    Jayco is stepping up in layouts and colors. I wish they would change some important factors, like plumbing, etc. The small wall table is so much better than a dinette. It's actually a useable space for everyone, doesn't waste space, and looks nice. It allows for far more movement inside. I like that the kitchen is still fully accessible during transit. In a small rv, ducted ac isn't a huge deal with good fans. This is a good contender.

    • @mommasonthemove9144
      @mommasonthemove9144 24 дня назад

      I don't care for the hard sides on the couch. It looks cheap and painful.

    • @mommasonthemove9144
      @mommasonthemove9144 24 дня назад

      You can find clear cases with a cover that mount on the wall to cover the buttons. We had to do it with our 1st rv. Some genius thought it was a good idea to uses the same switch for the awning that went right by the light switch and a kid hit the button just enough that I couldn't tell it was out a tiny bit and we lost our awning on a drive. It was out enough to catch wind on the highway but not enough to notice on a walk around.

    Really really like the bar/desk and that camp side window. A normal kitchen sink in a no bunk/no slide version would have me seriously considering a purchase.

    OK, here goes...
    This new series looks like it has plenty of potential. I’m not big on bunk beds, so I look forward to seeing other configurations yet to come (without them). Wouldn’t mind a model that got a bit more space in the bathroom by replacing those bunks with something that doesn’t use the entire area.
    The “individual eating tables” (TV trays) caught my attention immediately! Yippee! I’ve never seen it done that way, and have been wishing someone would. I would think it would be much more convenient than the typical single shared/swinging table at a dine-ofa. Probably doesn’t hurt that my family often ate on TV trays in the living room (while literally watching TV) when I was a kiddo.

 I also very much like the dining bar with stools. Nice both as a dining area as well as a potential work desk. The huge window in front of it is quite a bonus. Here’s a thought: what if the stools had a back for more comfort and better ergonomics? Humans tend to slouch if they don’t have that. Ouch. It could be a fold-down back support, so as to still fit under the bar. Just a thought…
    Sliding drawers by the Murphy bed - those are pretty darned cool!
    Love that the road mode is essentially fully functional! Not a fan of slides to begin with, but if they are necessary, this is the least objectionable way to employ them (IMHO). Hey, if the bunks are removed, could the sink area be straightened out into that space, making it more accessible in road mode? And then, maybe just add some sort of extra storage in that back corner? BTW, I like having the freezer on the bottom of the fridge.
    Big fan of the Solid Steps, as I really need that stability and the large grab handle.
    Overall, I am quite impressed and can’t wait to see the next iteration!

    I love the dining bar for couples. Not so much for families. Our first night in our camper I was questioning if moving from a tent to camper was the right move. It was a cold night so we went inside and played board games for a couple hours. That was the higlight for all of us on the trip.

    Really like the colors. The breakfast bar is a great idea, and appreciate the lift-up top with the shallow storage underneath. What a perfect place to store a laptop and all the other little pieces and bits that can clutter a camper.

    I saw this model on another channel and for those wondering the TV trays store in the slot under the sofa above the drawers.
    If I had the vehicle to tow it this would definitely be one of my top choices for a possible purchase. My biggest issue is that short queen, but that’s pretty common in sizes that I would be able to get right now.

  • @ashleyethell4489
    @ashleyethell4489 24 дня назад +2

    Love this floor plan! I’ve been eyeing the GD Aim 18BH. I feel Jayco has done it better. The main cabinet is better with the four drawers beneath (GD has interior drawers but the cabinet door has to open in order to get to them). Also, I like the second cabinet under the bar top. I can see that being my kids’ toy cabinet or a nice place for appliances. The real improvement is the bathroom. An extra foot in length gives you a vanity, upper cabinet and bathroom sink. I assume the shower would be a hair longer as well. This one is road mode friendly whereas GD Murphy bed does not fold down with slide in. Big points for Jayco there.
    Thanks for the vid, Josh! I’ve been waiting for the full tour of this one to come out!

    This is the new series of camper that I wanted to see you tour. I love the idea of that counter with stools as I am not a fan of camper dinettes. I love the floor space, the orientation of the kitchen and the colour scheme that they have used. I wish that this wasn’t the bunk model because they don’t interest me at all. I’m not a fan of the Murphy bed but could be swayed to buy a model with one, and just leave it in the down position. I think the Air floor plan that I was interested in seeing, has the bathroom occupying the entire back half of the trailer: it looked very spacious. Thank you, Josh!

