@jalapeno.tabasco what new truths are being revealed??? Other than the Gospel of Jesus Christ? This is why Peter tells us in 1 Peter 3:15 to be ready to have an answer for the reason of the hope that is in us. That word answer means, from the Greek, Apologia, from where we get the word "apologize" which simply means to have an answer....what Peter is talking about is apologetics or telling us as believers to defend the hope that is in us...to be apologists of the Gospel. We do this by 2 Timotht 2:15 and Jude makes the same argument in Jude 1-4....."contend earnestly for the faith"...the word "contend means " to take a position in argument" it is from a Greek word which means "to wrestle" in wrestling you have an opponent you must try to take down. To do so earnestly is to do so in sincerity and with conviction. We are to argue our position as we do not wrestle against flesh and blood.....and our weapons are not carnal. We are to preach the Word ( 2 Timothy 4:2). Because there are no new truths there are no new objections. We know how to refute everyone. Because the same objections when Christianity started are the same ones that exist today. Only the Doctrine of Christ was a radically new doctrine and they were persecuted even more back then. Today we can defend against the same objections using God's unchanging Word and stance against sin....All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:25). In short, Matthew 7:13-14. Thera are 2 gates, 2 paths, 2 crowds. 1 gate is narrow, 1 is wide. 1 path is easy, 1 path is hard. 1 path leads to destruction, 1 path leads to life. 1 crowd is many and the other crowd is few. The road we travel on as Christains is hard and filled with persecution, it's in the middle of the crowd walking that path to the wide gate and the way is easy for them. We will be taunted, apposed, mistreated, abused and even put to death. But God, is our provider, he is our guide....and he gives us a mouth of wisdom that our adversaries will not be able to refute against nor resist. Again, there are no new truths being revealed about the gospel of our Lord and Savior Jeseus Christ. FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH. AMEN!
Yes! Thank you, Corey! I very often use this passage to argue that someone can have all their prophecies come to pass and they can _still_ be a false prophet. We don't only test the validity of the prophecy, but the spirit behind the prophecy. Only the Holy Spirit will point to Jesus. Unholy spirits will point to anything other than Jesus.

This always smacks me in the face when I hear about prophets. Revelation 19:10 NKJV [10] And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” "If you aren't talking about Jesus, what are you really talking about"..
Funny to see the intro and them saying they get it wrong sometimes. Let’s see what the Bible says about those “prophets” that get it wrong just once. 😂😂
I can’t.😔 Being a prophet is not a “cushy” job. Prophets of the Lord were killed for telling the truth. Jeremiah prophesied and was imprisoned, and mocked for his prophecies to the point where he wanted to quit (Jeremiah 20). He was even labeled as being a “self-appointed” prophet, even after numerous of his prophecies came to pass (Jeremiah 29). Then there is the warfare from the Devil, the adversary of the truth and those who tell it.
This is such a convenient excuse we use in this century. We don’t read in scripture that the ancient prophets said ‘l get it wrong sometimes’. From what l read in scripture the prophets spoke “What thus says the LORD”. Beyond this the prophets were in trouble.

The Lord does not limit the scope of his dreams or visions. Therefore, they may apply to the recipient, group, or a combination of both. God spoke to King Abimelech of Gerar in a dream to return Abraham’s wife or he would die, He told Jacob which livestock would reproduce and when to leave Laban’s house, and warned King Nebuchadnezzar to humble himself or he would be cut down for a season. When the Lord gives a person a dream for him or herself, one way or another, it will also benefit others. For example, the Lord spoke to King Solomon in a dream about what He would do for him, but Solomon’s wisdom received during that dream benefitted others in Israel and across the world (1 Kings 3). Making a distinction between a prophet and a dreamer of dreams shows that while both individuals may receive visual revelations from the Lord, a person who has a dream is not always a prophet, such as Pontus Pilate’s wife. Yet, in accordance with the Lord’s Words in Numbers 12 and Joel 2 (which Peter reiterated in Acts 2), dreams and visions are among the ways the Lord communicates.
3:00 you mention save/salvation. This is so frustrating to see people thinking they can dedicate themselves to Christianity and literally think they are saved. Deceptive belief of redemption. Corey I just have one question or maybe a statement about false prophets as you have defined. Jonah gave a false prophecy before God sent him to Nineveh. By that definition he would have been a false prophet. Just a thought.
Jonah didn't give a prophecy before going to Nineveh. But you may be referring to the claim made by Jehovah Witnesses and Mormons that Jonah's prophecy about Nineveh's destruction didn't come true. The people of Nineveh repented so God did not destroy them at that time. Jonah realizes this and becomes angry with God.
No he actually gave an accurate prophesy because if you read Jonah 3 you will see God tell Jonah to give them the judgement that God told him to do, and in Jonah 1 refers to the same, God telling Jonah to cry against it meaning speak against it whatever the message was. But they repented and because they repented, God showed mercy and that’s why Jonah got mad. So in other words Jonah went to warn them and to let them know about the judgement that will be coming.
