Just recently platinumed all 3 KH games. My favorite games of all time. Each game comes with their own headaches but very rewarding when done with all 3! Best of luck.

Another strategy for Sniper Wilds:
Stand on the higher walkway, right against the edge of the railing, standing between the two entrances to the Hotel.
Thunder can hit all Moneys, including the wave of 3. Load D&G with Mega Ethers, Goofy with MP Gift, and stock up equipment and weapons that grant MP.
I only ever have to defeat them once (and typically before the Riku II fight) because with that method you can defeat all sets of them.

The blue door of Monstro (the glow when you approach a door) shows it will take you to the ship!! AKA the entrance!
Green glow shows that it takes you to the next part of the whale!!!!
3:30 I know this is a bit off-topic for the video, but, I believe that the "floating heart" screen is essentially the same as what happens in Kingdom Hearts 3: Basically, Sora is defeated countless times (possibly) throughout each game, and he unconsciously uses the power to overwrite reality so that he can continue and redo past events until he's able to overcome them.
So, I theorize that KH3 gives context to this screen in the sense that, by the end of KH3, Sora becomes aware of the power he already had, and the journey through the different worlds in KH3 "woke up" that ability to try over and fix things.
I might be wrong, but if there's any truth to that, that also makes for an interesting conclusion: Maybe the profecy about light expiring has already happened countless times every time Sora loses, including Yozora defeating Sora, and that very same event was what triggered Sora to awaken to his power in order to overwrite those events, not only in KH3, but in every game, at least to the extent of "starting somewhere along the journey".
That’s a pretty fun theory, I’m here for it
@@CompletionistTrav Thank you, and, by the way, I just remembered that Sora did have a "heart" screen when fighting Xehanort. Then he started to hear Goofy and Donald, almost like they were calling him after being knocked-out. If it's the way I imagine, the moment Goofy and Donald started defending Sora against Xehanort's beam, was also the moment that Sora probably used his ability after he came back, probably like Donald and Goofy reaching out to Sora's heart, almost like that specific moment was a "canon continue" or something like that.

The Oogie fight in the chamber has always been my favorite fight in the first game, I love how the arena looks and all the different stuff he can do with the dice.

If you speed through the game, taking the Coliseum route and then the Halloween Town world route, as well as skipping cutscenes you can complete the game in about 8hrs. That's without trying to synthesis anything too. I did it all on easy mode, because of the plethora of Atk, Def, and Ap up you get at the beginning of the game.

I got Platinum on every Kingdom Hearts game available on 1.5, 2.5, and 2.8 (1, Re:CoM, 2, BbS, 3D, and 3), and got all of the trophies on 0.2. I only have some Re: Mind trophies (which I can't get at the moment), and MoM, but I haven't played it in a while. It wasn't easy to do, but it felt rewarding!

@@CompletionistTrav you're welcome, I know that it isn't easy, and I actually didn't do a 100% completion, but I did manage to get 100 hits on the Pink Agaricus and grind out enough Mithril and other synthesis items to make enough Strength, Defense, and AP UP items to get Sora to 100 strength and defense, and enough AP to equip all of the abilities that were not leveling up or material grinding on Proud Mode. I will never do it again

If anyone remembers the old GamePro magazines, they had a full guide for the original KH on PS2! It was one of the first games I finished 100%. Good times! Watching this makes me want to replay and finish my platinum! (Cant call myself a true fan if I dont have the platinum!!!) Also, well done and great video Trav!

I could be wrong but I vividly remember being able to get the unchanging armor trophy while still being able to equipped abilities, so I was surprised to see you not put on Scan.

Ok now I’m thinking of platinuming the entire series (1, recom, 2, days, bbs, recoded, ddd, 2.8 fragmentary passage, union cross back cover, 3 and melody of memory)
The whole series is said to be roughly 700 hours for 100% completion which is why I limited myself to 1, 2 & 3 for now lol

Wow congratulations on getting the platinum! I myself endured getting every 100% in the series (there are 15 trophy lists in the series, 12 including a platinum, and 3 'games' without a plat). I'm excited to see you continue your Platinum journey!

@@CompletionistTrav awesome news! Just never attempt the PS3 version of KH1 cause that Platinum is 10000% harder. They reworked the trophies to be much easier on the PS4 version lol.

@@CompletionistTravoh no, what’s harder is that in the ps3 version the final gummi ship trophy is for I think every gummi ship blueprint which requires every mission 3 done. That or it was just every mission 3, either way the gummi ship for platinum is so unfun.

On STANDARD, the tunnel fight before Final Rest took me about 10-15 tries spaced out across a week. Once I got past the all-Invisibles wave, I didn't die once. Just goes to show how some things can be challenging to one person and easy for another.
Also, this has probably been said before, but there is a way to cheese the dragon fight. Make sure you have plenty of potions and climb/fly onto a high branch in the back of the room. She can't hit you there (except for her heat-seeking fireballs), and D&G will do most of the work for you.
Honestly looking back on it I could’ve easily cleared every trophy on Proud (I’ve since done KH2/3 on Critical) but I agree. You never know what challenges you’ll come across no matter the game/difficulty, that’s why I have people who judge how others game. It’s so annoying because everybody learns/enjoys at their own pace.

