Great video! I like to listen AND look. Bass end is a hard one to separate out the different areas by ear sometimes, especially kicks as a lot of the higher frequencies can marr your perception. One thing I do often is high cut down to 200hz on the Master channel and listen to the low end, slide it down lower and listen again. Compare it with commercial tracks in the same manner.
One of the most important take away for me - right at the beginning: Make the arrangement support the song, keep the best for the chorus. Very obvious, but I keep forgetting ... Otherwise improving the low end probably only makes sense for club mixes, as the audio equipment of 95 % of the listeners will not support these frequencies. Which probably increases the importance of a good arrangement. And yes, what's really missing is, how it sounds in the context of the song. Read several times that changes are mainly to be done in the context of the whole mix. But guess, for demonstration purposes it's ok.
The method and advices are great (how to built your energy from small to big in the last chorus) but too bad it's done on an unmixed track, we can't hear a really positif impact this processing is doing. That's the kind of decision you can make based on how's your mix is sounding
If my bass only gets the right low end with 10 plugins and 11 routing tricks, probably the sound is wrong. Simply use another bass sound. Layer many bass sounds can sometimes do the opposite - cancel out the bass frequencies. But as you said, there are no rules. Every one can do it he likes. Probably you wanted to showcase your plugins?
great vid. the animation running around the presenters vid from time to time is very disturbing though. its a course so you dont need to get us "hooked" to his window while we try to look what settings hes changing on the plugin.

First decision has to be what instrument will be providing your deepest Lows. Will it be kick drum, bass guitar, or synth sub?
EQ and occasionally multi band

Is the leapwing ultra vox plug-in a type of compressor? The visuals look so sick on this one!🔥
Yes it’s a vocal processor that includes compression
