While I do love the idea of having a small, agile 4x4 van like this and I do like this layout, I gotta have an actual bathroom/shower. I'm planning to do a lot of extended travel and a properly enclosed shower/toilet are must-haves for me. The long wheelbase version of this van is only 22' long and has plenty of room for a wet bath and more storage...that'd be my choice.
Another beautiful build Campo vans, bravo! Its rare to see the fold away bench. I like the wall mounted table, very popular design choice in Europe. I like the marine grade hardware. I tried to do some research on the Rixen marine hot water system you use but there doesn't seem to be a lot online, I'm sure you wouldn't be using it if there were any issues. If you ever build any vans in the future (short or long wb) designed for small families of 3-4, I hope you are able to share.
I love this Campo Van layout. Amazing that it all fits in a 144 Sprinter. But no mention of the skylight! What is that and what is the ceiling material?
Hi John, thank you for your input! We have over 20 years of van converting/remodeling/building experience and never once have had an issue with mold under the beds. Having boat building experience, we do understand that this is an issue in the marine world (and there is possibility for issues in the van building world as well). Even though we have never had this issue, we always recommend using a non-organic material for upholstery, along with setting cleaning periods of the vehicle interior, so that there is not issues with mold growth in vehicles. In this case building a slatted bed would sacrifice structural integrity something we find more valuable in a van build than avoiding mold growth, which again, when a van is properly maintained, and the right materials are used, will not occur. Cheers!
@@CampoVans Then I bow to your superior knowledge, it was just a thought that shot into my head having heard other van dwellers mention it. Thank you for your reply.
@@colmherbie8261 I think the person 'dining ' from the front seat just out of shot must be an Orang Utan to reach that table. Ooops there I go...being all negative again ! Lol Like I said Happy travels EVERYONE. John
Hi John! Thanks for your constructive criticism! Helpful comments make builds better. Fortunately our customer has already dined at this table setup with 4 a few times, as have a lot of our other customers who have asked for similar layouts, and so far can only speak to how surprised they were at the comfortable space that was available. As long as many of our customers are happy with the setup we built for them, we are happy :)!
@@CampoVans My comments were for the benefit of those who may build, or buy something similar without physicaly trying to seat 4 to mock-up eating there. I would love to see your video of 4 adults having a meal at that table. I genuinely wish you and your customers well. John
that seat just gave me life
Really brilliant design in such a small van and fantastic workmanship well-done 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Thank you Dave!
Sweet design and immaculate finishes- what more do you want in a camper van? A+++

We're doing a 170 currently that could sleep a family of 4. We will be making a video when it is done!
How much would this build cost?
Great job.
I love this camper!
Thank you!

Hey Jason, We replaced the factory AC unit with a factory skylight and made the ceiling out of 1/4 bamboo plywood coated with an organic finish.
Shouldn't the bed base be made from slats rather than pieces of board? This would allow better air circulation and less risk of mould.

@@johnvancamper9581 Hi John. We will all be dining at one of these setups today to bring peace to any questions you may have. A video will follow :)
Nice build but the face mount hinges spoil the clean look.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