29:26 I know it's a weird time stamp but I would love to see you do the secret bosses on proud actually. I realize that's technically adding more difficulty than necessary to get the achievement.
And of course you're do it the way that makes the most sense and most fun for you. It's more if I just want to see your opinion of the bosses as they're proud versions versus the easy ones. And if not if these ones at least the critical ones from 2 and 3. ^•^

Sephiroth is actually pretty easy to cheese. You can just spam Ars Arcanum or Strike Raid and take him out pretty trivially. Just don't let him use that move that cuts your HP to 1
I just don’t like cheesing bosses for these videos, God forbid I do that and get 70 people who’ve never been on a date telling me I’m not a real gamer 🤣
Good way to level up, but part of the challenge is to take him head on! It's such a fun and challenging fight that way!

I decided to go after this plat recently. Honestly got the 15hr trophy not even knowing its a trophy lol. I just played the game like normal. But yeah I will need to play through it AGAIN cuz I didnt know I couldn't swap my equipment either. But its easier this way
Originally I was going to do 3 playthroughs to do it but realizing how much time that was going to take I decided against it and I’m glad I did.
Im not so sure i would describe 100 acre woods as having "fun" minigames lol.

The Mysterious Figure on Proud Mode is an absolute DEMON. It took me several days to figure out the guy's pattern and figure out how to get him down... not even Sephiroth was as difficult.
That is a fight I’ll dread when I inevitably go back and play the game again lol

Thank you! It's an absolute blast, some parts definitely take the wind out of your sails but for the most part it's a 10/10. I use source recording so technically my camera and gameplay (and audios) are always separate.

Level 1 Damage Storage is pretty OP of a glitch in the game....
Damage Storage with genie or mushu just melts the game.
I discovered that before my Proud Mode fight with Ansem, ended up using it during the first round.

admitedly i was disapointed at the trophy for beating under certain time
that was a really fun one for me i blindly speedran the game in easy to the best of my abilities
and ended up beating it in like 5 hours
even in easy if you underlevel and dont change equipment can get difficult
For sure! A mix of not changing equipment and knowing the synthesis grind can be a pain I figured why not just enjoy the first playthrough.
Of the KH games KH 1 is my favorite as it's a lot of fun & the story is very well done. This was before the franchise got absurdly complicated

And, yes, that Evil Ansem fight after the Darkside. Even after all these years, even on Beginner, I have *never* got past it.
It’s definitely a tough one! That being the hardest part of the final boss is wild to me considering the sheer size of the end Ansem.

Congrats on your platinum! I loved this getting my own! Though, I did do it a little differently. I started with a Proud run where I maxed out Sora and did everything. Then, I did an easy speedrun with the unchanging armor. I'm glad you had a good time 🙂

I know it's too little too late, but disney bosses tend to really not like the Stop spell. This paired with Kh 1's broken magic system where more magic is better than any other stat makes for a much easier time, especially against maleficent. A few summons also can make life much easier.
I used Tinkerbell against Maleficent after a few tries, I was attempting to get through it without using summons as an unspoken challenge but it didn’t happen so I never brought it up haha

I got the speedster, proud player, undefeated, unchanging armor at level 1 all at the same time so i wouldnt have to do multiple play throughs, took me 10 days to finish the game, not bad with working 10 hours a day then coming home and banging out achievements while watching my son, then took 2 more days to 100% the rest of the achievements. so 12 days to get them all. One of my absolute favorite games when i was a kid, remember seeing the commercials come on TV and begging my dad for it

@@CompletionistTrav thanks. For me, the hardest trophies were getting all of the weapons for Sora, Donald, and Goofy. You basically have to do everything and synthesizing everything was grueling.
Synthesizing is definitely tough. I think the most annoying weapon to get is the one staff for Donald that only has a .02% drop rate from the little wizard heartless.

i recently finished getting tha plat on every kingdom hearts game. Every. Kingdom. Hearts. Game. it was worth it i for sure say go for it for kingdom hearts 2 it was pretty fun, kingdom hearts 3 was easy, bbs long but worth it, dream drop distance is a big no, re chain of memories is okay/worth it and melody of memories is no :P. i hope i see one of these titles in the future.
First off congrats on getting all of them, that’s sick! I’ll for sure be doing 2 & 3 but the rest are TBD since I have a lot of other projects coming down the line. As much as I love Kingdom Hearts I don’t want to get pigeonholed into being a “kingdom hearts creator” you know?

@@CompletionistTrav it's a delight, especially when they get stuck and then you have to save the day. Beginner mode kind of makes things too easy though.
Great playthrough though!!!, I did the Ultima Weapon grind on the PS2 and it was far easier. Now it feels like you only get to use it for Ansem.

To be honest I wish they would have made a critical mode for this game because by the time I beat it on the PS4 version after beating the original PS2 and PS3 remaster it was so easy and boring. Even the bosses were easy and the Ice Titan gave me the most trouble because of how tedious it was and I was impatient and didn't feel like grinding for gear to max out my ice resistance.
After doing KH2, 3 & BBS on Crit same. I wish I would've just done this in one playthrough on Proud in the first place but would love Critical being added sometime down the line.
also about the path selection, for anyone playing this after watching, trash the sword. trashing the staff reduces max mp and you cant get much mp in this game.

Release order is how you should always play these games. It makes everything simple since you’re going with the evolving plot.
I finished all KH games so far (except MoM) it took me about 9-10 months to get them all

I remember I had all the bosses beaten on an old save, I wish I was able to restore it because I even had the crown in kh2. I just went into these secret bosses at level 100. 😂

the game on beginner without changing the equipment and not pressing continue is harder than proud mode imo

I'm pretty sure the no equipment run would be way easier on proud since you can abuse exp zero
