Remember also, Agatha has every right to be paranoid about other witches killing them because this takes place AFTER her original coven tried to kill her.
Agatha said she can't heal her son , protect him and don't know what's coming. Those are abilities Jen , Alice and Lilia have. She really needs her coven.
Remember Death told Agatha she was distracting her from Billy by killing the witches on The Road. I think Agatha was doing the same by distracting Death with the bodies of all those witches to give Nicky as much time as possible. It's not a coincidence that the one day they didn't kill any witches, Death came for Nicky. After Agatha lost her son, taking witches' lives became purely selfish. She did it for power and survival, out of resentment, anger and spite. She has always been an opportunist. At her lowest moment, she saw an opportunity to take the beautiful song she created with Nicky and further bastardize it for personal gain, despite knowing Nicky didn't want to do it anymore. That's why she can't face him in the afterlife.
10:20 I’m actually glad you pointed that out. I think the casting and costuming are making a very deliberate parallel between that witch and Sharon- the innocent party lured to their death by Agatha’s friendly facade.
04:31 Literally the instant I saw Agatha hug that tree for support I was like "Oh... she regrets asking the child to live only for him to suffer a short time and die anyway." That's why she doesn't forgive herself or can face him. She regrets "failing" him. Out of all the Coven's struggle, the one who still couldn't find what they really wanted was Agatha herself (and only Billy heard Nicky from beyond the grave). Agatha wanted her son and wanted power to help him. With him gone, she just wanted power because she had nothing else keeping her going at all.
If I had a nickel for every time a Disney show in 2024 had immaculate conception out of witches as a major plot point... I'd have two Nicholas. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice. Jokes aside, I really like the reveal of the Road being a red herring the entire time. Like, it's one thing to be like "oh, this Road wasn't supposed to happen but Billy made it happen with his mind powers", and another entirely is "There isn't even such a thing as the road at all, and it was... Agatha's trap all along". The people writting this really have a knack for plot twists and I really like it. Also, even though it has a character with such a big mouth on her, this is one of the projects with the least amount of puns that slowly get unbearable, which is also great. Also, just to point out, she gave birth to Nick like 60 years after the Salem Witch Trials, at that point she already did the thing of reversing other witches powers and then sucking them out. That wasn't for Nick, that was still for herself.
My head cannon is that Herb went to check on “Agnes” after everything went down, saw a fresh grave in the backyard, no Agatha on site, and a lonely Senior Scratchy in the basement, and took him home. He also saw Sharon’s name engraved on the floor and went to check on her also. He’s taking care of her azaleas until her family can locate her 😅
She’s not killing to give her win life. She takes lives to increase her own power. She also mistrusts all witches due to her mother’s coven trying to kill her. all of this had been established either in Wandavision or earlier this season.
Now that we both get Death as a character, and we get the first character that can effectively bring others from the dead, no one is really gone gone now. I don't think it will be farfetched to see her as a returning face if we get some more supernatural series later on. Ghost Rider is still to debut outside of Agents of Shield and I think Rio and Mephisto having a connection to this part of the universe makes it even more likely.
So what's the Over-Under on an Agatha cameo in Fantastic Four answering an ad for a nanny for Franklin? She was obviously around in the 1960s and wouldn't age or look younger. Just a quick few seconds is enough.
4:06 I don't necessarily disagree with you, BUT Agatha was indentured to Death well before 1750. Death cannot kill indiscriminately, which was revealed near the end of the first episode--"You can't kill me. It's not allowed."--and the fourth episode told us that Death is an impatient collector of souls--"I'm feeling impatient. I'm feeling like I wanna cause some damage." Agatha looks at her with an About that face, and says "You're too early." Agatha is Death's vassal in the world of the living, and Death has been holding the prospect of immanent Death over Agatha's head for centuries. We were never told when Agatha and Death's contract was made, but it likely happened just before her incident with her coven in 1693. Agatha's act of killing her coven might have been her first big hit for Death, and she's been killing for her ever since. I suspect she started ramping things up after Nicholas was born because she wanted to stay in Death's good graces and because her contract was extended to her son, Nicholas. As long as Nicholas did his part, Death would continue his unnatural extension of life. Death's arrival before his birth tells me he was stillborn ='( Notice how quickly he became sick when he questioned his mother's need to kill witches; notice how quickly death came for him when he lost the taste for participation in those acts. Death sees her gift as kindness, and I'm inclined to agree with her. We all want more time, but we never get more time. Death's gift, however, was contingent on Agatha and Nicholas' desire to do her dirty work in the land of the living. As long as they were willing to deliver her bodies, they'd get to live a life together. Regarding power, Agatha was absolutely seeking power--she stole the Darkhold for that very purpose. Why did she steal it? did she still because she wanted to be all-powerful or did she steal it because she was looking for a way out of the contract she unwittingly made with death 57 years ago? Death knows she was looking for power, but likely didn't understand why until she hid behind the power of the Darkhold, shielding her from Death's gaze. 4:22 You'll recall that Death said I can only offer time. Nothing explicit was said--Death vanished. 4:42 She just realized how Nicholas made her previous job easier. Babies make everyone drop their guard. Normally witches would be wary of other witches; hence, the runes. A fellow witch alone in the woods with her newborn? Hell, come on it! 5:14 Another scheme. These witches didn't suspect anything following a frail boy back to his house. What possible harm could he cause? Yikes! This is the truth Agatha wanted to keep hidden. Nicholas lured unsuspected witches to their deaths. He knew what he was doing. He was young (this was the only life he ever knew), and he eventually loses a taste for it, but he still took part in this ='( Agatha would rather history not know Nicholas Scratch and only know of him as the child Agatha traded for the Darkhold. She was protecting his character while accepting full blame for what they had both done. 5:29 Agatha kills witches to survive Death's wrath, not the wrath of witches who don't know who she is. Nicholas doesn't know the full story, but he already knows that the witches they're killing aren't a danger to them. He believes that he and his mother can live among them and survive (whatever it is his mother fears) together. And she of course shoots that suggestion down, because she can't. Death is an impatient grim reaper who wants souls to usher more regularly, and Agatha had better deliver or else! 6:00 There were no copyright laws back then =P Even if they were, this is 1756; his song would be ruled public domain by now, and that seems to be the case since Lorna Wu made her unique version of it =) Nicholas is the uncredited singer-songwriter who gave his mother a song and fable that kept on giving for centuries after he passed. 6:36 See, no deal was made. 6:42 I believe that That is why she took the Darkhold. She got suckered into a deal that she hated, but couldn't not escape. She knew she couldn't take on Death as she was, but maybe with knowledge of the Darkhold she could. After Nicholas passed, she used the Darkhold to hide, as evidenced by her encounter with Death in the first episode. Death is either oblivious to this fact or knows it's futile since she's the natural order of things: Death must exist. Agatha studied the Darkhold for 330 years (1693 to 2023, WandaVision) looking for the power to change her fortune, and it wasn't until Wanda appeared effortlessly wielding Chaos Magic did the power she sought finally appeared. 7:26 No! Agatha doesn't want Nicholas to be remembered for his part in slaying witches ='( 9:26 Death came for him the moment he lost interest in his mother's work. He had served his purpose and was no longer of use for Death. His abrupt exit prevented Agatha from fulfilling her job. Nicholas was a distraction and Death had to take care of that. She's impatient, remember? Wanda's hex must have pissed her off something terrible, but there was nothing she could do about it. Killing Agatha would put her back where she was, waiting for people's time to come to an end naturally. The fact that Death could not undo Wanda's spell should tell us that Chaos Magic likely can rival Death's. When you think about the last battle, Billy's power was the only power able to hit Death, not Agatha's! 10:29 The gift that keeps on giving ='( 11:06 That's my guess too--Evanora said she was born evil. I think MCU Agatha is a mutant and that her mutant ability is something like Rogue's, albeit magical: absorption of lifeforce and power upon magical contact. 11:11 She was working for Rio before 1693. I wonder if that story will ever be told, but probably not. Rio can never see her again; she's bound by her agreement. This is why Agatha is a ghost. If Death cannot see you, Death cannot collect you and usher you to the afterlife. In the end, Agatha got what she wanted, freedom from Death. 16:01 Goes back to her taking the blame for his part in killing witches. Nicholas didn't know what he was doing, but he does now. Imagine spending eternity with your son and the witches you killed and nowhere to run. I would rather be a ghost too. Nice reaction you two =)

