It’s not that they can’t sing, they all can. The auto tune is a stylistic effect, not to cover up lack of ability.

The song is supposed to slap their haters who had been harrashing them since their modest debut in 2013. There is no autotune in their live performance of the song at MAMA 2017.

BTS is way bigger than what you think. They make genuine music addressing social norms, self-love and much more. It's not like flash music from other groups that you have heard (maybe that's what you like). This kpop wave spreading around the world all started due to BTS.
Right now they are on a hiatus till 2025 due to mandatory military service in South Korea. Meanwhile they are achieving their solo careers as well.
You could watch a BTS Guide if interested, it can help you understand them better.

Ha, that’s funny, because RM in Mic Drop is one of the times I really like the use of auto tune as an obvious effect, because I think it just works. The song is already a hybrid of hip hop, trap, pop & EDM, so its a very unique track, with a crazy number of tempo changes. I see that use of auto tune as all part of the showcase being presented.
RM’s section was originally a lot more in Korean, but he wrote more English lines for the Remix. The original track is equally excellent, in my view. Steve Aoki heard it and asked them if he could work with them on the remix. It was their first collaboration as a band. Wishing 24 hours of it being released, it was number one on iTunes in 80 countries.

I appreciate your honesty. There’s something up with your sound quality and your voice kept cutting out slightly. In my opinion, most of their best stuff, as a group, is in Korean with some English sprinkled in. They are a band from South Korea and most are not fluent English speakers. Some of the latest pop stuff is in an English (Dynamite, Butter, Permission to Dance). They also have a bunch of covers in English, mostly by individual members or units, but some as a group (Fix You, I’ll be Missing You). I hope you give them a chance, even the non English stuff like On, Run BTS, Blood Sweat and Tears, and some earlier stuff like Butterfly, Lost, etc., etc.

The car blowing is not CGI, it's real... If you pay attention, you'll understand why this passage works: they go from chaos to peace (the all-white room) after deciding not to worry about haters (they still suffer a lot from it), so we love the message! Maybe, because you're new and don't know how they worked hard to be where they are now, the message didn't touch you. No problem. Keep being sincere, that's what we appreciate the most.
Thanks for your reaction! I think you'll like to watch BTS Room Festa, to know a bit of their diversity. I can assure you that you'll smile all the time!

He's the Leader/spokesman for BTS. He's one of the 2Rapper of the group that was a part of the underground Hip Hop scene as Rappers. The 3rd Rapper of the Group was also part of the underground Hip Hop scene as a Street Dancer.

Thanks for watching! Sorry you didn't enjoy it more. I'll be honest, I *love* the English trilogy: Dynamite, Butter, and Permission to Dance. But, they don't give you a good view into BTS as what they are capable of as musicians and as a group. My worry is that you would watch those and not understand their depth as lyricists, songwriters, producers, etc. It's not that hard to read lyric translations for their mostly Koren/Japanese songs. If you're willing, I would suggest Fake Love or the Festa Room 2021 performances. NOT all English, but there are subtitles. Appreciate you checking out the group.

It's ok to like listening to their English songs but it's a bit of a shame because their masterpieces are in Korean. (especially the lyrics they wrote)
And about RM's voice, I understand you don't like autotune, but his voice is naturally deep just like that (but yeah, his verse in this song uses autotune as an effect) If you like this kind of lyrics like Mic Drop, I think you should try the rap line tracks. Anyway, thanks for your reaction. Hope you discover more about them and enjoy!

I am so unclear how a comment like RM should have used his regular voice would come out of the mouth of someone who has never heard his voice. Have you been exposed to his voice before? Or are you simply stereotyping what an Asian voice should sound like? His voice is his voice, and he was signed on as a rapper 13 years ago because of his skills with that voice. It sounds the same live.

In this age of increasing artificial intelligence and machine learning, technology like autotune is here to stay. I don't usually like it used for an entire song, but BTS uses it sparingly if at all in their songs. Looking forward to your other BTS reaction videos. Peace!

