I was privileged as a young organist to take a master class with Manz. I adore his organ preludes and have played them for many years in church services and recitals. He inspired me to be a better organist and better musician.
A perfect collection of wonderful pieces by Paul Manz - wonderful registrations, sensitive playing, and what a great collection of organs on which to hear them!
Die Choralbearbeitung über Nun danket alle Gott ist wundervoll. Ich habe sie letzte Woche zur Einweihung der von Rowan West rekonstruierten Buschorgel in Grundhof gespielt.
Thanks Richard for playing these. I was at his concert in Staunton, VA at Christ Lutheran many years ago and met him. I am not an organist but love good, classical church music. A former choir director / organist played many of his hymn arrangements as introductions to hymns. My favorite is the Cwm Rhondda followed by the Nun danket alle gott. Look forward to Virtual Church tomorrow.
I love it when people have passion to do their best. Richard is one of these people. I always love to hear him play and am so thankful that he shares his great work with all of us! A vert hearty "Thank you"
Years ago we chased from one city to another in the U.S. Midwest to hear Paul Manz perform one of his well-known hymn festivals. Your sharing on your Hauptwerk was a gift bringing back old memories.
As well Paul Manz also gave me the courage to become the best Organist to do his works of compositions; and I wrote one that he let me play it at one of his workshops many years ago and considered myself as one of his honored student and friend as well; miss him already and he was a big influence on me big time!!!
Hello there sir. Appreciating your slower tempos for these hymn settings, as compared to the breakneck tempos that are sometimes played for these pieces.
Thank you for performing these wonderful pieces by Paul Manz...marvelous performance! I had the privilege of attending a number of Dr. Manz hymn improvisation festivals in the late 60s and 70s here in the USA, and a weekend improvisation seminar at his home church (Mount Olive Lutheran) in St. Paul, Minnesota, USA thru my American Guild of Organists regional group. The influence of his teacher/mentor, Flor Peters was so evident in his compositions. Beautiful music! Thank you for sharing your talents, Richard! Blessings to you and Caroline!
This music celebrates the moment this morning in the USA when the announcement that Joseph Robinette Biden won the presidential election came over the news and people in my neighbourhood of Chicago, Illinois, began whistling and cheering at the top of their lungs and banging on pots and pans in exuberance. A highly emotional experience, accompanied by an enormous sense of relief.
It was my honour last year to stand on the very spot at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington where Martin Luther King made his ' I have a Dream' speech in 1963. As soon as the election result came in I couldn't help but shout the words "Free at last! Free at last! Great God Almighty, we are free at last!" . Such a relief and I thank God for it........

Thank you! 😊
Manz inspired me to be a more creative organist. I honor his memory and continue to play his works as well.
This is truly a day to give thanks! Wonderfully played.

Especially liked the Haarlem registration. Caen was lovely, too. Oh heck, they all sound great on each organ you chose!
I LOVE your cuff links !
Absolutely beautiful. Thank you for sharing your artistry! Glory to God 🙏

Looking forward to tonight's Virtual Church, after listening to these superb hymns.
Superb playing, Richard, and you certainly know where most of the gems are, sir!
Beautifly played Richard! And you look like a million bucks today!!

I love the „Zimbelstern“ (what‘s that called in English??) of the Goerlitz Organ. 🤗👍😄
Please play 12 hours of Paul Manz
And toss in a healthy dose of Peeters and a dash of Cherwien.
Beautiful and perfect for this Day 💖 THE DAY a New President takes the Day!..🙏
Please when are you gonna play and share Widor's 5th (Toccata)??
After I developed fins on the back of the toothpick dark I was cleaning king 👑 the bums.
I developed tail Fins in the toothpick
Well done but Manz always played at a much faster tempo. He would consider this performance to be plodding