I absolutely can’t wait for more Billy, I’m definitely a Wiccan fan now. I loved this ending and the show in its entirety was 10/10 for me.
Remember also, Agatha has every right to be paranoid about other witches killing them because this takes place AFTER her original coven tried to kill her.
The bell that Nicky stole is the same bell Agatha used when singing the ballad in Ep2.
Agatha said she can't heal her son , protect him and don't know what's coming. Those are abilities Jen , Alice and Lilia have.
She really needs her coven.

I was surprised that they managed to fit in so much that was true to the comics. Great reaction and review.

Love your reviews! You both are awesome, always makes my day. 😊

Biggest unanswered question: Where is Senor Scratchy? What happened to him? I would have liked Billy to have ended up with him.
he's in the backyard eating mushrooms from the "grave" of Agatha. Senor Scratchy is high as a kite now.
@@stephendaniels2213 Honestly, that would have been metal as hell, like Billy returns and he's just chomping down on the Flowers and Mushrooms.

I wished Alice would have survived considering she was the youngest out of the witches and she was cursed all her life..the others got centuries...

If I had to rank the two shows, this show was probably a little better than WandaVision.
Same for me! This show was just much better in my opinion!

There is a Wiccan series in the works.
Rock 🪨 on
Technically, the entire episode 9 was the post-credits scene.
