Simply sublime. Like someone else said, this is gonna be the definitive mix for me and I think you did a fantastic job. On a side note though, I've always wondered why the song ends so abruptly. Would Brian have ever planned a fade out or was that the way it was going to be? Hmmm...
I think it would be great for it lead into the part 1 tag. I know it's unlikely that's what Brian intended, but I just can't get it out of my head for some reason.
@@williamruiz5965 Yeah, I think that could sound pretty good. Man, I really want to make a Smile mix someday, but I just don't have the motivation to right now, lol.
great mix. any info on all of the individual pieces of artwork for these tracks? do you know when they were made, and where to find full size versions of them? thanks :)
I can’t believe I’m hearing this at this level of clarity. Just mind blowing. Is this all from the original instrumental, or did you source alternate takes as well?
The backing track is from The SMiLE Sessions and it is an alternate take. Unfortunately the master take has been lost including the lead vocal. All we have is the mono mix, but I managed to make it work with the alternate backing track.
@@Anonymuse_ Will the arrangement be based on how it was ordered for the 1966 version on the friends box set or will it be more like the smile sessions version with the intro?
Wonderful version 3 piano with added backing vocals - accented "Do, Do." That piece seems intended as backing, but it's in A major. Has anyone had luck pitching those vocals correctly to the Harpsichord version?
@@Anonymuse_ Love the Harpsichord version. Music theory is not my strong suit. The Mono mix is A♭ minor, Version 3 pitch down to A ♭ major, but I'm clueless on how to pitch vocals from major to minor. 🤷♂
Beautiful. One of the best songs Wilson and Parks ever wrote. I also like this cover art, never seen it before
Yeah I couldn't find a HQ version of this cover art so I made it on Photoshop.
Beautiful! Great work as always. Love how the instruments are separated.
Oh, and the backing vocals too!
great job! this is the clearest i think ive ever heard the song, defo the definitive mix for me
Superb mix, sounds great on my hi-fi separates. My speakers are wide apart. Superb stereo mix.
This is an insane mix wow
Best mix of this song, probably will be till the end of time
Wonderful!
🔥🔥🔥
Beautiful! I first heard this on a bootleg that I bought in 1985. It's mind-boggling.
Wonderful, Anony
Beautiful work!
Enjoyed.

@@Providence..I get what you mean lol
Very cool! I like how you used a single-tracked Brian vocal- at least, it sounds like that!
Beautiful, great job. What's that sound I hear? A ukulele?
Yeah it's on the mono mix, it was really tough trying to extract it.

@@Anonymuse_ Gotcha, I’m impressed you made the alternate take work so well. That ukulele overdub from the master must’ve been such a pain to isolate!
You have no idea hahaha!
Horns sound clean, but I like to hear the yodels mixed louder.
This is definitely the definitive stereo mix of this song. Any plans to make a mix of Child is Father to the Man?
That's gonna be my next upload, how did you know? 😁
@@Anonymuse_ Thank god, there’s quite literally not a single good mix of that song in stereo anywhere lmao
Trust me, it sounds so good.

Piano Intro - Version 1 Verse Insert - Version 2 Chorus - Version 2 Verse - Version 1 Chorus - Bridge (Coda)
Harpsichord?

I tried that like a year ago and unfortunately it doesn't sound good at all.

@@UnderTheCovers1 you could probably do it in melodyne but it would be tedious to do the voices individually
