Oh Lucy, I'm absolutely positive that conditional tenses in your interpretation is exactly what a lot of people would learn. It would be great to watch such video.
I want to agree with most of the people. If every native person would speak as good as you, life for us, non-native people would much easier. It's such a pleasure to listen to you. I always think that the answer about lottery tells a lot about the person. It's a good way to see if people are more about themselves or about others. And you answered that you would do something for your parents first 😉

Hi Lucy and everyone. In Spain, we do say 'eeee' instead of 'aamm' when thinking aloud. It's true that our vowels 'a' and 'e' are pronounced with an open mouth. But, I want to point out that the level of loudness and openness of the mouth depends more on the person speaking habits. Your example is definitely informal and not common in situations where a higher register of language is used. Thanks for your videos!
I agree. Some people just forget what he-she was talking about and says, well, "esto" or if they talk very quicky they use tails like and so, "y tal" , "you know"... Well. Anyhow, it's different from Oh I see! or Ah! E.g., I'm waiting for my dentist, so I have now the habit of puting my hand above the mouth, for if I have forgot my artificial tooth that day, or try to use a handkerchief (imagine how difficult it is pronouncing any long word both in Sp or Eng; blasted artificial tooth). Well, it depends, Lucy, today's not my day. I'll answer you tomorrow when I had thought of it roughly.

Well, I am from India. As in India, we have various languages, cultures etc., we poses differently in same situation. If you ask me, as I am from Kolkata, West Bengal, here, we usually sound like "hmmmm" and pause for a few seconds... We don't open mouth while thinking. Most of us follow this way... But, as you know, every human is unique, one can't stick to any particular way of expressing the feelings. And, in the end, I do want to thank you for your videos, these are really very helpful to a many. Love from Kolkata, India.

Hey! We too in India use 'umm' or 'hmm' sometimes even 'aaa' sound with mouth shut while thinking, but while conversing in English we mostly use 'well' a lot😄☺️
In France we go like "EUHHHH" whilst thinking lol

Honestly speaking, I don't produce any sound while thinking as I often speak out loud my thoughts! Sounds strange, I know. And this is happening over and over again since the lockdown has started. As an American, in reference to the "What do you do?" question, they were probably waiting for more. Such as "What do you do for work?", or "What do you do for fun?". I hope that helps explain why there may have been confusion. I do love your videos!

I'm from Russia. In Russian we used to say "эмм" and "э" sounds to show that we're thinking. Also we use the "хмм" sound (I know a lot of foreigners are using this sound too) meaning we're thinking that if a certain person (it may be a friend, a relative or just a person we know) suggested us something interesting

Tip #4 is very true! I think most people, especially in interviews or even on a normal day, get stuck in a conversation because of the lack of adequate words to be used in sentences.

I was told that "ize" is originated from the word "iz" which was a demon in old Hungarian mythology. Sometimes you hear Hungarians saying: may the iz eat it! (Az iz egye meg!).
My mom is Hungarian but I'm Canadian and I'm learning the language and culture - and I must say that the Hungarian mythology is the most intetestingvthing I've ever read.

In Greece it’s exactly the same as in Spain! While thinking we go “eeeeeh” and now it seems rude to me, I’ll prolly give strange looks to ppl thinking 😂
We also say : "mmm..." and mayby :"aaaaaah" 😁. I often say these when I'm thinking 😂. It's in person's nature... 🤔
in Azerbaijan we make the "eeeeh" sound when we're thinking and we make the "mmm" or "hmm" sound when we agree with someone

I"m from Nicaragua we usually use a sound while we're thinking as: "Esteeem...." hahaha
In Italy, when thinking, we make the same sounds as you did so a "Uhm" sound but we often go like "Eehm" too, so a slightly long E sound at the beginning. However I have to admit that I make the same sound as Spanish people sometimes but it isn't that loud and my mouth isn't that wide when I make it ahahah, it's kind of softer.
I've burst out laughing listening to that sound! It's true: we do exactly that way. 😂😂😂