    When I saw the floorplan I automatically thought ew but then I watched further and thought nice! I like the flip top bar. Extra storage wherever you can find it is always a plus. I'd use it for a small stash of office supplies and to tuck away a variety of card games, etc. Bathroom is nice but I'd really like to see those sharp corners rounded off. I'm not the most graceful person and see a lot of pain in my future from that one in particular.

    I love the tv trays. Especially when paired with the dining bar rather than a full dinette, it’s an awesome way to handle eating, etc. So much easier/better than a table, whether mounted or whatever. I really like the sliding drawers by the bed, cool idea. 💡I like the flip up counter. Not sure exactly how I’d use it, but I’m sure I’d come up with something useful.

Looking forward to upcoming non-bunky plans. I wish all vendors had view cameras and dual solar panels as standard . Love the eat-at bar and window on this model. Ok with the storage underneath (all storage space is good space). + to the couch tables. Also agree with the comment that microwave should be micro/convection as standard.

    Nixing the camp side bedside window and adding coat hooks is the best innovation here. I like the tray tables too. I hope the stools are sturdy enough for regular adult use. I agree, definitely A+ Cracker Barrel compliant. Nice little first time camper or weekend fishing camper. For the price I would’ve liked to have seen a rear bumper and the spare tire mounted to it instead of underneath the camper. Manufactures, PLEASE, be considerate to your older buyers and quit putting the spares under the campers; as it gets harder and harder to crawl underneath as we get older. Overall nice camper.

    I'm So excited about this. Love it!! I do not like those stools. I like back support but it would be very easy to get just two larger high back stools. I prefer a dinette but this is fine I love the space. I don't feel the 199 has enough storage but this does!! And it's pet friendly. Just about Perfect!!! Except... Sink is way too small. I don't like TV trays I think they're tacky looking and cheap looking but that's just a personal thing.
    I love this!! And I actually like the Murphy bed and I normally don't
    It's too bad they don't have that front windshield type Murphy bed.

    I was really surprised that the microwave wasn’t also a convection oven. That’s a rarity these days when there’s no oven. This is an awesome small unit. Pre-RV years I would’ve jumped at this but, thanks to your teachings, I’d now be a bit neurotic about a possible blowout and would choose a 2 axle unit. Never mind that in over half a century I’ve never experienced said blowout. 🙃 There are several neat little features that really add to the camping experience. As for the counter that flips up underneath the nice front window, I don’t know why you wouldn’t want the flip up. It could be for a deck of cards, a dog leash, things you want to keep more secure or out of view. I mean, why not? I always like a Murphy that does not show bed linens when it’s up. This one, however, does. This feature must be difficult to engineer, difficult to execute, or add too much weight since so many fail at this. Even in units closer to $200k half or more flunk Murphy Beds. I think it was a Rockwood trailer I saw that nailed this beautifully.

    I think the only flaw is that the TV can't face the bunks ( or at least it didn't look like it ). Given the limited seating space, at night or rainy day, the kids would probably be hanging in the bunks. If you could face the TV that way, it gives them some entertainment. The TV facing the couch seems less useful in the bunk model.

    I have one question, why is it that ALL RV manufacturers INSIST on having that hanging closet at the headboard??
    I would RATHER have windows! That is a real bug-a-boo for us. 🤬😡 😠

    Probably a less expensive substitute for the Ember 190MLS. Sacrifices here and there in a comparison with the Ember, but a decision basically is: Do you plan on any mild off-road excursions or not. Strong competition for the F-150 I just bought to tow a 2-person travel trailer with these features.

    Love the breakfast bar, my question is since it folds down can you put your weight on it to help stand up? I don't mind a murphy bendy bed, would prefer the semi recliner with the murphy. Kool bed drawers. Not a high point on that kitchen, to tiny of a sink, don't like front to back burners l prefer side by side, i'd give up that tiny counter space. Love all the big drawers. Don't need the bunks so id proably use it for my kitty up above and doggie in the lower bunk. The bathroom is just ok. Like the pass thru storage. Do prefer duaal axles. I like 30lb propane tanks and at least 2 deep cycle marine batteries. Electric jack. Its a nice little camper.

    So Josh, I have a question. Most RV’s I look online are spec out weight wise are for there standard RV. If you order one with double pain windows, generator and washer/dryer do you get a different weight sticker or do you have to hit the scale right out the parking lot and start doing the math??

    What I find funny about Jayco's R&D (rip off and duplicate) of the Grand Design AIM series is that two of the most blatantly copied floor plans are now showing on GD's site as dealer stock only. I wonder if this line will last longer or shorter than Jayco's R-POD rip off line, the Hummingbird.
