Here is a solution to problem of Necessary Causality: Quran says: “Allah:there is no deity worthy of worship except he”:The Neccessary life/consciousness,sustainer of life/consciousness.” Wire like neuronal structures that conduct electricity via ions/neurotransmitters in the CNS/PNS possess no attribute of thinking/life and yet that has “randomly” led to life. Consciousness/thinking is an innate idea(“Fitra”)that is distinct from carbon skeleton and yet the materialist scientist believes that chemistry turned into biology via “god of randomness”/”Emergent property”/”law of nature”. Limited/Imperfect Consciousness can only stem from Necessary Consciousness (Allah-one/indivisible/loving/self-sufficient Infinite Perfection)…

34:34 - 36:36 - Once you figure out you have agency and empowerment, then the move is love...What we call love without empowerment is called Codependence. "How do I make you happy so that I can feel safe? It's a fear-based action. Empowerment without love is just power and you'll never get enough of it and it can always be taken from you.

I wanted to say that listening to this interview really helped with getting out of a very unhealthy mental state. I had been going through a horrible breakup, some of the worst emotional pain I've ever felt in my life. Was the closest I've ever been to suicidal. I realized how much I was avoiding things that reminded me of him and how that was actually making anxiety worse. This interview helped me so much, along with therapy, and medication.

I’m realising now that maybe I am not the selfish one :/

You mentioned "Enough", and I had to share a poem that I would recite to my daughter.
“I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright no matter how gray the day may appear.
I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun even more.
I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive and everlasting.
I wish you enough pain so that even the smallest of joys in life may appear bigger.
I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.
I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.
I wish you enough hellos to get you through the final goodbye.” - Bob Perks

The topic around people being able to say no resonates with me thinking back on growing up with my stepfather. I will never forget my brother making a comment that my relationship with him was more advantageous than his, understanding that saying no means you can trust a person connected the dots that that might be the reason it came across that he "preferred" my relationship with him. It might just be because my brother could never say no when he would disagree with our stepfather. I was never afraid to say no or speak up when I did not agree with what he said or did. So interesting

Regarding "effort" and the desire to control.
I learned a principle in martial arts ages ago about how to use force when striking:
    "Hard to soft,
    Soft to hard."
Which is the notion that if you strike with your fist against a hard bony target like the face, skull, or hard joints, you're very likely to break your knuckles. But if you strike those target points with an open hand strike, you can apply a similar level of force while protecting yourself from harm.
Inversely, soft targets like the abdomen are better for striking with a closed hand to transfer more force with a concentrated point of attack and the closed fist allows you to strike a bit deeper for the additional reach.
This isn't a lesson about fighting, I promise.
I learned to apply this principle to my life for dealing with problems or situations.
Hard to soft - change the problems I can change. Do the work. Don't sit idly by and allow a problem to remain a problem when I have the power to resolve it.
Soft to hard- when the problem can't be changed or there IS no solution to it, I have to change the way *I* react to it. I change myself around the problem.
And I think this philosophy strikes the balance between having agency over your life, and also finding acceptance in the aspects that you are merely subject to.
I think that too much force or desire to control, or too much of a laissez-faire mentality BOTH take you out of balance and lead to problems in life and in your emotional well-being.
But that's just something I pieced together for me. 🤷‍♂️

It's awesome to see that guys are finally prioritizing feeling their feelings, but the more I hear about how challenging it is for men to feel their feelings, the more I realize how unusual of a child I was. Lol.
I was pretty self-aware by age 10 and learned how to manage my emotions by my early 20's. The strategy I used was two pronged:
    1) What am I feeling?
    2) Why am I feeling this emotioin?
It took me out of the state of "feeling the emotion" to look at myself more objecttively, and understand the root of the emotion. I'd say understanding the root of the emotion continues to be the most important thing in mastering emotions.
Since emotions are merely "signals" of an issue, it's pointless to just control the signals. Putting tape over the check engine light won't make the problem go away, nor will just getting excited about the light fix the issue.
The real fun begins when one seeks to bring the subconscious to the conscious stage. When done successfully, it's an amazing tool. But it's not for the faint of heart.

I don't know if you read your comments Chris, but I always want to hug you whenever you mention wanting to be liked. You've really helped me, and I really want to help you. One of my super powers is being liked. So, you may have figured this out, but I'll share with you the magic recipe just in case. It's equal parts being radically authentic, completely sincere, unquestioningly honest, truly interested in the other person, not being disrespectful, and just enjoying yourself. Mix it all together, drink it down, and you'll never have to worry about being liked again. You are completely lovable and probably the only one who doesn't see it. And no, I am sure if I really knew you I'd still be saying the same thing - don't even go there.

