I'm very honored to own a 2024 GR Corolla. It's a car that feels like it jumped straight out of my dreams and into reality! They nailed it with a family-friendly, daily-able, fun to drive car. Coming from a variety of fun cars (WRX, BRZ, GTI, and most recently, an NA Miata) I really appreciate the purity of the car, yet the refinement of a modern car.
I'm happy to hear Toyota continue to develop the car and also make it appeal to a wider audience. I think that is going to be the key to continue getting cars like this to continue selling.
In some previous videos, Toyota engineers talked about their continuous improvement philosophy accessible to existing owners. Will some of these MY25 upgrades be available for early adopters like us? Hope so! (looking at you, torque bump)

My GR Corolla is definitely part if my story. I use to be in the car scene before I got into bikes. The GR Corolla made me love driving again. Driving use to be a chore for me. Now I find every excuse to drive. My GRC had 3 miles in January this year when i picked it up, I'm at 9500 miles now. Kudos to the GR team.

As a fellow biker, the level of engagement from the GR really makes a perfect daily for me. Especially in the winter months when my bike is stored away in the garage. It is so much fun to drive around town even at slower speeds, but if I need to have some more fun I’ll just hop on the Panigale V4 😂

If you've followed the GR Corolla development, you'd know they really rushed it out probably a year or two early but needed to get it out so it has enough years on the market before the next Corolla chassis comes out in roughly 2025/2026. The circuit aero was never completed before the cars were released so they just threw block off plates in the front bumper and really just slapped on a rear wing. It's also why this year it received steering updates, rear suspension updates in addition to the aero updates. Now receiving even more suspension updates, cooling, and aero upgrades. Made the sensible move tuning the rear torque split to variable due to the overheating issues. Now they bumped the power so everyone is at Morizo level but they need to figure out why engines are blowing and catching on fire in addition to hopefully addressing the weak clutch in the car. Unfortunately I think the results are showing the GR Corolla is getting a bit of catching up and growing pains from being the back seat of the GR Yaris. The original GR Corolla basically is a GR Yaris drivetrain and GR Yaris parts as the rear of the GR Yaris is a Corolla. Now it's getting its first specific GR Corolla upgrades... But got to fix the engine fire issues.
