So Blood, Sweat and Tears is based on the classic book Demian by Hermann Hesse. It's about how in order to grow up you have to break out of the innocent world you start out with as a child and either face or embrace the temptations the outside world offers up.
Hesse was both a patient and an admirer of Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung on whose theories and models much of BTS's later work is based.
Every single piece of art in this video is related to either the book, choosing or temptation starting with the painting in front of Jin "The Rebel Of The Fallen Angels" to the huge statue of the Greek god Abraxus to the specifik music piece Suga is playing on the organ.
The more you dive into the details of this MV the more ingenious it becomes. It's literally mindblowing! 🤯 It's no wonder that this song/MV/album made them the first artists *ever* to win all four grand prizes at both the MMA and the MAMA, a so-called Daesang sweep.

And the music videos for the songs "Fire", "Airplane pt. 2" (Japanese ver.) and "DNA" are definitely definitely definitely worth watching. Although these are only their old songs, and there are also "fresher" ones. But first you need to look at these. I advise you to start with "Airplane part 2" (Japanese version), of course immediately after "Spring Day")
By the way, you should definitely watch "Spring Day" from BTS songs. It is already considered practically a cultural treasure of Korea, it is even called the "Queen-song". A very touching song about longing for the past, expectations and hope for the future.
Watch "Fire" the live version from 2016 Mama awards. One of their best performances from my opinion.

It’s a depiction of a book. It’s all about temptation. Drugs, sex, love, fame,and fighting it. Some give in. Like ‘rm not only takes the drugs but temps jk. Jimin wears a blindfold so he won’t be tempted. V is the fallen angel who temps Jin. In the end the color green symbolizes temptation and you see they all fell to it. Black swan : Jimin was the swan. Here v is the angel. When you decide to enter the “bu” which is a story line that connects some of the songs, it’s extremely engaging and you are like a detective. You need to look for clues and symbolism throughout. The first is “I need u”. Look for the original version. It’s graphic so be warned.

V stared at me for too long in this MV and that how I fell down the BTS rabbit whole since 2019. Song is about temptation (so the MV worked) and that a person has both dark & light in them, growing up is apart of that acceptance. Alot of their videos do connect in some ways of concept theories and there's a fictional storyline which Blood, sweat, Tears is apart of.

you said that songs like black swan gets to you, maybe you should look into a degree about fine arts because many of their videos have a public appeal but an artistic connection as well. that’s why they appeal to everyone from the people who just want something they can sing/ dance to as well as the people who want a deeper meaning to the music.

You MUST watch an explanation video. One of the best is the explanation by an Italian lady. There are subtitles. OOPS. I meant "Spring Day"!!!!! Not "Life Goes On".
