks again, wishing you well.

Hi man, thanks for your reaction. Sorry some ARMYs got on your case. We are a very protective buch because the guys have received a lot of hate, and mostly comes from a misundertanding and lack of respect for their culture. However, ARMYs should know better than attack reactors that are given the boys a chance.
Their lyrics in english are very bubble gum, so when ARMY tells you about their korean stuff is because their lyrics touch much deeper subjects like mental health, self love, empowerment, societal expectations, adressing their haters (like Mic Drop) etc... and their rap songs are spiding bars left and right, just make sure to turn the captions on. Their english songs were released to cheer people up during covid and to reach a wider english audience. So ARMY don't feel those songs really represent the boys. Regarding live performances, they always sing live, they do use a backing track mainly for the ad libs, because they are also dancing through out... but they always sing live. Fun fact: the vocal line (jin, jimin, v and jk) had to practice their singing while working out on treatmills so they can expand their lung capacity and have a better control of their vocals when dancing on live shows.
    Hope that helps.
Thanks for your reactions, much love from Galapagos! ✌🏻💜

Army just really want you to know their lyrics because they are great lyricists. Yes this is English so it’s easy to understand but it’s very western pop, it doesn’t show their talent as actual rappers who write their own lyrics and great bars. Even in vocals, this song is a fun song for American radio but if you get into their Kpop songs, their lyrics are deeper, have meaning , and messages they want to share.

Hahaa yes they love MJ. They’ve paid tribute several times. You should watch their live Dynamite performance on MAMA2020 tribute to MJ. I believe that’s the performance one of MJ’s son commented on in appreciation for the tribute to his dad. 💜
As an MJ fan, I love when they take that influence and bring us back to those MJ days.

Been watching you go down the BTS rabbit hole. Yes it’s frustrating being someone who doesn’t speak korean understanding what they are saying. But the thing that makes them get people’s hearts is that they started out 10 years ago as children together under a very little production company with little money. they gave away free tickets in the streets in the beginning to get people to come see them! they have become family to each other and worked their assess off to get where they are. there are ok kpop bands today, but none of them have gone through what bts did to get where they are.

Hi, again. Good reaction, ty. I am 2019 Army. Jimin bias, Suga wrecker and OT7. The way Jungkook and Jimin look at the camera while kissing their hands brings a different vibe. 0.0 Love this song. This performance was fun. So catchy. They flirting and kissing us left and right. I am much. I've heard this song like 50 times and plan to hear it more. It makes me want to dance. JK looked good but the hair was getting too much for me glad he did a haircut. Namjoon said it took Hobi a whole hour to film the final scene eating butter😭U have to listen them in Japanese too. =0} Oh sweet love anime. Not a fan of Attack on Titan but my bro loves it. Ace, all South Korea adores MJ. Their Kpop wave started with his music. If u watch guides u will see. Hugs. -2019 Army NY USA💜
    Meaning of the number
    V -wanting to be no.1
JK - first day when he come to Seoul
Jimin - 1st concert (American Hustle Life)
J-Hope - pager code (bbo bbo - kiss kiss)
Suga and Jin - random numbers sent to company
Rm - their former apartment number
P.S. We like long vids. Np. I subbed. Appreciate ur honesty.

Thanks for the reaction. I recommend you to first react to their Introduction to BTS guide by taylor it's a best guide to understand BTS as a group and individuals about their music where they start and why they are the biggest group in the world rn why they are beyond kpop because they literally put kpop on the map they paved the way for kpop globally. After that guide you'll also have the idea of BTS fandom ARMY and why they they are soo protective about BTS then you should react to their discography💜
P.s guide is bit long so don't cut and upload it we armys love to watch long videos if BTS is there in it we don't give a f* about video duration.

I really enjoy your reactions; you're honest, in terms of your opinion on what you are watching/listening to. It's not always what us ARMY want to hear or would agree with, but you're honest while remaining respectful, so thank you. However, I do think you need to delve more into the rap lines' songs: UGH!, Ddaeng, Outro:Tear (live version; it's gotta be the live version), Cyphers 1-4 and I'm sure I'm forgetting some, but all of those are awesome. All have meaningful lyrics and are just, wow. So good. I feel that catching the flow and cadence is possible without understanding all the words, but that's just me and I do know the meanings of the songs, so that likely also makes a difference. I would also recommend Baepsae, the dance practice or live version; it's not a rap song but it's a fun one with meaning.

BTS ARMY - stop being sensitive about autotune… it’s not a knock on whether or not they can sing live… it’s used by EVERY LIVE SINGER IN THE INDUSTRY! It’s not used to help people who can’t sing… it’s used for effect and since they are singing and dancing live, it’s helpful! They are not superhuman! We have all seen them sing live without mics, behind the scenes and in lives, and we ALL know they can sing! So just chill!! Let people figure out their journey on their own… we all have YEARS of information and understanding!!

"they're singing some of it not all of it" they are singing most of it, when you said "some" if that means you think they didn't sing most of the time, that would be incorrect. and they are singing it, eg at Grammy's and AMA's while doing elite choreography, no small thing.

I know you shot this months ago but I am just catching it now. I don't understand your comment that you can't judge their ability rap unless less it is in English. Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought that it was important for the rappers to write their own lyrics. One can converse in another language but it takes real language skills to have a command of a language, to understand euphemisms, nuances and to rhyme.
This song is just one flavor. They sing multiple genres. Multiple. I

OK, if understanding the meaning of the lyrics of a song is important to you, you have to find your own way to get into the music.
I am the other way around, I listen to the melody, rythm , emotions that arise in myself..and later I will find out the lyrics, if it is important. We are all different, its OK, don’t worry😉 I am from the small country Sweden , so I am used to that most music is not in swedish, I am used to subtitles , and I know english…it doesn’t matter.. I found a cool Chinese singer rappning In Mandarin, that was so cool, and I didnt understand the lyrics even after translation ( the context was not familiar).. but I got caught by the intensity of the performance. 🔥Well, I am glad yo got curious about BTS, there is so much more to discover, as a group and as individuals with different talents. So keep on digging, I am sure you will have fun 👍😝
(B t w The Chinese singer is Hua Chenyu, the song Qi Tian)

Mind is like a parachute, if you don't open it, you'll die. Open your mind and stop with your the explanations. Why you, native English speakers believe English is the main language in the world?