Yep, this song sounds cold, which fits the lyrics. Therefore, autotune is in place here. As for the likes again, in 6 years ARMYs, both new and old, are taken by the fact that BTS sings about the facts here.
    World Wide famous,
number of awards (over 900 pieces),
sold-out concert seats and concert numbers

Autotune: i just want to point out, this is a remix. The original song does not have autotune, as far as I know.
Second: you want to listen to their English songs, there are few, and JK's full album, yes ... But 95% of BTS discography is in Korean, thanks God.
If you want to have an overlook of their first chapter discography, go to Boracity Magazine channel here in RUclips. She did an amazing job showing the whole compilation without giving spoilers.
Also: they sing best live (usually).
And finally: it is worth to go to their lyrics. The English songs are superficial for a reason. Their Korean songs are never superficial. There is sooooo much to dig in, in other to understand. I hope you would feel inclined to... Because it is very deep.
Nevertheless, if you don't or if you don't like them... Not a problem. You don't have to.
    Greetings from Germany!

The incredible thing is that those of us who listen to BTS don't need all the theater to love what we hear, but BTS cares and takes care of returning the love and admiration of its fans with excellence. Something that does not happen in general in the West, neither six years ago nor now. At 53 I started listening to and watching BTS a little over a year ago and it has everything I was looking for in music and more, without forgetting that, apart from everything, they are excellent human beings. It was difficult for me at the beginning to get rid of Western rules and prejudices and overcome myself to listen to and appreciate not only this band but a lot of Eastern music and it is the most enriching thing I have experienced on a musical level. On a human level, jumping barriers is the most rewarding. Speaking of BTS specifically, they address many genres and styles. His lyrics are excellent. I'm still looking for topics I don't like and I haven't found them yet. And I say this mostly listening to them, not watching their videos. Good luck if you decide to give BTS a chance, they are wonderful musically and humanly speaking. I understand that you want to listen to them in English but as a group they only made 3 songs in English and it was focused on the world and Western market so it does not really represent their music in general, which, personally, I feel is much more substantial. I don't speak English or Korean and I enjoy listening to them in Korean more not because their English interpretations are bad, but because they are Korean. I prefer to adapt to them and enjoy them for who they are than for them to have to adapt to me. They are great as they are because they have been themselves and that is what is truly valuable. Del from Argentina.

The MV begins with haters throwing stuff at them.
The 7 are sitting in the prison observation centre.
    THAT SHOULD HAVE TOLD YOU.
The amount of hate they get is vicious, and spiteful.
They are the PERFECT UNDERDOG rising to the top story with Army support. Lack of budget, kpop industry trying to crush them as outsiders when they were underdogs.
BTS grew outside the kpop industry in Korea, without their support or clout or power. They had ONLY ARMY.
This song was literally their last dis track for their haters, so called mic drop.

@UglyAceEnt, L O L! They have 1.3 billion views ! No, that’s not the reason !because the music that RM the leader of BTS had an auto tune put onto his voice because it was part of the fad that everybody and their mama and Travis Scott was using autotune back in 2017?! BTS have 1.3 billion views for their music video on RUclips because they’re BTS! Period!
Bro, you just do not understand the whole phenomenon of BTS they can do any type of genre of music! K-pop is an industry that was created by the record companies/entertainment companies of South Korea! BTS have excelled and exceeded all expectations of what you think K-pop is because you are new and lack knowledge I pray 🙏🏼 you will learn that BTS is more than just a label that you put on them!
K-pop is Korean popular music, BTS create their music with English and Korean mix together and also Japanese and English!
The youngest member of BTS named Jungkook has a whole album called “GOLDEN“ every song is in English if you check the Billboard hot 100 & Digital charts, Global charts etc. you will see that BTS as well as Jungkook of BTS have many songs and albums that are on those charts! Do the research you will see that I’m talking facts & truth ! They are extremely talented and created their own music !
American radio stations well not play BTS Korean/English songs and BTS‘s company HYBE labels will not do payola which is illegal by the way if you know anything about payola a record company will pay a certain amount of money for their artist song to be played on the hour! They are their own composers producers they even direct their music videos they sell out 60,000 to 90,000 football arena’s all over the world! Their Music speak for itself , this song “ Mic Drop” isn’t the only song that have over 1 billion views on RUclips!
Travis Scott and Drake wish they had 1 billion views!!
BTS are bigger than who you think they are they’re not just some fad that’s why they’ve been around for a decade!
if you wanna know more about who they are as an individual and why they’re so popular and why they have almost 90,000,000 people in the fandom BTS ARMY then maybe you should do a introduction to who BTS is the seven members of Bangtan by Taylor Mari and The most beautiful moment in life the story of BTS by rice squad the 2023 update version! Those would tell you a lot more than just the music that you’re listening to yeah they’re kind of long documentary series but it’s worth it if you want to learn more because you’ve got a lot of BTS fans coming to your comment section and if you want to keep us happy then let us help you get to know them!!💜🙏🏼 good luck on your journey to BTS💜