The cyclist who died was Gino Mader at the Tour de Suisse, Stage 5 (not at the Giro). As always, it's not just death, it's serious injury - for instance recent winners of the Tour Chris Froome, Egan Bernal, Jonas Vingegaard have all been involved in very serious accidents which resulted in extended stays in hospital. Pro-cycling seems to be where F1 was in, say, the 1970s and 80s where safety of competitors is severely compromised, often by the organisations running the sport.

Emotions are rational. We use both thinking and feeling to inform decisions. It's like saying a bike or a horse is not rational. When both serve a purpose and you have to know what your doing for both. Dr. Caroline Leaf explains these things and other zen books on meditation. Same as the saying do you hit the horse or the cart with the whip. Or how many times do you hit the horse before it moves. All the same question

I think we see people who sacrifice other aspects of their lives to be great at something, we see something that is extraordinary in human being that they know most people are not capable of or willing to do. Be it musicians, athletes. These people spent their entire lives working on their crafts. Same with investment. If you dabble in it, you can never be as good as someone like Warren Buffett who think about this every minute of the day. This is the excellence that some people strive for and we view them with awe.

Sorry, I’m a stickler for details (it might be my ADHD) but really this guest seems to have a lot of teeth. But I was able to look past that and it was very interesting. I got into podcasts listening to Heavyweight made by Jon Goldstein and which I would recommend to everybody that likes listening to the most wholesome stories. Then with Covid I discovered the JRE and this kept me busy for a while, Chris Williamson only got on my radar not so long ago. Him being British has made me watch the episodes with other Brits at first since the UK is only a sturdy swim away from Belgium. Nevertheless I found that this young guy had many relatable questions and similar interests. I’m proud to acknowledge his podcast can make me overwin the many stupid sounding quirks my ADHD brings up as reasons not to bother me in the sense I have to switch to listening instead of looking at the screen for the first 15 minutes but it did help me a lot. Cheers to everyone who’s reading this and thinks I’m bonkers...I would argue it’s smart bonkers if you have failed to notice. 😮❤

Regarding the transformation of "passion" in a relationship into "long-term bonding"
It's like Game of Thrones when the Dragon Chick is SUPER good at conquering cities, and shitty at managing them.
The skills that help you conquer a city will not help you rule it.
Passion in the beginning of a relationship is cultivating attraction to eachother. It's discovering what you like, what you value, how you think, act, and live. It's learning to "like" them.
But that tapers off because eventually you already KNOW all that stuff. It's just... there.
Then the journey becomes the maintenance phase where it's more about cooperation towards common goals, small gestures to DEMONSTRATE continued affection. Growing in trust and mutual ambition.
    Which can feel.... weird.
When you fall out of that "new love" phase and you no longer get super turned on just from the little touching or kissing and the things that thrilled you are now just your mutual "normal", it can feel like something has been lost or fallen off.
But what it really is, is that the foundation of what you're building together has been fully formed, and now you're changing gears to build something even more on top of it.
And the sense of comfort and fulfillment that takes the place of passion from being with your person will never make you feel like you've lost anything. As long as you both remember to have fun and not get complacent about eachother.
Comfort is NOT the same as complacency. You should always feel safe and like you have someone who will always be your one. But don't take it for granted that you "have" them. Life changes. People change.
Sometimes that peace is temporary. Moreso when you forget the value of it...

Regarding being "better, worse, or special".
I have an analogy for the nature of existence and our experiences and individuality.
An epiphany that struck me while watching my son playing with bubbles.
What are bubbles? Just soapy water mixture filled with air.
All the same soapy solution. All filled with the same air.
Yet there ARE individual bubbles. Each one coming into existence through their own unique size, shape, and moment. All floating and interacting, drifting and bumping through the world.
And when they pop, they don't cease to exist. The air returns to the air. The soapy solution that makes its shape changes form but does not cease to exist in the world.
Every bubble is simultaneously "special" with its own individuality, occupying its own space in the world, and traveling on its own unique trajectory through its life affected by the wind, its movement against other bubbles, and interactions with the environment.
And yet they are ALL bubbles made of the same things, inside and out...
I believe that's what we are as well. And the desire to be any more or any less than anyone else is a denial that the very aspects that make you unique and special exist in every single person.
When you deny them that, you subconsciously deny it to yourself as well.

My Mother when I was younger tried to stop me from doing something I knew that was good for me , she was even trying to choose who will be my friend and who will not .
I always did what I thought was right thing to do .
    I am assuming .
What kind of life is it if you do
not live true to yourself ?

I normally dnt disagree with this podcast. Yet on this point that just being is not all you need to do to become, that is false. Just being itself, true there is no real duality between them, there is at the same time. They both exist together. You try to sit for an 1hr a day or even 15 minutes without doing anything, you will find just how difficult it can be to pay attention to yourself. Similarly, the answer to your question, how do we use this being and becoming in everything we do like being a boss or working out, the answer to that question is zen... When you can sit with you and realize for yourself what that means, you will become... And at the same time, there is nothing you need to do to become. At the same time your doing it, it is doing you... Just some things to add to the conversation
