Ever since you started talking more about fast fashion, thrifting and things like that I've started to be more conscious about the things I'm buying and going to more thrift stores/small businesses etc to buy things instead of going to these big companies. I'm glad you talked about it and helped me make this positive change in my life 🤗

The figurines are called Cherished Teddies and are made by a company named Enesco 🎀
They were pretty big in the UK in the 90's! So cute! They were in every catalogue! haha x

I got so happy when I saw those in her video! 🥺☺️ Priscilla Hillman makes bunnies and mice and cats and little people just like the cherished teddies too!
So with 1960s clothes, the fabric is often polyester which will last forever and maintain bright colors (and never biodegrade, so keep wearing it second hand). But they often sewed the fabric with cotton thread, which is often rotting or weakened by 2020. So it's a good idea to reinforce seams of vintage clothes to give them a longer life. I love that romper though!
Also, I go thrifting with a measuring tape, so I can see if clothes will fit without trying them on.

Okay this isn't totally related to THIS video, but thank you so much for introducing me to Big Bud Press. I'm from a rust belt town in the USA (basically there used to be a lot of manufacturing and then the business moved overseas) and I'm really passionate about shopping local because of it. I had no idea they still made clothes in the USA! Obviously I could only get one thing at a time because it isn't cheap, but I now have a pair of green trousers for work all thanks to you. I'd love it if you kept shouting out those brands (and maybe some local to you in Canada?) even if you haven't bought anything from them yet just telling us about the aesthetic. Seriously, So. So. SO. grateful. The pants are bangin.

I’ve also been thrifty at my local antique mall and they got a booth that’s all vintage 80s 90s early 2000’s toys, that I love. But, my favorite thrift shop close and I’m so sad, I got my best finds from there. :’(

DEFINITELY do! That’s how I got my Prada purse. And there’s so much more you can do with the items you get- look up “upcycling sewing thrift” and you’ll see amazing things being made!!
Every thrift/antique store is so so different but they're all really interesting even if you don't find anything you want to buy it can be a good experience especially if you wanna learn about like history or if you have friends who are really into different decades

Before the pandemic there used to be these "vintage kilo wholesale" events in the midlands at least, but I think they do them all around the uk! Not sure of they're doing it still with everything going on, but I've gotten some really cute clothes from those events!

I haven't been to a charity shop for SO LONG!! I used to go every week with my friends during breaks at uni, it's so nice to see vintage and thrift shops are still doing well 💕💕
That blanket is crocheted! The squares are made individually and seamed together, I have made several and they are a labor of love. A fun thrifting tip for my crocheters/knitters out there: you can reclaim yarn from sweaters by unwinding them. There's several tutorials on YT, and it's a great way to reuse materials that might otherwise be thrown away eventually.