Actually upper guesses for Army are over 200 million.
Not everyone officially follows their social media or all of them.
Personally I think people underestimate them when they try to make JK into a pure solo artist - the most successfull Popstar. Except the other members did not drop (English) Pop albums at all.
      So...
      ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
As successful as he is on his own JK - as 5% of BTS success like all of them - the synergy between the members make them more than the sum of their parts on their own.
      They are pretty big!
      💜

@ruthfischer7615, I absolutely know that BTS is popular all over the world and not just South Korea. But do RUclips reactors know how big BTS is? The only reason why they react to BTS or to K-pop other groups is because of what is trending what is the top trending songs and they see other RUclips reactors react to it and they see comment sections of other RUclips reactors channels and they see all the views and subscribers and comments and that is what they want for their channel even though they’ve never reacted to K-pop song or BTS song before! It’s called following a trend of other peoples reactions and what are their intentions?! That’s the problem! Are these RUclips channels really reacting to BTS because they really want to get to know who BTS are as people and why they are Big as they are? Or are they really having BTS or other K-pop groups on their channel because they know that they can gain a lot of views and subscribers and using them as a steppingstone to increase the channel!
I’m sure you’ve seen a lot of RUclips reactors who are authentically respectful give honest opinions but do you really subscribe to those channels?
This particular RUclips channel saw Jungkook song and music video and decided to react to it he did not know anything about BTS Jungkook introduced him in to one member of BTS !
I understand what RM said 5% of each individual member of BTS contribute and 50% is the BTS ARMY ‘s contribution, 15% is to the HYBE company.
Without the six members of BTS Jungkook would not exist his fame his growth in the last decade as one member of BTS could not stand without his other six members who nurtured and helped him matter fact all seven members equally learned and shared their talents to help each other grow as a music group!
you have a right and I have a right as fans of BTS to call out RUclips reactors for not doing any research on BTS! I believe if they would do informational guides after listening to one song then they would have a more of a understanding on the concept of BTS or other K-pop idol groups that they react to.
Yes because of the American concepts of music comparison when it comes to reacting to BTS, comparison to certain rappers certain dancers certain vocalist in American music industry, they never can see BTS the way we do as fans that they can stand and hold their own ground as individual artist as well as a seven member group!
And it’s our responsibility as fans to give them insight and knowledge about BTS, that’s if they choose to read our comments and take it seriously which 90% of reactors that do BTS and K-pop idol groups do not take it seriously.
BTS are not just a boy band and according to him when he first reacted to Jungkook the first thing he said is all the young girls like him! He has no idea how large the fandom is he has no idea of the diversity and cultural, religious and gender identity and age demographic of the BTS fandom!
A 12 year old BTS army will go to a concert buy the BTS merch and enjoy it and also a 75-year-old army will go to a concert buy the merch and enjoy it! He doesn’t know that nor does he care. So my question to you is do you think you’re subscribing to a channel because one reaction you like ?no! that’s not what I do I wait at least three or four reactions before I determine whether I subscribe to a channel and I’ve already exhausted my patience to this channel and this will be my last comment and he won’t respond to it because he probably didn’t even read any of the comments! My time is worth more than just to be dismissed and listen to his emptiness of critiquing of BTS with no understanding or knowledge other than listening to a couple of songs! There are a lot of relevant serious RUclips reactors to BTS and other K-pop idol groups that they do on their channels I want to spend time to go on a channel and able to enjoy knowing that they did their homework and they respect BTS!!!💜

BTS started out as underdogs. They came from a very small company, almost closed to bankruptcy. But when they started gaining more fans and getting more popular especially in the West, fans of other groups from the big 3 companies (YG, SM and JYP) teamed up to downplay them, spreading malicious rumors, sending death threats, sabotaging them. They even had to go to the court to defend themselves. In 2017, they released MIC DROP from one of their trilogy albums LOVE YOURSELF, a song for BTS' haters. LOL! Their three English songs were released during the height of the global pandemic to send positive and happy vibes to their fans around the world. BTW, you're the only reactor I've watched who didn't like RM's part because of auto tunes. Many reactors like his part. Again if you know BTS history, you will know why RM uses auto tune in his verse. He is the leader of the group. Those auto tunes are like words from the back of his mind. Those are the things he wanted to say to BTS haters. If only he could yell at them and curse them, but he didn't, instead, he used those hate to lead his members and make BTS become big as they are today. By the way, everything you see in this MV is real. Even the explosion is real. You can watch their behind the scene video because it's all there.

