I have actually seen documentaries where judges in certain states would send a 15 year-old boy to an adult prison for life. However, many advocates say it's unfair since people's brains don't mature enough until a certain age.
By the time she gets convicted she’ll be 17-18 years old.

Sadly there should be a curfew for those at risk teenagers.
This happened in daytime, but New York DOES have a curfew: if under the age of 17, can't be in public between 11PM and 5AM. Friday and Saturday is 12PM-5AM.

Many young offenders today think because they are minors they should not be held accountable. Come on folks, it would be one thing if it’s a sex trafficked child/sexually abused minor, committing a violent crime in order to escape. I do believe that is different. Yet those types get prosecuted harder than the average violent teen offender. Last 20 years, seen more violent crimes from our youth on others that are unprovoked. Yet you can face jail time for using deadly force to protect yourself/your family experiencing a home invasion, then get sued by the perps.
