It's great to see a current rider building this bike! I just purchased a 919 in November, and have been doing kinda the same things to it, CustomLED tail, random parts replacement, and lots of cleaning!
it's not the taillight's fault you set the front end up wrong, also those handlebars are pointed waaaaaay too much up, unless it's a stuntbike you should rotate them more towards the gastank. okay so for indicator issue: jeez how do i say this... okay so you're indicator relay changes a 1 to a 0 (power or no power) right? well if you wire it backwards like you probably did, your indicators are constantly lit and the relay puts power on the ground wire of the indicator, reducing it's voltage to 0 causing them to turn off. the problem you have with the taillight is that it doesn't want to have power on the indicators when they should be off. you could potentially make it work by making the indicator button on the handlebars send it's signal to 2 different relays, 1 for the front working like it does now, and 1 for the rear working as it comes from factory... if you want i can draw you up a schematic of what i'm thinking about cause i tried doing it with symbols but i've just no space for it.
@@Tony0Shredder yeah, i assumed that was obvious, i believe he even explains it too. anyway that mean the front indicators have a constant positive and the "signal" from the switch and relay side is put onto the ground wire, if you put 12V on either side of a light or LED the differential is 0V and the light goes out. so i wonder if that is how he blew a fuse, putting 12v straight on a ground wire is the very definition of short circuit...
This comment was a fundamental misunderstanding of how a turn signal relay works, I think. Its hard to tell because its kinda rambling gibberish, but I can definitely tell you that this is not the issue at hand.
I think you wired the front signals backwards. Switch the negative and positive wires. If that doesn't work, leave the front disconnected and try the rears.
was about to post this same comment, thought i'd read through the replys first tho ;-P ...and whats with the tape on the headlight Yammie? c'mon Shaggy Pubes ...j/k
"...par for the course, me not seeing things..." Love the self deprecating humor. Bike is coming along great. Thanks for showing us the frustrating parts, wouldn't be as worth sharing if everything was easy.
Yams, I suggest getting a multi-meter and manually checking which wires correspond to which controls. Connect one lead to the ground in the bundle, and the other to a signal wire. Press each control (turn signal, brake levers) and find out which causes the voltage to transition. Forget the instructions, they're often wrong.
I do agree with what you said about the free play. The beginner bikes tend to have a lot of freeplay which might be good for the first 1000 miles to prevent unwanted use of throttle but then it kind of gets frustrating to have.
The turn signal controls on the cockpit take the curernt from the turn signals themself. Check if you are using a led-relais and if you have resistors before your turn signal/taillight-system. :)
LED's commonly cause the 'fast flash', which you fix with resistors or with a relay. This issue is caused by the indicators always being on, and pulse off - rather than being off and pulsing on.
You may need to install load resistors. LED's don't provide enough electrical load for the flasher relay to work properly. I got the resistors on Amazon for pretty cheap and some posi-tap connectors to make it all work.
Depends on what he started with. The blinking is functioning right now so I doubt that's the problem. Also, it's much, much easier to just buy an LED Solid State Flasher Relay and swap them out, takes five seconds and is only ~10 bucks or so.
The better way to do this is to put in a solid state flasher that works properly with LEDs. I bought one for < $10 and it runs LEDs properly without load resistors
Yeah, when I did mine I didn't know there were such things as solid state flasher relays. Live and learn and the resistors were easy enough to install.
Does your bike run 2 or 3 wire turn signals stock? If they're 3 wire, you probably just wired the running lights into the signals which is a common mistake swapping from 3 to 2 wire signals.
Hey, aren’t those throttle wires rotated to high on the handlebar? Shouldn’t they point more towards the floor instead of pointing into the air above the front brake lever??
yo Yammie!!!!! HELP. I saw you painted the seat cowl, I'm trying to do the same but after a year of curing the paint on the cowl, its stating to split, can you tell me what you did to paint he cowl?
Did you forget to paint the handle bars before you put the throttle back together then realize that you forgot but said fuck it cause it was already together? Hahaha
Hi sir, I want to buy a sport bike and I seek for the triumph Daytona 675 2012 model, I know that you already had one so my question is can I buy it as my first bike ?? I haven't ever been on a bike before And also what about the r6 or the gsxr 750 which one do u recommend and which is better and safer and prettier Please answer me
Your zero volt return path could be ass about. On your lighting circuit (front, rear and indicator light). Test for circuit continuity on those 0 volt return circuits.
There are plenty of videos on those. Check out TMF he fails off trying to go round a corner on the DSR turns out huge torque (100ft lbs) and no traction control can end in disaster
I have to tease you about the "front headlight" and "rear tail light" comments. Is there a rear headlight and front tail light? ;) Kidding aside, you're doing a good job so far.
Is that an aftermarket headlight or oem? I like the integrated turn signals it has. Also, checked out that Bandcamp link. I didn't know you made music (little new 'round here) and I must say, it's pretty good.
You cannot have the front turn signals (un-blinked) on all the time, that's the one keeping the rear lights on as well. Due to the head light wiring it is happening like this. Try rewiring the front turn signals to 'off' position and then you can see this problem is resolved.
On the throttle i get it that you have preferences but MAKE SURE THAT WHEN YOU TURN THE BARS THERE IS STILL SOME FREEPLAY one of my friends didn't take this advice when he adjusted his cables ended up tossing the bike when he was turning around in the parking lot...
Bodged wiring is one of the worst aspects of aquiring a used bike, and you just demonstrated how to do it. One of the three machines I own is a 1973 Kawasaki F9 350 Bighorn with just over 3000 original miles and it is absolutely intact, even came with the original spare fuse.
Who wants to look into a headlight to see turn signals ? Hence why most cars changed they area of the turn signal so u can see or like the new Chevy trucks the headlight turns off if the signal is on
I'm gonna guess you need a volt meter and a service manual for the lights. A wire schematic to check for a bad switch and ground oh "looks pretty good " Yammie Noob
Love the transparency in these videos. Really shows how so many random issues can occur when working on vehicles. Keep it up Yam!
It's great to see a current rider building this bike! I just purchased a 919 in November, and have been doing kinda the same things to it, CustomLED tail, random parts replacement, and lots of cleaning!
I had an ad while you were doing an ad and I aint even mad. Feels rad supporting Yam.

