They were both FIERCELY loyal to each other! When jim wanted to leave his own show gomer pyle, the network wouldnt let him break the contract..so sutton told them, hed leave the show, cause he didnt wanna play carter anymore! So they allowed the jim out of the contract...jim then went on to do the, Jim neighbors variety hour and hired Sutton as a cast member! After a few seasons, the network wanted variety hour to be all musical and no comedy, which wouldve meant firing Sutton..so Neighbors decided to cancel the show instead!

Are you so ignorant that you don't understand the difference between an actor and a show's character? That you're not smart enough to comprehend the difference between made up tv life and real life? The character of Gomer Pyle was a straight man with a girlfriend. It's called acting, and your bigoted ignorant homophobia is showing.

The episode about the sick cat. When Gomer puts the helmet on. No Pyle put it on me. I have all five seasons of Gomer. Watch them over and over and laugh. These two men had a special chemistry like Andy and Barney. Several of the episodes were mirror like to TAGS. The one about Carter saving Gomer. Andy saved Gomer also.

Frank Sutton was as talented, if not more so, than any actor I've ever seen. His prior roles were all serious, tough guy roles. Then he transferred seamlessly to a comedic role, and and actually blended the tough guy/comedic roles brilliantly! And those facial expressions, that laugh, and that very unique voice. Can anyone name an actor who could have matched it? I can't!

Leslie Nielsen. All sorts of TV and Movie Heavies and Leading Men heroes for awhile until he played a General on "MASH" in 1972. The great sitcom was produced by Gene Reynolds among others. He and Jim Nabors of course were part of the immensely talented "Andy Griffith Show" ensemble. Bringing it almost full circle, many years after Nielsen's breakthrough in 1980 with "Airplane" he played in a satire of James Bond movies. The "Supervillain"? Yep Andy Griffith!😂B.W.

Yes that’s Welsh rabbit (I had to google it and it’s called rab it? I know I read they changed the name bc the dish lacks “rabbit”.
They could have come up with a nicer name after all it’s just toast, maple syrup and cheese.

From what I understand, There was about 650, or more, middle-aged- women LOVED To watch the show in the mid 1960's, Because the companies of men ,who were Marching for "Pass And Review" ( As shown in the opening credits) were shipped off Immediately to Vietnam, due to LBJ's (the president's, emergency order at that time (1964 +/-).
For many wives girlfriends, and mothers, it was the last time they saw their loved one, Alive! ... That is why the re-runs lasted for so many years, After the series was no longer-' prime time- TV .!

In the scene where a black bird was on top of Pyle's head pooping, was that the director removing the bird? And if so, who was that director in that scene at 3:13?

That was most likely the animal trainer dealing with the bird. As for the director of that episode, if you have the series on DVD, it would be easy to check out the credits.
