“See you next summer.” Let’s be honest, this show was a freaking masterpiece. Thank you to Alex Hirsch on creating such an awesome series. One of the most satisfying finales in the cartoon history of television. An epic and intense finale we will never forget. This show was my childhood, and I still miss it. I wish we had gotten more episodes, including with Dipper and Pacifica together.
One of the greatest finales I've ever seen. I love the robot house battle, the callbacks to previous episodes, the scene of defeating Bill in Stan's mind, and the bittersweet ending. It's all so good. Thanks for checking this out.
This finale was ultimate! Nothing could ever top it. It has tons of intense moments, hilarious scenes, a Megazord-style battle, and of course the ending will make you cry your eyes out. It truly is a great way to end the series.
Fun fact: Disney wouldn’t allow Bill to say anything about killing kids, but they were somehow fine with Alex’s workaround of having “some children to make into corpses”
The encoded message at the end of Part 1 says: IT WILL TAKE 1,000 YEARS FOR TIME BABY'S MOLECULES TO RECONSTITUTE, AND WHEN HE'S BACK, HE'S GOING TO BE VERY CRANKY. Loved how the intro and theme song of the show were corrupted! Best series finale of the decade! I knew Pacifica’s dad had it coming but that was quite a shocker! Never thought it would be Bill that would give him his comeuppance.
This is the buildup we have been waiting for now and what a finale this series was. So some interesting fun facts on the actors that guest starred in Weirdmageddon: 1. Verosika is voiced by Danielle Fishel best known as Topanga Lawrence-Matthews from _Boy Meets World_ and its sequel series _Girl Meets World_ 2. 8 Ball and Teeth are voiced by Andy Merrill best known as Brak from _Space Ghost Coast to Coast, The Brak Show,_ and _Cartoon Planet_ and James on _Adventure Time._ Merrill also came back to reprise his role as Brak in an episode for Season 3 of _Jellystone._ 3. Hectorgon is voiced by Patrick McHale who worked as a writer, Storboard artist on _Flapjack, Adventure Time_ and _Over the Garden Wall_ the latter of which he created. In addition, he served as a co-writer in _Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio._ 4. The Horrifying Sweaty One-Armed Monster was originally voiced by comedian Louis C.K., and Alex Hirsch based the design of the monster from Louis C.K. hence his casting. However, in November of 2017 following allegations to sexual harassment later airings have Louis voice replaced with Alex Hirsch.
18:40 Fun fact: One of those guys is voiced by the same guy who voices Linda Belcher on Bob's Burgers. So this is like a reunion episode with Mabel's VA who voices Louise. (My favorite Belcher)
It should have been a cinematic movie for theaters with a higher animation budget, the animation here is already good but imagine having a budget that's 10× more polished and grand
while this show will forever remain a masterpiece there are still a few unsolved mysteries like Will we see Blendin Blandin return? What powers did the Bill Cipher wheel give? Did the aliens created the anomalies of Gravity Falls or did the aliens attracted the anomalies to come to Gravity Falls? Why did Gravity Falls had a barrier? also Bill's last words invokes a spell saying in backwards "A-X-O-L-O-T-L My time has come to burn! I invoke the ancient power that I may return!" as he becomes reincarnated somewhere else... I recommend watching The Owl House to see what Bill Cipher possibly reincarnated into...
4 Fun Facts for ya! 1. At the end of the regular theme song, they briefly show Bill Cipher's zodiac page from the journal. In the Weirdmageddon intro, they show the zodiac again, but Bill's torn out of the page, signaling that he's escaped. 2. The Bill Cipher statue shown after the credits was for a real-life event created by Hirsch called the "Cipher Hunt", where fans had to find clues around the world which would eventually have lead them to find the statue in Reedsport, Oregon, and win a few prizes, one of which being a mini Bill statue. The actual statue is now located at Confusion Hill, a roadside attraction in California. 3. The Journals are canonically NOT destroyed. Bill did burn them, but everything was restored when he was defeated, and so were the Journals, which was confirmed in the official "Journal 3" book. 4. They did an official graphic novel called "Lost Legends", that has additional stories for the show, before and after the ending. Someone dubbed it on RUclips, and it might be worth checking out.
