Steps to fix your device.
1. Remove the earmuff
2. Unscrew the main screws holding down the back touch cover
3. Unscrew the piece holding down the power button ribbon.
4. Get to the main PCB and unplug the power button
5. Remove the ribbon
6. Install the new power button ribbon
7. Put the unit back together
8. Get back to jamming out 🎵

Thanks you soo much for this tutorial. For months I had an issue with my XM3. Thanks to your very well made video I found the courage to open it up. Loved the clear instructions. With disconnecting the ribbon and reattaching it it started working again like a charm.

How do I find the Serial Number so I can ship mine to you for repair? I no longer have the box either cause I threw it out as soon as I unpacked them years ago.

hello friend, please help, I have wh1000xm headphones when charging, they glow red and at the same time flash a blue indicator (every 5 seconds ±) what can this indicate? my friend has the same headphones and when turned on, they just glow red until fully charged

How do you know if your power button is defective or not? Mine won’t turn on, but it does faintly flash blue for a split second when clicking on power button but does however not turn on. My headphone won’t reset neither.
I measured the battery today with a Multimeter and it says 4.29V? Is it the battery the cause for my XM3 not turning on or the power button?

@@Josiah-Hulin10 I found out the issue. Mine has a bad or half broken connection on the main board (on the side where the power button is). i don’t know specifically where the issue is. When I put a bit of pressure onto the main board, it has no issues turning on, so it may be a lose connection somewhere. :)
I have made a hack where I have put a rubber tube to put a light pressure onto the board with help from the cover to pressure it down onto the main board. It works fine now, but not the ideal solution. ^^ Got the Headphones for 20$ - so I do not complain haha

@@Joesge I don’t think so. It seems that the power button on my XM4 is broken and it’s on the left ear cup
Agree, the xm4 is built different, would be usefull to see a video on how to reach the ribbon cable on xm4.
