They Are TAKING OVER EUROPE... (The Rise of the ELF)

  • Last week, I released a video talking about the history of NFL Europe and why it failed. In the comment section of that video, I received numerous requests to talk about the European League of Football that launched back in 2021. The EFL has built something special that has grown every year and is slowly becoming the premiere European football league. This is the story of the ELF, the football league taking Europe by storm.

ELF is HYPE!!! PLEASE watch these games. Promote them share them talk about them. No it’s not going to be NFL which a lot of people erroneously expect leagues like this to be. If you go in with the mindset of “I’m here because i love football” you will enjoy it. I watched every Galaxy game last year and didn’t regret a single moment.

It's interesting how Madre London played incredible in this league, but then was just ok in the USFL. Between two USFL seasons, he ran for 660 yards, averaging about 4.0 YPC, with 2 TDs. Decent numbers, but I never felt was as talented as other guys like Mark Thompson, CJ Marable, Wes Hills, Matthew Colburn, or Tre Williams.

London was facing better LB play in the USFL. Some of those guys use to be on NFL rosters, or were solid at the NCAA level. Zach Blair was on an ELF podcast about a month ago talking about how American LB experience is in demand in the ELF, whether it come from an A or E import. LB play has improved a bit since no one has been putting up numbers like Madre since.

I watch all the highlight videos every week and don't like how they're only 7 minutes in length when most other leagues are at least 12 minutes or more. The only leagues I don't follow are the German and Japanese leagues. Right now as far as talent ranking The ELF is third behind the NFL, CFL and XFL although it's a toss up between the ELF and XFL.
