All-being-well as I'm now retired, I'll be returning to skiing next season after a 35 year gap, but I'll be 67, so I hope I'm not to old to be a mature beginner, and can pick it up.
I’m going to be 68 this summer and I’m looking forward to my best skiing ever this winter. What’s going to make the biggest difference is the fact that I got rid of two narcissists in my life 👍👍👍
I'm only a little north of 50. Last season was my first year back on skis since 05-06 and it really is just like riding a bike. Once my strength came back I was cruising anything on the mountain all day long and it was a blast. I do regret those years off, but my wife doesn't really ski and skiing wasn't nearby for that time. I'm finally near a mountain again and this time I'll be sure to keep it that way.
Well since we're talking age, I'm 72. I think skiing all summer waiting for the snow. We're hours or days from the snow, but manage to get to western USA 30+ days each year. Can't wait
If u want it, it will happen... obsession is a good way forward... there's sooo much online help now, u hardly need ski school.. if u want to hit the ground running check out Harald Harb, he has been the backbone of my "senior" skiing..
question, it seems you have the top part of you ski boot tilted forward, as you seem to be standing leaning forward on default. did you adjust the shaft of your skiboot forward to achieve this posture? i noticed it can be changed on my own pair with a special wrench that came with the boots.
Quick question please - if the front boot straps are done really tight - as normally told - there is little or no movement to allow to squish the strawberry - are you promoting the front straps to be looser please
This is an interesting presentation of the three pressure fundimentals. The only thing I did not understand is what movement is made in order to transfer pressure from the downhill ski to the uphill ski in the transition phase. Is the movement to shift weight when extending (effectively standing on) the uphill lski?
To shift pressure to the new outside ski relax the old outside leg, think about removing something first before feeling the balance on the new outside ski. Rather than pressing think of balance.
Thank you for those insights. (I'd asked the question because it seemed relevant but missing in the video.) Thinking of the weight transfer between the skis as removing something (rather than adding something) is helpful. I like even better the idea of balancing on the new outside ski instead of describing this as pressuring the new outside ski. I appreciate your clarifying my understanding and if I may, adopt these ideas into my lessons.
HILARIOUS.....fifty years ago they called that a stem christie...contrary to everything you hear from YT content creators, there ain't nothing much "new" in skiing after all, now is there???
Noooo, sorry, noooo. You lost me on the outside-inside ski thing. Top skiers turn with both skis however. They turn with one foot slightly in front of the other. The plumes of snow behind them are identical. The weight is evenly distributed on both skis.
What a great little video. Keep it simple, informative & funny 😄👍
This is my favorite skiing video ever. On it on it on it on it on it. This will be what I remember when I lose my balance on the hill.
Loved it! Love the simplicity of thinking 3 basic directions of movement. Easier said than done of course!
I had a Scottish instructor 30 years ago and for keeping your weight forward he used to say "Shag the turn! Don't shit it!" 😂
Very good video on basics of piste ski-ing. Very clear explanations, really useful!!!
Very useful video and found the impersonation of the Scottish coach hilarious 😆 "Get on it!!!"

@@teknik12k right on. I’m not ready to give it up yet no matter what. Keep it going 👍👍👍🥰

Really good coaching
This is a gem, man skis so smooth like hes in space.
Very good demonstration, from now on I'll remember to squish those strawberries and be on it outside ski.
Best demonstration! Thank you!
How about flexion and extension to calm that verticle movement in your demo !?
Best simple video I have seen
3 axis of awesome! Let's go!
Fantastic video! 🍓
Just soooo good - brilliant instruction- thanks very much
You're very welcome!
Love this video. Thank you
And does the inside ski do anything to aid the grip - or is it just there for the ride

Outstanding
Great content
Sono molto ben fatti i vostri video tutorial. 👍👍
Love it!! 👍🏻
If only you were based in Italy 🇮🇹 Freddy. I’d be onnit booking some time with you for sure. 🎉

Would suggest no straps should be really tight. If you are skiing the entire day you want to ensure you have good blood flow. Firm just fine!
Great video but love the outro soundtrack. What is it?
On it! On it! On it! Off it! 😂
Congrats!!!
Please post this on elite skiing.. We'll need popcorn for the comments.
Quick question please - would you say that skiing is basically on one leg really
Fabulous, thankyou!
You're very welcome!

Excellent
nice sound track. Who is it ?
this dude is hilarious.
Here are three tips to improve your skiing:
1. Make a lot of money so you can effing afford to go skiing.
Repeat step one ad infinitum.
Coach sounds like andy F
This guy is good but the cameraman must be better in some shots the camera guy must be skiing backwards as well as filming!
you forgot the need to check the rotational inertias in the horizontal plane...
HILARIOUS.....fifty years ago they called that a stem christie...contrary to everything you hear from YT content creators, there ain't nothing much "new" in skiing after all, now is there???
Up, why go up? That encourages people to stand on the outside ski when that ski needs to flatten.

Plug(((
This guy's a level 4? I'm seeing a lot of stemming going on there.
this is for the purposes of the drills to keep the movements controlled
