@@throwdeo Check out my newest ammo video I just dropped 2 days ago.
Thank you for giving price per round. It helps me decide how much each cylinder of my .45 long colt is costing me for each cowboy action match. By knowing that I can plan on whether or not I have to make my wife and kids sell plasma to larp as the Delano Kid on any given weekend. Not that the family will get to join, they’re home eating saltines and chicken noodle soup to get their energy back.
If ammo prices ever go back down, they will never go down pre 2019.
Same happened with the Sandy Hook shooting. Took about 3-4 yrs for prices to settle down, but they never returned. I still remember pre 2012, 9mm fmj, 50 rounds was $8-9. 40 S&W $10-12.
One thing I remember the most out of this time was the different bullet weights you could get from a manufacturer.
For example: Federal 9mm FMJ, you had the options of 115 grain, 124 grain, 147 grain. Now its just 115 grain or 124 grain.
There is never a bad time to buy more ammo
I could agree with that
I buy bulk online.Haven’t paid for ammo in a store in I dont know how many years.
Thanks for watching
Where on line?? I don't see much (if any) difference after shipping costs. Help please.
im scared to calculate how much ive actually spent on ammo.
"Panic" = normals waking up for 5 min & seeing the truth, before shoving their hear back into the sand.
That's fair
I think prices is/or could be going down. A little panic could wipe the shelves clean again. An uptick in purchases could cause an upward creep. I buy very little but watch very closely using Walmart as my barometer. They aren't as reliable as a barometer as they once were after eliminating 2 whole categories of ammunition, but for me they are at least convenient. Hoping to see some manufacturer rebates this fall.
Agreed...thanks for watching
Well ammo is part of the military industrial complex. I’d just assume they crank the price whenever they like at this point kinda like gas
Possibly
Excellent value can be found right now by using the mini shotgun Shells practically speaking two for one prices against two and three-quarter inch shells. Recoil much less recoil and becoming very popular actors have been made for some standard shotguns. Case she holds 22+1
In CA we will be getting a 11% tax increase starting today sadly 😢
That really sucks! I wonder if that effects online sales? Or can you even buy ammo online?
I came to say this! It will more than likely get over turned but will take time. Such BS though
Can’t shipped to Cali … 😭
@@Skunk1337yes, it can be shipped to CA, but need to be shipped to a FFL (gun store) at your local area in CA, not to our doorstep. When the ammo package arrives at the gun store, the staff will handle the background check requirement. My local store usually charges $15 per shipment plus another $2-$3 per item on the invoice. The more items in the shipping, the more we need to pay due to time and space required for storage from the gun store. Not cheap after shopping and FFL fees.
I'm stocking up before I get stationed in CA. Good thing I'm getting paid by the pound for my relocation!
7:40 top shelf, great to see .40 get more affordable over time. Honestly thats not far off from what I get it for online. Ive always felt scheels wasnt too bad on prices. 10mm even in this vid still a bit overpriced and slim choices. Ill keep on mainly using .40 till 10mm becomes more viable and available.
I have found that 10mm is usually slim on choices. If you visit my excel spreadsheet you’ll see its limited compared to other pistol calibers
For those near a Sportsman Warehouse, they will price match (but only a very specific list of competitors). I got 9mm and 22 for much better prices than their shelf price
Thanks for watching
I get my sporting goods including ammo at my local sporting goods store. I live in a rural area and supporting my local gun store is important to me. No, they can't compete with Wally World for prices, but Wally World can't compete with the local store as a sporting goods store. (variety, used guns etc.)
Thanks for watching
Haven’t seen any price drops but all the academys and the bass pro near me are stocked full w all major calibers w a good amount of some more niche ones. Feels good having multiple options when going on a hunt or stocking up on range ammo.
Thanks for watching
Prices may be cheaper online but when you add the cost of shipping (which are currently ridiculous) you are better off just picking them up yourself. That is if your current store does not carry the ammo you use.
There are still a number of options with free shipping. So, if you're able to capitalize on that then it IS cheaper. But, I also agree that it would be cheaper (albeit slightly) to get it at the store.
Trust me, it’s way cheaper online for me even with shipping. My local 9mm 50 round boxes are $15-19 in Fl.
