It’s a cliche that teaching is a noble work! However, I do believe teaching is a noble job because we are moulding the brains of our future generation. (I have been a teacher myself for many years both in India and Nepal). When we look back with our own experience, we cannot but be grateful to our teachers at school especially those who have influenced us the most. In other words, who have made the biggest impression in our childhood. In my own experience, an English teacher from Exeter College in London has made the biggest impression in making me to think INDEPENDENTLY. INDEPENDENT THINKING is not much in vogue or encouraged in our Tibetan community. This I feel is a very important aspect of survival in life and I would encourage you (if you agree with me) to teach our Tibetan children the same which will stand them in good stead in future! The other aspect is not through a teacher but through once own initiative in reading about Indian freedom fighters such as Mahatma Gandhi to INSTIL NATIONALISM in our young children to carry the baton of the Tibetan freedom movement into the future! THIS WILL BE OUR PRESENT GENERATION’S LEGACY FOR THE FUTURE! All the best!

Thank you for the wonderful words and your sincere concern. Yes, I agree with you 100%. As we say..instead of giving our children fish, teach them HOW to fish. This concept is really important to be understood by all the educators in order to make our children independent!