Also BTS has a huge discography with 300+ songs and all of them are different and they cover many different genres. There's definitely something for everyone if you are open minded and don't only like western music or only used to that. They can do it all! BTS broke language barriers and have gone beyond music. That's why they are the biggest band in the world with the biggest Fandom in the world and growing. Broke Guinness world records and keep breaking their own records. You should watch one of the BTS guides, to know more about them and how they got to where they are now. It wasn't easy, that's why their Army is so protective of them. The guides by Taylor Mari and xCeleste are great. BTS are not only great artists, but great human beings as well and continue to spread love and positivity, even after receiving so much hate. That's why they deserve the world and they have it!💜🌌♾️👑👊💪🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

@UglyAceEnt, you know all seven members of BTS have solo albums! the only reason why that you were concentrating on Jungkook because his album just dropped and his songs are what is fresh in your mind! you can’t name all seven members of BTS you only know one person and you don’t give any credit to the other six members of BTS because if it wasn’t for the other six members there would be no Jungkook , they are a seven member group!
The only thing I can tell you is that you need to do a documentary guide , That will give you information about BTS !
The reason why BTS‘s music isn’t on American radio station is because they are racist they don’t want a Korean group that sings half English half Korean so they cancel them out also BTS‘s company HYBE will not do payola!
You sure have a lot to learn about BTS and K-pop in general!
There are millions of RUclips reactors that do K-pop music or BTS on their channel why do you think that is? I will tell you, because they know that it brings the fans to the channel for large views and a lot of subscribers if it was unknown then why are there so many RUclips reactors doing it you’re just one out of 1 million!!!!

Yes, 6 years ago… and before that the rap and hip hop eras. I got hooked watching ON… watch it!!!! Then watched the live version from Jimmy Fallon and saw the talent live. Then I saw Black Swan and realized their pivoting between rap, hip hop, pop, contemporary… Dionysus (watch genre is that?!)… then then I got hooked on Daeschwita and deep dove into the rap line… now I am Army!

Você já ouviu Spring Day?

BTS as a group only has 3 fully English songs out of their over 300 song discography over the past 10 years. I enjoy their fully English songs but they are very surface level enjoyable pop songs, these songs don't really show what BTS is capable of as a group. Most of the BTS fandom agree their Korean songs are much better sonically and lyrically. I know the language barrier can be hard to adjust to but please give it time.

The average BTS fan thinks BTS discography is timeless. No matter when the song was done we still think its amazing...because it is. You listened to this with a subjective ear. Most serious musicians can tell from the production when it was recorded and professional dancers can tell by the choreography what year it was, and they're still impressed. Try to listen objectively and if you pay attention, their lyrics arent shallow, they're well thought out and mean something. There is a story there. Thats why their songs resonate with so many people of all ages and races. Its relatable. You'll never hear, a bitch, ass, pu**y, wap, in the BTS songs. Clean lyrics. They (some of them) just started doing that in their solo stuff, but not bad. Jimin said F**k all the ops. The rappers RM and Suga did it in their mix tapes, but JKs new songs are very direct and suggestive. He has definitely taken on a more mature western style, but he kills it without being obnoxious.

Thank you for your review of Mic Drop. There are just so many songs that are good, as a group or solos. The English speaking ones are written for worldwide appeal, and more generic. Forgive me, Army, no hate, please, but they are targeted for a specific audience, and some were done during Covid. Strange and deadly times when people needed more upbeat, hopeful songs. Just my opinion. Sounds like JK is your bias.V is mine, and if you get the chance, please review Singularity by V at the Tokyo Dome. It's my absolute favorite, and I think you would enjoy it. Triggered Army here!!! Back away from our president RM. First of all you don't enough of their history to understand what the lyrics are and what they mean. RM raps brilliantly live and on track. This was just a stylic choice. Please don't come to listen to a Korean group and demand more English songs. So sick of westernised reactors who know nothing but like to judge.. Sick to English singers if your judgement on their music is based on language. The rest of the know. Music goes beyond language. I know plenty will defend you so carry on.