Yes the bill cypher statue is indeed real it was apart of a real life scavenger hunt with clues and everything and the goal was essentially to hunt down the location of the statue I can't quite remember what happened after that but I think if Im remembering right the person who found the statue first and sent a picture of themselves with it to Alex Hirsch won a prize I don't quite remember it all but it was an experience
Once we found the statue it ended up getting moved because of a land dispute lmao. It currently resides at the Trees of Mystery in Klamath, California!
At this point it turns out that Bill said something in reverse 46:30 he said "A-X-O-L-O-T-L MY TIME HAS COME TO BURN, I ASOSIATE THE ACNTIENT POWER THAT I MAY RETURN"
"Hey, Gideon! Why aren't you dancing? Chop-chop, huh?" I still remember laughing for literally ten minutes the first time I heard that line. This show is perfect.
Will say, favorite unused bit in media, Dipper was originally supposed to SNAP Dippy Fresh's neck Also, if you havent looked it up yet, the Bill Cypher statue WAS real, and part of a massive IRL scavenger hunt!
10:33 So the Cipher at the end of that episode reads “It will take 1000 years for Time Baby’s cells to regenerate, and when he does, he’ll be very angry!” In one of the Gravity Falls shorts, Dipper asks a sentient mailbox when the world will end. It responds 3012, which is 1000 years from when the story takes place. So Time Baby comes back and causes the actual apocalypse. And it’s a testament to Alex Hirsch’s genius. Also, when Dipper and Wendy are “real” they are played by the voice actors, Jason Ritter and Linda Cardellini! Linda also played Velma in the live action Scooby Doo movie!
"This feels like the true ending" probably because it technically might be, the book of bill says the universe we follow is the only universe where the twins survive.
There is actually some Gravity Falls side stories that are worth watching. You could probably finish them all in one video. Dipper’s Guide to the Unexplained, Fixin it with Soos, Mabel’s guide to everything, Mabel’s Scrapbook, and Gravity Falls TV Shorts.
Weirdmageddon is the most epic and saddest finale of Gravity Falls. Bill has caused chaos everywhere. Stan risked his life to save the world. This show really made me cry in the end 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾😱😱😱😭😭😭
17:26 I was wondering throughout the first half of the finale, why neither Salem or DC are responding to this crisis going on in Oregon. Glad the show explained it.
It is literally a Scooby Doo meets Courage the Cowardly Dog situation about how all of Nowhere attracts weird and creepiness and sometimes it’s contained in it!
51:02 That line always bugs me. The writers literally forgot they actually have a shrink/grow ray and she just used it to punch a wall down in Bill's lair.
"he should have just lied and said he didn't know the equation" you're right! and that is one of Ford's fatal flaws. he has a huge fucking ego. he can't help but share that he knows things. part of what made him so easy to manipulate when he was younger.
I mean, if he hadn't, Bill probably would've just killed or never unfrozen him again, and his family would almost certainly die eventually. It was risky, but a gamble that paid off. (Plus, I'm willing to bet Bill could eventually have figured out the formula or created/enslaved someone else to do it)
Yeah, that Bill statue at the end is real. After this show ended, there was a massive Cipher hunt going on with fans having to figure out where said statue is. It was eventually removed from where it was placed and stuck to a tree with someone stealing the hat, but it should still be out there.
when Bill was getting erased he said some gibberish but.... its actually reversed and if you reverse the clip it says.... A-X-O-L-O-T-L MY TIME HAS COME TO BURN I INVOKE THE ANCIENT POWER THAT I MAY RETURN (if you have the book of bill you'll understand this more because there's more information there about the axolotl there) (like, dislike, reply anything helps)
Can't wait for gravity falls to come back bc at the end if reverse about what Bill said to Stanley Pines he will return one day which is the kids growing up
There's a lot to say about the finale, but I'm just glad it ended here and no season 3 came after. It was a small journey just over the course of one summer, just like Dipper said that everything changes and we need to let go of the past we accepted Gravity Falls came to an end and time has come for new cartoons like Amphibia and The Owl House. However, Stan's memory recovery was way too easy, but I guess that fits the tone of Disney traditional stories and fairy tales. Nevertheless, it was really sweet and touching. Thank you, Alex Hirsh. Thank you for turning your boring summer memories in one of the most memorable adventures on TV screens.