I don’t own any firearms or ammunition right now FYI for anyone watching. That being said yes in person cost a little more but I would buy ammo in person with cash and not with a credit card and delivery to my home address. I don’t buy ammo but that’s what I would do if I did
Buying online is cheaper by shopping around and choosing different calibers from various sellers with the best deals many have free shipping and some don't charge tax for out of state purchases, which is the best way I have noticed. only rarely do I buy off the shelf retail ammo unless it is a very good sale...
Thanks for watching
Went to academy in TEXAS today some of the ammo was the same price as walmart. Others five to ten bucks more, but they had everything.
Thanks for watching
If theyre truly going down we haven't seen this at our LGS as it recently went up about another 5%
Different markets will have different trends. California just had an 11% price hike due to a new law, east coast stores are always inflated and large markets (i.e. Dallas, Kansas City, Cheyenne, etc.) may have lower prices since inventory moves. What my videos intend to do is to show the trends from one market and determine if other markets follow suit.
Thanks for watching
That blazer 9mm I get for 11$ at academy when they have sales I just load up at least 1,000 rounds.
That’s the way to do it.
Nice! Thanks for watching
Yeah RK had them at 11.99 this week. Picked up another 400 rounds for the range this week. Looking to load up on some Federal Automatch 22lr if I can find 5c or less per round.
Thanks for the information!
Thanks for watching
Precisely why I only buy from bulk online deals.
Thanks for watching
For me, ammo's gone up...At least in stores. I was in Sportsman's Warehouse.. A box of Fiocci 9mm is $16.. Was $13.49 last year... It ain't RUclips rising prices, look into who you vote for...
Good point!
Thank you, sir!
Thank you for watching
Didn't see lower prices at my local Academy as of 7/9/24!
This is a snap shot of your tiny spec on the huge map called the United States of America.
Prices vary widely depending on your location.
What you report now where your standing is not irrelevant to the consumer in Alaska, in Texas, in Michigan to me in New Hampshire.
Correct…I have mentioned this in my other videos and how SmashTime is looking at pricing in Texas. Hopefully, it will encourage others to look at pricing in other regions so there is a more holistic look at pricing trends in the U.S.
TL;DW yes it is and there are plenty of primers on shelves now also.
Thanks for watching
Of we all stick together and don't but until w see a great price reduction, we'll reap the benifits. I think most pelt are doing OK just to stay full with gas, groceries, and CC bills. That's why the shelves are full imo.
Thanks for watching
It’s down from 2023, just pickup 2k of 124gr blazer brass, 11.99 a box
Thanks for watching
I typically try to shop around the holidays. Sales are always best and always remember a little at a time goes a long way. Online is coming to a hault for me. Unfortunately I live in a liberal state that wants to know what I buy 😅
Completely understand that...thanks for the comment
No way and now Ca has an added excise tax...no chance ammo prices are down.
I think it is all locale based. Where I am, prices are coming down slightly. But California is completely different for obvious reasons.
Overall prices are still going up. They definitely have not dropped.
9mm was between $.35-$.40/round a year ago and now it is $.28-$.30/round in my area. It is an incremental decrease but a decrease all the same
Over priced big time!!
Prices and availability won't last.... the US govt just signed a contract with the largest nitro cellulose manufacturer in America to buy 95% of all production for every batch from now until the Ukraine war ends... official announcement should b 1-3 weeks from now
Good intel...we will see what happens
Happily, there was very ittle panic buying around the beginning of the year, which has left shelves relatively full...the price might be a touch higher, but that should be expected, we'll never see super cheap ammo in brick and mortar stores again...a lot of folks are being cagey about their ammo, in our case we have reduced consumption, and are going back to more cheap bulk .22 at the range...I can find fmj in heavier calibers at relatively decent prices, and we rarely buy pure defensive ammo, as we hardly ever shoot the stuff (it sits pretty in the safe)...gotta hope the political scene doesn't get worse, and the world doesn't get worse, as major upsets move the needle overnight...carry on...
Thanks for watching
Are you at Academy ??? I was told they don't sell hollow points....... so paid $29.99 / box of 50 HST in 124 grain !!!
Yes they do. Your jurisdiction may have some weird law restricting that but every store I’ve ever been to has had them
@@FitnFire Yeah can't believe all employees , LOL !! I saw that it was $27.99 where you filmed this , but also looking for Speer Gold Dot 124gr. Thanks
Scheels is an awful indicator of price. They are ALWAYS high
LOLZ…you should go to Bass Pro 🤣
@@FitnFire realistically any of the big box stores suck. Order online, even with shipping it's way cheaper. I've encountered some mom n pop shops that do have competitive prices however.
