    I used to take the elastic string out of my socks and use that to entertain myself. Rap it around my fingers, pull on it, etc.

    • @BMarie774
      @BMarie774 5 лет назад +4

      May I also suggest FatheringAutism? The mother and father on that channel have a daughter who's autistic and they are extremely educational about all things autism and Aspergers. Their son also has a channel called BrotheringAutism where he gives his prospective of having a sibling with autism. Every year they do videos like "Easter Basket for An Autistic Child" or "Christmas Stocking for An Autistic Child" and they also review a lot of products as well as do "vlog" style videos showing what day to day life is life. It's educational but they also mix in reality and their day to day life in many videos. One thing you might find helpful is their videos discussing getting over the hardship of learning your child is in the spectrum. It actually took them a really long time to get diagnosed, and early intervention didn't happen very "early" for them as they were on waiting lists. And they discuss how the diagnosis was a bit hard in some ways. But one quote they say is that the day they got the diagnosis, they walked out with the same child they walked in with. Nothing changed. It was still their child. And I think that's important to remember. It can be hard hearing that diagnosis but just remember you walked in with the same little boy that you walked out with.

    I have autism too. I have high-functioning autism, anxiety, some trates of depression, sensory processing disorder, panic disorder, and most likely PTSD. I'm also totally blind. My I-Phone and I-Pad talk to me, and they tell me what I write, or what someone's comments, messages, posts, or other things say. Or I use a bluetooth keyboard which is paired to my phone and I-Pad. Or I also use a braille note. Which is like a type writer and a computer. I like to keep the voice off on it, because I can just read everything on the braille display at the bottom of the device. I love to collect stim toys. I would really like an indoor swing sometime.

    Funny how I owned each of those at one time or at least got them on my amazon wishlist. Except the chewing ring, even I like to have something between my lips when I'm really concentrated, like a Lego when I was younger and planning what to build. Today I often just put my fist to my mouth and make one finger being slightly between the lips - not putting it in my mouth. Indeed I really hate things in my mouth the further it's in the higher the chance I start to panic.

    It looks like the fidget cube is a knock off which disappoints me, since the official ones are so good! I got one at a video game store (called EB Games in Canada, GameStop in US) but they stopped selling them when they weren't a fad. My favourite is the Tangle Jr, and I really want to try their textured ones since they seem really cool! The biggest thing about it is that it's small and quiet, but you don't even have to be looking at it, so I can take it to class and still watch the board/screen. I kinda either grew out of chewing things, or was grossed out by sticking things in my mouth without cleaning them, so it was too much work and I gave up. But the switch on the cubes, as well as the metal marble are my favourite. I used to turn computer mice over and play with the ball on the bottom, so the metal part reminds me of that.

    6:15 i really want that. I dont have autism or anything but constantly do “flappy hands” which i have been made fun of before because of it. I think it would really help but i dont think i would be allowed to get it :(

    So I'm really chewy but I don't want to buy a chewigem toy since I'm scared they squeak. A lot of times when you chew on rubber it will squeak every now and then if your teeth like glide next to it. I don't know how to explain it really but does anyone have experience with them? Do they make any sounds at all?

      They do not squeak, well the ones I have don’t. Thank you so much for the comment! Please subscribe to my channel to see more videos from me :).

    Also a good figet "toy" is a wallet chain
    I play with mine when sitting down all the time in class , I rub mine and stuff omg it calms down my anxiety tbh
    It helps so freaking much
    Lucky I go to a tiny school and their only 6 other kids in my class at most ( before the virus) it works
    Also my sis fiance got my a thing to hook onto my belt loop for my house key And I spin that thing , and click it and stuff or just rub on it or twist my key and it works so well
    I wish I knew what it was call tho or describe it better , and it has rainbow dash on it

    For some reason I like biting and chewing but I don't have a chewy bracelet or necklace. When I am alone, I grab one of my rubber bracelets and chew on that.

    Is there anyone else here who has the triple threat of Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, ADHD and Autism? There is apparently a significant connection.

    One thing I've found is playing with kinetic sand, I've also got a co2 pistol gel blaster that you can rack the slide and release it. Gives that nice click clack sound. Pisses my wife off too no end but I don't care LOL. Do you find like tight fitting clothing helps with the anxiety with and? I find it helps. Anybody else here the same?