Bill Cipher literally tortured, manipulated, terrorized, or even almost nearly killed everyone in the Pines family......except Grunkle Stan. Never con a professional con artist or mess with his family.
Like pointing this out on reactions to the Gravity Falls finale. Wendy is shown winking with her left eye in the final episode. In previous episodes, fake Wendys were shown winking with their right eye. Cute detail there.
There was a deleted scene in Mableland where Dipper snapped Dippy Fresh’s neck. And all I have to say is, I would have payed money for that to be canon.
As much as I freaking loved this finale, the one thing that really upsets me is that we never got to see the cipher circle being activated. I would’ve loved to see how it could’ve destroyed bill. Other than that, it’s still an amazing finale 😁 Also now that gravity falls has ended, you can also check out the owl house and amphibia. Both shows are so good with very interesting story plots. Also! About that live action bill statue that you saw, after the show ended, creator Alex hirsch revealed to the fandom about the cipher hunt and that he had hidden an actual bill statue somewhere in the country. It took a few days but it was eventually found 😄
I'm actually tearing up I'm really gonna miss gravity falls but I'm glad you two got to watch the show from beginning to end gravity falls is a perfect show that everyone should watch

I really wish Mabel was actually called out for starting the end of the world. Also, the second half of season 2 seems to be very rushed like with Ford and McGucket quickly resolving their issues that fast and Grunkle Stan quickly gaining his memories back. I also don't like how Pacifica and Robbie seemed to regress in character for no reason. Other than that, solid show with a solid finale flaws and all.
@@marquisepixley684 After all the talk of "trust no one", she just blindly trusted Blendin. The biggest issue with this show is the messages of some episodes and the fact that Mabel never seems to learn her lesson throughout the series.

It would've been SO much better and more consistent if it was an idyllic version of Gravity Falls that's stuck in a perpetual summer with no visible issues since that was what Mabel wanted, right?
Yeah, it was revealed in the real Journal 3 (the actual, you can buy, book) that Stan's memories came back because the mind wipe just happened so it was able to be reversed just in time.
There are still new canon Gravity Falls adventures in books written by the creator, Alex Hirsch. I recommend reading Journal #3, and Gravity Falls: Lost Legends. And there's a new book for adults coming out this year, The Book of Bill. I also reccomend checking out the vinyl record.

44:59 HE WAS GOING TO KILL MABEL!!!
The villain XANA has a death alot like Bill's but it's genuinely more dark and unsettling than Bill's, shows the type of evil he is.
Btw there is no Season 2 Episode 21, Disney+ just split the 1 hour finale (Weirdmageddon 3) into 2 20-minute episodes.

StOp Being Stupid BrUh.. 💀 😄
Solid ending to Gravity Falls and it’s been fun watching it again with you guys! That’s all I can say in a few words.
Yeah, it was revealed in the real Journal 3 (the actual, you can buy, book) that Stan's memories came back because the mind wipe just happened so it was able to be reversed just in time.
47:09 Goodbye Weirdmaggedon!
There was a deleted scene of dipper snapping dippyfresh's neck.
I definitely shouldn't have watched this before school 😭😭 I'm over here crying
There are still new canon Gravity Falls adventures in books written by the creator, Alex Hirsch. I recommend reading Journal #3, and Gravity Falls: Lost Legends. And there's a new book for adults coming out this year, The Book of Bill. I also reccomend checking out the vinyl record.
