u aint washing dishes man.. spray the lube on the chain.. lubricate the inside of the chain links and the outside.. u can clean the chain with your method but this aint chain lubrication.. not good at all

Anyways, I am not your Daddy, your allowed to lubricate as you please.
Just use a heavy engine oil and a paintbrush. It's quicker and a lot cheaper!
I found paint brushes leave brush hairs on the chain. But it’s cool. Heavy oil is good
Thats some sound advice. I tend to put some cardboard behind the chain but the lube drips on the floor. I probably waste 50% of the lube
Sponges are cheap too. 89p for a pack of ten
