Without Michal I would be working my customer support job with no dreams and purpose because I just felt actually getting a design job would be so hard. He makes it seem attainable as long as you do the work which isn't that hard. Now, I'm still working my support job, but I have put together work and am continually working. I was turned down by my current job for a UX position, but I will find another. Thank you, Michal.
That is amazing to hear! Don't worry about initial rejections, it takes a while to realize what exactly your strenghts are and push them forward in a way that engages. Besides, I've seen that poster you did in Sketch, the graphics design skills are definitely there and that can be very helpful with UI's! Are you on our Slack group by the way?
This is the seventh time I struggle in a situation about UX/UI design and you upload a video just in time to solve my issue before I act. I have designed a responsive landing page and I didn’t know what to put in my presentation to impress and after watching this video I know what to do, I took notes while watching it. Once again thanks Master Michal 🙏🏽
Hey, very grateful for all those tips and advices that you give. As a person who is just staring in UX/UI design journey the way you structure the information is actually helpful. Will be coming back to this video when building my portfolio. Thanks again :)

I feel like, apart from some concepts the majority seems to agree on, a lot of things are shifting always.
This is one of the best portfolio videos I have ever watched. Really simple and well communicated. Hoping to have a behance portfolio guideline like this soon from you. Thanks.
Happy to hear that! I'm currently researching what works on behance and already have some insights so likely mid-September we'll have a dribbble/behance video too.

Yeah I've heard the stories about forms not working or going into spam from so many people - it really is a problem worth solving quickly - getting in touch with you is like the reason of the portfolio :) But don't worry, if they were interested it means your skills are market-ready and that means someone else will reach out as well. :)

Thanks for this helpful video! When it comes to placing a case study into a website, what is the best way to do that? Rebuild it live or add in as jpeg screens?
I wonder what do you think about handing off the portfolio as slides with narration? I realized that presenting how do you reach project goals in a short summary makes impress non-design people who review your application 🤔
Hey Michal, I really liked this video but I wish you had gone more in depth on what your actual case studies should look like. Maybe that information is saved for your course? Anyway I just think that since all the focus is ultimately about our work, the video should've focused on presenting our case studies more.
Hello, thank you a lot for this video, it's very helpful! :) I have a question about the situation when in my portfolio I have not only a UI/UX projects, but also a sports/esports designs, photomanipulations, and social media banners. Obviously, UI/UX designs are the most important for me, but I don't want to resign from the others. Which way would be better - show the "categories" on the main page or show a few UI/UX projects on the top and the rest below?
That's always a difficult question - if you're mostly motivated to get a UX/UI job I'd even say combine all the other types of projects into a separate sub-page and call it "other work" with a nice thumbnail - just so it doesn't get too confusing for the recruiters.
This is great advice - I'm going to to remove the contact form from my portfolio site I'm building 👍With the email address, what should to happen when you click on it? Is it best to make it so it copies to clipboard so that the user can easily put it into their preferred email?
Webflow, squarespace and similar are all good - it's worth checking them on a free plan to see what you can do in the template they offer and simply pick one that's the easiest for you to modify :)
If you have a lot to write there then sure - but in most cases it's just a simple 2-sentence intro that can be placed somewhere near the bottom of the main page. Most recruiters care about 2 things - your work and your resume. The rest is extra :)

There are two options that work well: 1. A grid of shots (hi fidelity) showing that you created the final design and there's more than one screen 2. a more human touch with a photo and one or two screens only but it's way harder to pull off

Hi Michal. Thanks for all the advice. I wonder if you do have any portfolio review service which I can buy, except the one Ui feedback session you have on the Gumroad? Or maybe you know any reliable similar service that you could suggest. I feel I really need an expert to look at it and give me a list of all the mistakes I have on mine.
I do free portfolio reviews on this RUclips channel every two weeks - as a livestream. If you follow me here and on Twitter you can submit your portfolio using a form that I share a week before each of the streams - I do the first 10-15 portfolios submitted per session.
@@MalewiczHype Thank you very much. I just followed you on Twitter, and I will def do that. However, is there any one-on-one paid session, so I get more in-depth guidance?
I don't really do 1on1 video sessions at the moment (too much going on) - I do feedback rounds though (very detailed ones) and the one on Gumroad is exactly that - a loooot of comments on what works , what doesn't , why , how to improve etc.

@@MalewiczHype ahh great! thank you:)
Anyone know if bootcamps are worth it ?
Depends on the bootcamp.
What types of bootcamps are actually good
I don’t want to be spending so much and not making a difference
@@MalewiczHype Thank you for your response. I can imagine how busy you are. I will try both then.
You said create a one-page portfolio and don't have any links going to subpages ...but then at the same time you said add thumbnails 🤔
By "one page" I mean you don't need a separate ABOUT ME and CONTACT pages - but yes, case studies need to be separate pages. Sorry for being unclear.
Do you need to code your portfolio for uX design?
Nice video as always malewicz, for someone who is approaching his 3rd year of experience in UX/UI Design, can that person be regarded as junior?
I'd say it can be used as a blanket term for someone who hasn't yet worked (a regular paid job) as a ux/ui designer - no matter the years.
@@MalewiczHype Nice😊
making a logo is not that difficult haha wtf ... keep in mind that anyone looking at it will have a different perspective on taste but creating a logo is not that difficult lol you got multiple ai logo generators even
Thank you for helping me out.
Awesome! :)
