Aes is one of my favorite MCs, I'd be happy to see and hear your reactions to any and all of his works but if I had to pick one, it'd be Blood Sandwich. Keep reacting
Blood Sandwich, specifically accompanied by the music video, has been my go-to when introducing new heads to aes. It’s a great demonstration of his abilities, led by a compelling narrative, and isn’t quite as cryptic as some of his other material.
Blockhead produces some great music man. Him and Aesop have brought me some good times over the years, that old school New York feel with a brilliant lyricist.
Blockhead did most of the beats on Ace's early stuff. This track samples from John Coltrane and Beasty Boys. Their styles really complement each other very well. He did a track that was the negative flipside to this song called Nightlight. I have been listening to him for 20 years and still discovering shit in his lyrics. And yes, his new album Spirit World Field Guide drops in mid November.

Ive been listening to Aes for almost 20 years. When he was touring the impossible kid, this was the song he closed his set with. This random dude next to me rapped the whole goddamn song in unison with me and a good other portion of the crowd. Daylight/Nightlight is easily one of the tracks ever and Aes is easily the best lyricist to ever do it
Found Aes 15 years ago and have been a fan ever since. Everyone talks about the lyrics, but I want to give a shout-out to Blockhead for that amazing beat. He produced a lot of the earlier Aesop songs and he's on another level
Aesop is my all time favorite. He kills his shit live too. He's got so much material... None Shall Pass (album) is probably the one I've played the most...but this song is the first song I ever heard of his...fan ever since.
Liked and subscribed. Really diggin the reactions. Aes is a truly talent. His word play and flow are next level. His talent spreads wide...for instance, his work as The Uncluded with Kimya Dawson from Moldy Peaches...a mash up of folk music with hip hop...songs such as Delicate Cycle or Teleprompters. He has a side project called Hail Mary Mallon with Another great lyricist Rob Sonic. And then there’s the project Lice that he does with Homeboy Sandman. Also...Malibu Ken, his project with Tobacco. He’s got a deep bag! Keep it up my man
Aesop came out with a record called Malibu Ken in 2019. Fantano summed it up like this: “Malibu Ken is pure fun for total weirdos.” He gave it a 8/10. Review a track from that one
You went over "I'll hang my boots to rest when i'm impressed, so i triple knot 'em if i got 'em." He ain't ever gonna be impressed with the game since it's all bugged!
Spirit world field guide is his newest album(2020) The song "the gates" is my new favorite banger! also check out "Catacomb kids" - the beat is HARD AF!!!!
I’m not total AesopHead. But the beats he’s handed are some of my favorite hip hop betas and what he does with them is really take you on adventure, which also often reflects the type of beat he does get.
From purely a writing standpoint, I honestly can’t think of many who can even be a challenge for Aesop. Even my favs, I can’t confidently say they’ll win Aesop’s pen is sumthin else entirely
Life's not a bitch life is a beautiful woman, You only call her a bitch because she won't let you get that pussy, Maybe she didn't feel y'all shared any similar interests, Or maybe you're just an asshole who couldn't sweet talk the princess

I did not invent the wheel, I was the crooked spoke adjacent
While the triple sixers' lassos keep angels roped in the basement
I walk the block with a halo on a stick, poking your patience
Y'all catch a thirty second flash visual
Dirty cooperative med platoon

Fathom the splicing of first generation fuck-up
With trickle-down anti-hero smack (Kraken!)

Duke of early retirement picket dream
American Nightmare hogging the screen

If you'd stop following me around the jungle gym
Now it's honor, and I spell it with the 'H' I stole from heritage
Merit crutched on the wretched refuse
Of my teeming resonance
I promise, tempest tossed breed with a bleeding conscience
See, the creed accents responsive
But my spores divorced the wattage
And I'm sleeping now - wow! - yeah, the settlers laugh