yeah you'd need 4 indicator relays to pull this one off... unless you let go of the front indicator being on all the time.
you can actually see the front ones also constantly on in the video (only blinking by turning off like you say)

@@V4P1D_ what are you talking about, that is melon he just deflates a little. #lookintoit

Quentin Worth is that a melon and an Eddie Bravo mention in one comment section lol what a world

Papa Yam is working hard on this bike for a stranger. Papa Yam you are GREAT. The Winner of this bike would be so lucky. I Wish I could have it
Vedant Mohod it’s not so weird when he says papa yam idk why but it is weird when the viewers do it
I do agree with what you said about the free play.

gud luck to guy win this bike i can't even get a 200 cc bike in india i am trying to save much money as i can to buy one....😊
Great series YN! You should get yourself a work table... Craigslist has those too!
Looking good! Doing things right!
This bike is going to be decently fresh for a 90s model... I'd be lucky to have it
Hell yeah, Papa Yamm! Electric problems are the WORST! But at least it's getting there!

Flip the brake light and running light wires?
Where do you get the passenger grab bar covers for the two holes it leaves behind? It’s an absolute eye sore without the grab bar leaving those holes.
Nammie Yoob back at it again
Btw love your tutorials, tips and your channel
Resisters. LED’s pull less current than filament bulbs. Low voltage won’t trip relay.
Low voltage won't do anything, commonly known as a flat battery
He means low current
LED's commonly cause the 'fast flash', which you fix with resistors or with a relay. This issue is caused by the indicators always being on, and pulse off - rather than being off and pulsing on.
Did it have amber running Lights before it was changed? they could be interfering with the turn signals
You know that integrated turn signals are forbidden in most states right?
Had to replace my clutch cables a week ago as well, quite easy to do, i had no trouble with it even tho i have no clue about wrenching on bikes
Are you still going to paint the "golden" steer black?
I wonder what are the variables that make up a bike sound? U get what I'm sayin

Nah, I take it back, I went back and looked at the original reveal of the bike... those cables do exit at that angle or close to it anyway
You're the Deadpool of bikers
I'd guess the rear indicators are constantly on like the front. Wiring isn't my strong suit though
I highly recommend the Cardo units. Have a Freedom 1 that works great on my commute.
Hondas have amber running lights. 3 wires to each signal. You only have to connect 2 turn signals wires, disconnect the 3rd running light wire.
i'm about to buy my first bike, ceccato 150 or bajaj v15?
You really made a commendable effort on this thing. Y'all should do another 919 project, did i mention that?
Yammie's out of focus mouth in the corner of the camera made my day.

Quick turn throttle? Had one of those on my RC51- throttle skills or hospital bills, son
I actually got the notification this time. 👍
The intro is so dope
Try unplugging the front light to see if that fixes your issue. If it does the front light will need to be rewired yet again.

don't worry about the clutch cable, you'll be doing 6th gear launches after the Tubo'Busa motor swap anyway

You always feel the bike runs better when we wrench on them ourselves. Try swapping the wires. The guy at the Chinese factory could’ve screwed up.

the tail light wiring / flash issue is because you wired it wrong, you confirmed this when you showed us the constant ON indicator lights
Looking gas so far

Omg that flat spot in the front rim🤔

Love the alliteration on hentai hornet
I think the bike may be constantly sending indications to the turn signals
I'm not sure if both amber les strips are supposed to be lit on the headlight when the turn signal is actuated either.
That's my reasoning, let me know if it helps.