And, 9mm is also AARP. 45 acp and 9 are about the same age.
It’s a joke, laugh
@@FitnFire I am laughing!!!
OMG, what is the paranoid scare tactic today. The ammo is plentiful or is gone? Is the prices up or down? Doesn't this get exhausting?
No, but your comment does
@@FitnFire Seriously, do you make money keeping people paranoid over nothing?
@@Buddha-of8fk do you make money floating thru life without the ability to think critically?
@@FitnFire l reload so l could really care less about the ammo bs. I don't play this retarded game. I understand, you have to keep your audience scared to keep them coming back. I was just wondering if it was exhausting.
Only in your dreams
I don’t and won’t play their game. I make my own ammo. !
PS. This all being said I’m happy for you guys that are dependent upon the manufacturers, now you’re able to shoot your rifles.
Reloading components are increasing faster than manufactured ammo. Powder is going to be impacted the most over the next few months.
Thanks pro 👍🏾
Thanks for watching
rural king destroys over half of these prices.....
Right on
Frickin highway robbery.
This story isn’t on the highway
Data points 😀
Data
not here in Commie California, just got an 11 percent tax added to already 10 percent, so the total is 21 percent
I'm not buying until everything goes down. If not, oh well.
So you're never buying ammo again? Prices won't go back to what you think/want them too...inflation combined with war combined with supply chain issues = Prices will stay up.
@@xxxlonewolf49 well I guess I'm not buying anymore
@@ironhorse8573 guess you will have fancy metal paper weights
@@xxxlonewolf49 yup 😏
失落的N年~直到永遠,AMEN!~🤣🤣🤣
Sure
no 40 S&W?
Nope, I’ll never price it since it is a pointless round.
Laughs in 460 magnum
*laughs in 45-70
@@FitnFire at least you can get those in Walmart :(
No, it's not the right time !
People need to stop buying things, so these prices will fall like a rock and get closer to normal.
These prices are still ridiculous on some of them !
Waste of time videos are becoming common with you folks.
Good job on missing the point of the video ^_^
@FitnFire
I got the point of the video. 🙄
My point is you're in the mindset of the prices are OK.
They're not OK at all !
The truth is that it's still a complete ripoff of my money.
Obviously, you don't understand how they are making a killing.
They buy in massive bulk and pay much cheaper for the bulk.
The equipment has been paid for many times over.
Most of the work is being done by machines and not people that means much less overhead.
Federal, Hornady, Winchester, Remington, Norma, and Sako make everything themselves.
Much less overhead !
The bottom line is They're still making a lot of money 💰 and those of You buying it now are the reason why it's not going down in price the way they should be.
@@MTCKIE68 cool story…hey, now tell me why eggs are nearly 4 times more expensive or the national average for fuel is currently $3.44? Ammunition is a market based industry and prices (regardless of overhead) have gone up due to supply chain costs increases. You may want to look into how businesses works before discussing how a business works.
My videos are showing market trends. If there is a plateauing effect in prices, maybe buying a little now might help people schedule training in the future, plan out hunting trips, or use it to barter with friends. No where did I say buy in bulk because we all know buying in bulk is cheaper. These videos are to illustrate market trends for a sector of the U.S. and my spreadsheet allows people to see a trend.
@@FitnFire
I didn't say anything about buying in bulk. I'm talking about buying Period. Buying 1 box is worse for you.
You do you, keep buying 80 grand trucks that cost less than 40 grand to build.
Keep buying eggs that cost $3 to 4 dollars when you can raise chickens and get eggs for less than 6 cents each and eat fresh chicken when they're done laying eggs.
The gas and oil is controlled by the government and the few owners in this country, there's plenty of it but they rather buy it and support terrorists countries.
Just like they are giving the Taliban 80 million dollars a week right now.
Pakistan 40 million, Iran 40 million, Humas has been given 400 million over the years and are getting 100 million now.
The real question is how many people do you know that Doesn't vote every election ?
That is the real issue !
Stop being lazy and learn to reload your ammo it's half the price easy and far better and more consistent than factory ammo but you wouldn't know !
@@MTCKIE68LOLZ…I do reload and it’s even MORE expensive. Good job 👍🏻 🤣
Prices are way too HIGH bro~!
Everything is high
Prices just went up cause of a 11 percent excise tax in california 🥱
I heard about that…that sucks