Shimmy cross the centerfold, enter dead time engulfed
Divvy crumbs for the better souls
With seven deadly stains, adhere the blame to crystal conscience
The result's a lowlife countin' on one hand what he's accomplished
Okay, link me to activism chain activate street sweep
Plug deteriorating cenobite pendragon
I hock spores coursed by the morbid
Spreading of mad men, Alley gospel
Sinking your Lincoln-Log cabin and Charlie Chaplin waddle
I could zig-zag and zig 'em again
For the badge dreams sparkle in my brick wall windows
Another thick installment of one night in Gotham
Without the wretched; Houston, we have a problem
Attached to the festive batch of city goblins
Who split holiday freaks on a box cut cinema high road bellow
Head gripped, watch red bricks turn yellow
Sort of similar to most backbones at camp Icarus
Where all fiddler crabs congregate
And get pampered for bickering
Life's not a bitch, life is a beautiful woman
You only call her a bitch 'cause she won't let you get that pussy
Maybe she didn't feel y'all shared any similar interests
Or maybe you're just an asshole
Who couldn't sweet talk the princess
Kiss the speaker wire Peter/pacifism pegging threshold
Stomach full of halo kibbles
Wings span cast black upon vigils
Here to Duck Hunt ticker tape vision and pick apart the pixels
I got a friend of polar nature, and it's all peace
You and I seek similar stars but can't sit at the same feast
Metal Captain, this cat is askin' if I've seen his bit of lost passion

