I applaud you sir. Stevie Winwood and his music has supported my days and life's experiences since being a much younger pup to a 63 yo today.. Thinking we're both better off today just pausing for a while Mr John Leahey and listening to Stevie's music and forgetting the turmoils occurring outside of our homes. @@m.a.c.8366How wonderful to hear from you, M.A.C. To my young ears then , SW was the vocal, and keys. Both so brilliant. Keep on Runnin', Somebody Help Me, and others, challenged my young guitar fingers...and then came Traffic, and Medicated Goo et al. My young band fragmented in 1969, but Blind Faith beckoned, and I'm still trying to find my way home. John Barleycorn helps sometimes. SW has of course repercharged over the years, sometimes, and to me, it's so exciting...every time.
But despite his seeming creative absences, there is never a gap for me at least. He strikes me as a humble, but deeply talented musician, artist and person. I have seen him play live but once, here on Queensland, just a few years ago with Steely Dan. He sits deeply with me. Still, he isnt alone. Gordon Lightfoot, Carly Simon, Paul Simon, Ian Anderson, Carlos Santana and many, many others also sit strongly in my life.
We live on a world of so many travel barriers, but maybe one day , where I now live on the Gold Coast in Australia, might be a tad closer to Dallas....and that pint. Take care. John

Steve your voice and fingers are a blessing from God .......your arrangement and performance of Crum's words, based as they are on the words of Jesus in John's Gospel and Paul in 1 Corinthians 15 are masterful. I've always suspected you were a believer Steve, now I know it for sure. He is an English country farmer that just happens to be one of the musical greats. I love his recordings out in Cotswolds, the one by the crackling fire. The only thing missing is some farm animals - maybe the next one.

"Someone is crying to be heard", on the record. Also Have Blind Faith lp. Must get them out and listen again, it been a long time. Roy b, CapeTown south africa 🇿🇦

Unfortunately, money fuels the trucks, pays the crew, rents sound and lights, money pays for rental venues, money pays for electricity, money pays for hotels. Small venues are for artists who have no following. I worked the "A" market concert touring business for 23 years and toured with Steve. I am not convinced you understand the cost accounting associated with concert touring. Best regardz!
