The reason the volume control is placed there is because it's not for the driver, it's for the passenger. The driver can control it from the steering wheel.
yes because everything else is tilted to the driver. Is a nice touch for the passenger, am surprised she had no clue

@@bwmim9709 Had a look around one at the weekend and the placement struck us as odd, as well as the emptiness of the panel. On LHD models it's also on the passenger side.

My neighbour has bought a silver one, 2 WD, 1.5 petrol with 150PS. He paid barely £30K, with a discount and it looks wonderful. It has bags of room for 4 big 190 cm 100kg adults, which is all you want really.
I’m not hugely fussed about the colour on the outside, when the inside is that gorgeous
As an owner of the new Audi Q3,(2019) it is a pleasure to drive this car.
In my honest opinion the Q3 n X1 are fucking boring.
Which one is not than? The XC40? The most overhyped car ever.

Totally agree about the price of non standard paints in premium cars. I think it is the reason more people are purchasing Dacia.
Audi seem to be pushing their pricing too high. Fussy styling details don’t equate to the price premium asked.
I own this current model in tdi 150 bhp Quattro. The main point is that this new Q3 is only 1.5 inches smaller than the Q5, same boot space as Q5 and a better ent system touchscreen than Q5. I would advise S line spec. Currently getting 44.4mpg.
I love this small suv, but I agree - Audi should offer more colors without a surcharge
I agree more standard Colours should be available and a head up drivers display should be Included as well. Great looking SUV particularly In S Line Spec
The Price Is quite a lot after adding options. The Range Rover Evoque Is a great alternative
Apart from it breaking down and having a clunky infotainment system...

It is expense for what it is indeed. Options are definitely way too expensive for the benefit they bring.
Audi wants to extract as much money out of you as possible. With just two standard colours to choose from and any other colour costs extra. I think it is really mean for such premium and expensive car.
CoolHandJoe88 The incremental cost of changing colour is minimal unless they’re building it in a factory with limited paint shop flexibility, adding cost changing colour, and therefore entirely there fault. Hard to imagine Audi manufacturing is so inflexible so I assume it was a sales or marketing decision. Either way it seems like an unnecessary conversation in the sales room. What’s next, paying extra for a fourth wheel?
Decent shape improvement, without doubt, the last few models Audi getting greedy with their options and the overall pricing
Here in Canada that blue is one of the standard colors along with white, black and orange. Also it seems we have more standard feature. All Q3 comes with key less entry and panoramic sunroof.
Interesting when mentioning rivals, they didn't mention the tiguan, which is ostensibly the same car for less money!

I owned the new Tiguan and it's not the same car!! Yes owned, I have an Audi now.
Had mine since March 1st (35TFSI S Line spec), love every second of it and the virtual cockpit is absolutely phenomenal 😃.
Then the extra road tax that has to be paid for going over 40k list. Never here that mentioned a lot of people will get caught out with that. It still applies if buying second hand after a year or two
I Think that the volume at the left side si only for the passenger since the driver as is own on the wheel.
I'd take a top spec CX5 over this.

Yes it’s a good car but people are settling for paying 50k for basically a good runabout and forgetting only 15 years ago that’s more than the average house was. Spend a bit more time and save loads buying second hand. And why are people just accepting that most colours are options ?!

jonny5777 before housing boom. Ok maybe 20 years. When the property market worked perfectly. Average house costing 3 times average salary and any working couple could own a house. Any way 47k seems to much for a family run around with flimsy plastics.
Jon Bushell totally agree mate it’s a crazy price. That’s why I never buy a new car because you never actually own it you just rent it from a finance company. Seems daft to me

Just wondering if Ginny has ever bought a new car lately / where she's sourcing her information from? Haven't heard Ginny complain about the lack of free colours before yet this is common practice throughout the industry. To use the example rivals to the Q3 - Tiguan has 1 free colour - urano grey. The X1 has 1 free colour - white. The Kadjar has 1 free colour - white. The XC40 has 1 free colour - black. The Qashqai (is it really a rival?) has 1 free colour red. The E-Pace has 2 free colours - black and white. And as for the new Evoke - which five colours are free? According to Land Rover only black and white are free.
I believe every colour with SEAT is now free (inc metallics) but of course the list prices went up to compensate - i.e. you're now paying for that once free colour!

