    man how does this only have 2.6k views? i learnt alot more than what i learnt in those so called 'paid' tutorials. Really getting to the basics and fundamentals instead of just sculpting and hoping your audience gets it. You have my like and subscribe sir !!

    This is probably the best sculpting tutorial(prob wouldnt even call it a tutorial) I have seen.
    And somewhere at the half point I started thinking how it would be a good idea to have a sheet that writes down the important info and then I just follow that until I am good enough to do it without it.
    I have always had trouble making characters and its probably because I just didnt have the understanding of the skeleton and I would have happy accidents and feel like man I have really improved,onto something and then I would be at the next char and once again be stomped and sad how I cant make it look right.
    The one thing that scares me and potentially pushes me from pursuing sculpting and 3D modeling in general is that it will take weeks or months to learn it and only if I go for it the proper way.

      Thankyou for your kind words. The key is to try to keep the learning process interesting and fun rather than academic. There is no shortcuts as such, but there are things that can be simplified to make it easier to learn. Maybe I should make a video on the learning process, whats important, why and how to manage the process. In truth there is no end, more doors open up as you go, but as long as your progressing and getting the reward for your effort then its all worth it.

But then I see this video and trust me if you understand this one you can understand everything. Thank you so much. CGDreams you make my dreams come true.

      Thankyou for your kinds words. I think you will like a video Im working. It fills the gaps of how to understand and some questions I had but never found answers regarding progress and the psychology of the learning process. Im fortunate to have training for modern day masters, and like you am in the journey to progress, we are just all at different levels.

    Top notch as always.
    Bony landmarks and muscle are very important, I would love to see your findings on fat pads of the face, a reason is why human faces don't look like Skeletor, A lot of beginners may trip up just learning muscles and bones of the face that will show movement and wrinkles with pads you get also age and weight of the person. Thanks a lot for your work, i got zbrushing thanks to your tuts.
    Cheers!

      Hi Mariusz, thanks for your comments. Fat pads, your right there is not much talked about about this, I guess most average people who are of ideal weight get the common areas filled out between the Zygomatic, Maxilla, Nasolabial, and Mandible. Then there is room for variation such as under the chin and around the neck. Im thinking the reason there is not much on this for art is once the basic structures of the skull and muscles are in place the artist builds on top of this for a person's likeness massing out the fat where needed even if they ar not aware this mass is, in fact, fat and including muscle for expressions that cause surface forms. When we sculpt overweight individuals then I think more attention is certainly needed as to how forms made up of muscular and some skeletal that are covered over while the volume of such structures are what the fat lays on. In these cases some areas become more evidence such as the PSIS of the pelvis, this becomes a deeper dimple due to the way the fresh is jointed to this point without muscle or fat there.
      Its very difficult to streamline something that is in itself complex knowing that while trying to push for simplification of things, in reality, leads to missing gaps in knowledge that at some point you have to backtrack on. My take on it all so far is there is no short cuts, you don't get the end, and there is always room for improvement, and out of all of this that is of use is you only get better when your practice as no progress in the art can be made from accumulating knowledge alone.

      True the attention should be on getting your landmarks proportion and muscle insertion should be the base rest you can extrapolate as you go learning from observation. Roundness of younger female faces compared to the chiseled male of the same age is in part because of the amount of fat. That broad notion that it is there and dont overlook it because everyone is fat in some amount the ideal person doesn't exist unless you are in a marvel universe with zero BMI, i personally didnt know much of its influence until someone told me to look into it. Anatomy for sculptors has a good visual guide in their books.

    Can you recommend any book or magazine for learn anatomy?

      @CGDreamsTutorials  2 года назад +1

      Hi. I certainly can. Book wise there are many but what I have used is Anatomy For Artist by Elliot Goldfinger, this gives you the details, and Anatomy For Sculptors by Uldis Zarins which is a great visual aid. Video training wise any by Sabin Howard, Rey Bustos, Ryan Kingsling, and Zack Petroc. As far as high-end courses online or in person Scott Eaton which I attended and found very good.
