    Always love to see Dwellings. Played it for the first time in 2024 and fell in love, one of my top 5 currently. Haven’t played Scythe, but will be trying it for the first time in a few days. Long overdue and excited for it

      I definitely think there is a good overlap between people who enjoy Dwellings and people who will enjoy Scythe! -Ryan

    Great lists again, boys! A Feast for Odin, Race for the Galaxy, War of the Ring, and Ark Nova are all up there for me. I have always wanted to play Dwellings of Eldervale, Underwater Cities, Too Many Bones, and Final Girl. Can't wait to see the top 10!

    Good list guys. I wanna add that me and my brother have been playing War of the Ring and can play it in like an hour and 20, now that we both know it okay. We both don’t know it super well but I think we could get it a little closer to an hour

    • @RollsInTheFamily
      @RollsInTheFamily  5 месяцев назад

      Impressive! I definitely think the play time could come down a ton with a consistent partner, but playing it once every few years with a new player slows things down a lot as I relearn it and teach it fresh haha. Maybe when my kids get older! 🤞 -Ryan

    I would love to try a feast for Odin, underwater cities and ultimate railroads. Those are the ones that tempt me the most from this list. Still somewhat new to gaming so I'm trying to do 20 years of missed gaming experience crammed into the past 8 years that I've actually been in the hobby. Haha. Excited for the top 10 and the giveaway. I Appreciate your channel!

      I only have a few cinema packs for it, huge difficulty jump from camp happy trails to station 2891

    • @RollsInTheFamily
      @RollsInTheFamily  5 месяцев назад

      That's awesome! And yeah, Station 2891 is one of the most complicated sets haha, though I find that some of the complex ones (Into the Void being another example) can also be the most rewarding and interesting once you are really comfortable with the system.
      I actually have a whole video ranking the S1 & S2 content haha: ruclips.net/video/-5KTSbE6lCE/видео.htmlsi=d8SawKwR-1PcN7SS

    Man I am trying to decide between feast for odin and loranzo since forever... could you tell me how you feel about the decision?

    • @RollsInTheFamily
      @RollsInTheFamily  4 месяца назад +1

      Two great games...
      I'd say A Feast for Odin is a little more sandbox-y and forgiving, with an emphasis on the resources doubling as pieces in a spatial puzzle. It is longer, and the variability and powers are more subtle with minor card effects.
      Lorenzo is extremely tight and has more of a focus on building up an effective tableau of card effects, with pretty drastic powers and abilities once you play with the Houses of the Renaissance modules and leader cards. The worker placement feels a lot more tense with only 3 workers and the way that things get more expensive or less efficient if other players go to an area first.
      Can't go too wrong, but I guess Daniel and I both rank Lorenzo a little higher, and paired with being a little shorter and cheaper, that would probably edge out as our recommendation, unless you prefer a less tight and challenging experience haha.

    So I have a copy of ark nova but haven’t played it yet.
    How much of a learning curve is it in comparison to terraforming mars?

    • @RollsInTheFamily
      @RollsInTheFamily  5 месяцев назад +1

      We would put it in the same complexity level as Terraforming Mars. It's got a lot going on and it takes a bit to get used to the hand management and pacing, but the slick card action-selection mechanism helps to simplify the decision space a bit since you want to try to use your actions that are furthest to the right to be most efficient.
      If you like Terraforming Mars, I think there is a pretty high chance you'll like Ark Nova too!

      @@RollsInTheFamily it’s a fantastic game, warts and all haha. It was actually kinda my introduction to the modern hobby, my brother brought it over 4 years ago and blew my mind haha. And there is just. so. much. content. No way will I ever get it all. And especially The Elder Scrolls coming up looks amazing, can’t wait for that.

    Just curious, are the played stats strictly physical plays or do you both also include digital plays as well? It might've been mentioned but missed it if so. Have enjoyed the videos, thanks for the content 🤠

    • @RollsInTheFamily
      @RollsInTheFamily  5 месяцев назад +1

      Hi! They technically include both (as long as the digital plays are still real-time with other people), but most of our plays are physical! Daniel and I have started playing digitally a little more frequently since we live in different states, but the larger majority of our plays are still in person. -Ryan

    The google form says no longer accepting responses. It is only 3 days since this video went up, and #10-1 isn't up yet. So, how is the contest closed?

    • @RollsInTheFamily
      @RollsInTheFamily  5 месяцев назад +1

      Hi! In order to announce the winners in our video this upcoming Friday, we needed to lock in the responses at the time of filming that video, which was this morning.
      I originally had the wrong date listed in the form (said it was locking even sooner), but corrected that a few days ago. Sorry if you missed it, we will do it again next year!
