Palm tree garden in my London home November update and winter protection

In November I start to provide winter protection for my less cold hardy palms. I show how I have made a shelter for two cycads in pots and one Washingtonia Robusta planted in the ground. I also highlight a Butia Odorata which I have treated for root rot.

I can understand why you're protective of your cycas pair. They're beautiful. I'm up.in NE uk. I've got 3 smaller cycas. I just whack a horticultural fleece around them and they've been fine so far outdoors. One of them this year I'm trying a Dicksonian-type winter protection-I've just put some fleece around the crown.
Your cerifera looks cool. Mine's in a raised bed. I don't bother doing anything with it over winter. Its hard as nails.
Love the washy. I share your love of the brahea armata. Beautiful palm. I have a couple of Bismarckia seedlings also that are close to that silver colour but much smaller. Keep up the good work👍

Glad to hear of your cycas revolutas surviving NE England winters. I am not concerned about the one I have in the ground but the two in pots within the wooden troughs are at risk of their pots freezing. Yes, fleece around the crown is always good! Thanks for your comment!

Mate this is wonderful, I started my own tropical palm garden this summer and I'm starting to protect the plants as well. Good luck with the next growing season!