HUD really should be standard on all cars nowadays. It really stops you taking your eyes off the road, particularly in Australia where every second intersection has a speed camera.

To be honest most people ain't guna examine for plastic feel or less premium under the seat if you ask me that's nit picking.
Car makers are greedy considering how little they cost to actually manufacture and how much they make on parts down the track, but then again, I don’t care what colour it comes in so long as Ginny is at the wheel.
Does it get more boring than this? God, the new Mercedes GLA can't come soon enough.

Sad to hear the Audi still has a slow reacting gear box. It was the same on an 2012 Audi Q3 I owned. I have seen several tests pointing out the same problem. Not new Q3 for me then!

Most car makers offers two colors as standard, black and white - non-metallic. Or is it different in the UK?
It is an Audi tradition to sell bare units, baiting buyers in. By the time you add enough 'options', Audi are just insane expensive. I've never found them to be worthy cars.
There are 3 standard colours turbo blue, white and orange
Audi's interiors are as pleasant and inviting as the tunnel the coal miners dug under the Chernobyl reactor.
VW has to make up for multi-billion diesel gate losses in the US. No surprise prices go up and quality down. £47K - for fanboys only. Far too many other options on the market to be tempted.

Just got a brand new S line quattro Q3 2.0 L with 20" , sport package and premium plus package (no navigation) ; white .. out the door $40.8k. We will see what do I really thing of it after a year...?
Why the old type of key ignition - where is the remote key start?
It's an injustice to this vehicle by not taking it off road and not letting potential customers to see its capabilities on the trails. Features of any vehicles are available on line , let the salesman do their job and making a sale.

About this car, its better to go for a non-premium brand making Premium cars than this one. You are bound to get more for your money and far more equipment as Standard. eg Hyundai Santa Fe.

There should be more color options, 3 to 4+. The cheap plastic feel you showed really bothered me with the kind of HIGH pricing Audi is charging, esp. when there are comparable competitor in this small SUV category. I'm instead looking at the BMW.

So in the UK you are getting riped off because I can have an Audi Q3 Progressive S-line with the exact same color and wheels. Comes standard with sunroof, keyless , power lift gate etc for 43k Canadian dollars wich is 25k british pounds.
Car bets and boot compartment lights are extra its so stingy
Well said about the price tag. Please work on the versions in Pakistan, as they have reduced the options for us and all models of Audi are market with the fixed upgraded options which also feels the same as you described especially in comparison to their hefty prices.

Over priced, and frankly the Q models are to common, bit like A3/A4 were ten years ago.

A choice of only white or orange is rubbish, they should at least offer black.For what it costs, it doesn't seem very good value.

Typical Audi really. Everything is an added extra and you’re very clearly not paying for them to pay designers, given their cars all look exactly like the model before. For the stated £47k you could buy a new X3 30 Msport, bigger, better to drive, faster, much more as standard and just as posh
Why refer to BMWX1 all the time? Have you driven an BMW X1 with "X-Drive" in winter conditions? I have! It is totally useless! If one cannot use an suv properly during winter conditions the car is simply not good enough.
way too much hard plastics in the interior, doesn’t feel posh at all and the new MMI infotainment sucks.

I believe this car was launched in 2018 in the American market. It's coming 2 years late here in Brazil too.

£47,555 Wow that's way too expensive. It's nearly £50k for a jacked up hatchback.

What's the warranty on the gear box? Styling is over done, it just looks tacky now. Salesmen and the marketing department will have their work cut out trying to shift these.

You highlighted things that competitors already have for less money not sure what this car has to cost so much. Avoid it.
Stupid money for a car like that. I'm on my 3rd, previous model, Q3 which suits my needs perfectly. My current one is a very low mileage, 340bhp, RS which I got for just over £30k. Probably my best car buying decision in around 50 years behind the wheel. New models are hampered by WLTP regulations, high prices and ridiculous VED tax rates if you dare spend more than £40k on your pride and joy. I was looking forward to the new Q3.......disappointing!
Could buy a new x3 for less.
Over promises and under deliverers, not for me especially at that price.
Lol fake vents, these new cars and the marketing tricks, older cars at least had proper simple designs.
