- Walking tours are back! This is the first of a new series of walking tour around London and its' most famous areas. Today we are kicking off with Mayfair, the most expensive spot on the Monopoly board. We will venture through the iconic affluent streets, including Burlington Arcade, Berkley Square and New Bond Street. From luxury shops, local bars and some of the fanciest cakes money can buy.

I agree. I’m also from Oregon. I just spent the month off June in London. It was very hot and muggy and no rain. Love London. It’s like a second home for me. Hannah does a fabulous job showing us the city.
I agree! I live in Sweden and started to visit London for the first time 9 years ago and it just made me aware that im apparently very interested in architecture, didn't have a clue. Since then we visit London almost every year and I just love going around watching the different buildings.
I was just in Portland Oregon and a street bum beat a senior citizen at a bus stop. For no reason. Hundreds of bums and drug problems- disgusting.

As someone who loved Georgette Heyer novels in her teens, this walk around Mayfair feels like visiting the locations of so many of those books. London certainly has the most beautiful buildings and parks.

I love your vlogs, Hannah! I really enjoyed seeing all the beautiful architecture, storefronts and food! I love architecture and thank you so much for taking the time to show all the details. The stone floral details are so beautiful on those brick buildings. I also loved the skinny buildings and the Tudor style pub. I enjoy doing urban sketching (drawing and painting street scenes in a journal) and there is so much that I would love to draw in London. I would also be in much better shape if I lived in London where I could do all that walking and it wasn’t like 42 degrees c where I live in Texas! It’s just too hot 🥵! Thank you so much for the vlog!

My great grandfather was born in the shadow of Grosvenor Square (true). The square was lined with very large houses. Only 2 remain. The rest is fairly new. Talk to us sometime about your ancestors.

This is an utterly lovely tour of Mayfair and surroundings. Thank you so much for the walkabout! That raspberry torte in Connaught nearly broke my brain it looked so fantastic. The architecture is pristine, and I really appreciate just how put together and well-maintained the streets themselves are.

A Mayfair local told me in the Audley Arms that there is an invisible veil that once you enter the area it is a world unto itself.

Great video Hannah. Purdey at Audley house are probably the most famous hand crafted shotguns and rifles in the world. Hand built and engraved , orders can take years to be completed. . There are other very high end gunmakers but Purdey is the best known. Unsure what a "London best" gun would command these days , but £250k up is a reasonable sort of guesstimate. I think they are owned by LVMH these days. They also do very high end country clothing and accesories, leather goods and all.
Swaine in the Burlington Arcade, have a long term association with Indiana jones, from memory they were the makers of his original hat, back when Harrison Ford was a young whippersanpper . Swaine also do various luxury goods, if you feel the need to spend £1000 on a brolly, that's the place 🙂

Great vlog! Perfect weather for taking us around Mayfair. I realized I never really did more than pass through that neighborhood on my previous trips to the city. Now you've got me planning to pop around to check out a few places (def. getting some of that Ralph Lauren coffee) my next trip. Re: the architecture - I'm always fascinated by the mews homes. The idea that they have those big garage doors for the old carriage and horses, but have been converted to proper homes seems so quirky to me. Do they keep the doors on the outside for historical/aesthetic purposes, but plaster the inside to make them normal walls inside the home? Can't wait for the next day out with you!

Hi Hannah, I LOVE IT; as you said 😃 I noticed the editing style of this vlog is different. Please accept my words as a real friend, not just a follower of your RUclips channel. I love the 1st transition effect at 00:00:33 more than the 2nd one at 00:03:23 (I know your new video editor wants to give us a feeling of the building in the old days). I love your editing style more. Also, the colour correction could be better; maybe you filmed your vlog after 12 pm, and your video editor tried to correct the sunlight/sunbeam reflection on the face. (avoid to filme any video between 12 pm till 3 pm). I loved when he added a dissolve audio effect at the music's beginning and end (super professional, 110%).

❤ Thank you. It will be soon 4 years since my magical week in London. All plans were turned upside down because of Covid. Many commitments at home prevent me from going back any time soon. Though it is sometimes a bit painful, too much nostalgia, I am so grateful to be able to walk through London again, with a wonderful guide.