You gotta listen to Nightlight right after Daylight you basicly just listend to half the "song" :D
The album that came out this year is called Malibu Ken def a banger altho very different sound wise
Just FYI, now that we know he's digging Aesop, pretty much everyone one of my patreon request from here on out are gonna be Aesop. We got a great discog to catchup on
Aesop is one the baddest rappers to do it!! I’ve been rocking with dude for 20 years!!
Best lyricict of all time. You need a thesaurus to rock with Ace!! Check out bug zapper for one of his hardest beats!!!
:-: You Punk lmbo #Hurrah my Brother
Hell yeah
Cool you listened to something this good. Cheers!
Best living rapper since the late 90s.
This is one of my favorite songs of all times... super emotional for me.
Why’s that?
Dope post. Always loved this track it doesn't get recognized as it should
Love seeing reactions to aesop. It's hard showing him to people. Knowing the fucking genius and seeing it fly over heads.
I felt really smart when I realized halo kibbles were Cheerios 😆
fucking love aes.
and your breakdowns are good.
Damn this song takes me back to being a kid in high school. Fuckin classic.
You need to listen to daylight night light back to back 100%
💯
Even if you haven't reacted to them, Aes has put out like 3 FIRE albums since this. Adding to the all the legendary one before them.
You have to listen to it many times to get the full appreciation, it’s too much for one go.
The Impossible Kid is already a classic and it came out in 2016. You should react to ‘Dorks’ off of it.
💯
Word placement on mystery fish is the craziest. Water tower breaks my heart a bit
It’s a damn anthem.
Try his "The Uncluded" project with Kimya Dawson. They released several videos, you can pick any of it and react - it's all good.
aesop rock - "none shall pass". his best song ever
spirit world field guide drops in November i believe- "the gates" video just dropped, i believe it's the first track off the new album
I’ll have to check it out.
20 years in 2021!
You went over "I'll hang my boots to rest when i'm impressed, so i triple knot 'em if i got 'em." He ain't ever gonna be impressed with the game since it's all bugged!
Aesop Rock is a GOAT (Greatest Of All Time)
Spirit world field guide is his newest album(2020) The song "the gates" is my new favorite banger!
also check out "Catacomb kids" - the beat is HARD AF!!!!
Its only over your head till you listen to it a hundred times. Lol
I’m not total AesopHead. But the beats he’s handed are some of my favorite hip hop betas and what he does with them is really take you on adventure, which also often reflects the type of beat he does get.
One of the dopest songs of all time.
Aesop NICE with it, right?
Instantly subscribed
Aes' got that that real verbosity. GodDAMN. He really is the best emcee in the game.
From purely a writing standpoint, I honestly can’t think of many who can even be a challenge for Aesop.
Even my favs, I can’t confidently say they’ll win
Aesop’s pen is sumthin else entirely
The trilogy of EPs Aesop did with Homeboy Sandman under the moniker of Lice would be very much worth your time to listen to if interested
Aesop is the fire! Check out 9-5ers Anthem. It's filthy. Bazooka Tooth is badass as well.
Life's not a bitch life is a beautiful woman,
You only call her a bitch because she won't let you get that pussy,
Maybe she didn't feel y'all shared any similar interests,
Or maybe you're just an asshole who couldn't sweet talk the princess
Night light is an amazing follow up to this track.
@ :30 y’all catch the thirty second flash visual.... that’s deep if you get it.
“When you listen to rappers like this” Aes is on of the last to have this kind of talent. It’s hard finding rappers with abilities like Aes
Nightlight goes together with this one. You just got to hear it.
Nightlight! Aesop rock
Aesop Rock is the real 🐐
Should check out his song Freeze.. maybe Busdriver as well, Imaginary Places especially.
Aesop been my dude since 2006.
Sorry homie, Aesop is by far the most diverse MC in hip-hop history. Bar none. Head and shoulders.
Hopefully NightLight is next
It seems only recently mc’s are discovering Aesop. While they should have been studying him from the beginning. He’s not only A wordsmith, he’s THE wordsmith. It’s well known AES has the largest vocabulary in all hip hop. People need to stop sleeping and learn his catalog
I am unsure if this was brought up already, but I just picked up on the low life counting on one hand what he has accomplished and there is the ad-lib for ok. The ok hand symbol is an o so its nothing. I have heard this song thousands of times and just picked it up
I just discovered today this genre of "RUclipsrs reacting to my favorite rapper."
That’s a genre?
Brand new Aesop rock Dropped last night
Rogue wave
For years he was at the top of a most words used chart of rappers some guy put together and posted online. He's not anymore i think theres a couple above him now. Think Busdriver is at the top of the list currently.
What would happen if Aesop did a collab with Em? 2 GOATs when it comes to lyricism. Or bring together Aesop, Em, and Logic. Melt peoples minds.
Replace logic with tech or Joyner
Bruh. That uneven red square is driving me banana sandwich.
When Angels whisper in the ear of man.
While the triple sixers lassos keep angels roped in the basement
I walk the block with a halo and a stick poking your patience
This song is great.. its almost more poppy and dumbed down structurally for aes.. love it, not talking shii.. please react to attention span aes ft vast aire and/or prosperity
"yeah the settlers laugh
you won't be laughing when your covered wagons crash
you won't be laughing when the buzzards drag your brothers flags to rags
you won't be laughing when your front lawn is spangled with epitaphs"
Aesop rock is the best hands down
don't leave my boy eyedea r.i.p the best
Aesop Rock - get out of the car
why do people keep suggesting interlude songs for reacts
@@IchKomentiereNur123 I agree, it's a great song, but without context or knowing a bit of Aesop it doesn't really shine.
u sayin that 'it's hard to not stop' when u c something is so true. i hit STOP, REWIND, STOP, REWIND sooo many times, STILL, w/ songs i'v heard 2million times. B4 INTERNET LYRICS, HAD 2 REWIND & WRITE FEW WORDS I CAUGHT DOWN A PAGE, REWIND, FILL IN A FEW IN-BETWEEN WORDS, REWIND...FOREVA. still lines i got multi guesses at what he's saying, & every possibility is higher level thought artistry...DEEPEST MYSTERY LINE IS from DRYSPELL, it's either 'my pulse is a gymnast when i witness fury scurry past my window' or sites claim line is 'my palms are a chin rest when i witness fury scurry'...so his pulse doing flips or he's casually bored/unalarmed when fury's round...Aesop even posted his handwritten notebook lyrics to dryspell but not the first page...doh
aseop rock dope check eyedea pushing buttons 😊
Nice to see so many people listening to Aesop Rock. His lyrics and metaphors are amazing
Glad to see you do more Aesop. But if you did Daylight, you gotta do Nightlight.
Aes is the top tier of wordsmiths.
Another vote for Dorks as the next track. It’s far more accessible than most of his songs.
I will hang my boots rest when I'm impressed so I triple knotted em and forgot em I was in my early 20s when a good friend turned me on blew me away
Did many sketches graff while listening to the album and many others great then
