- China test-fired an intercontinental ballistic missile into the Pacific Ocean on September 25. This was the first publicly acknowledged test of an ICBM done by Beijing. The Chinese Defence Ministry, in a statement, said that "the ICBM, carrying a dummy warhead, fell into expected sea areas" and also called it a "routine arrangement" in their annual training plan and not directed at any country or target.

Imagine all the Naval bases around your choke-points. Do you sit idly by OR prepare to protect yourself for any possible eventuality, just in case? As I see it, it's not an aggression but just a self-defence move.
The Taiwan & South China Sea issues have existed along time earlier without any tensions between the parties. Many of these Naval bases were set up decades later. To me, it's a trouble maker who is provoking all the tensions using these two issues. That trouble maker is unnecessarily setting up military caucus and alliances & even bringing NATO into this part of the world. It is my fervent hope that sovereign countries who are being made use of by this trouble maker would open their eyes and see through it before it's too late. Wars are no good for anyone. No one wins. Everyone loses. And if anything happens, we will be the biggest losers as it happens in our backyard, not theirs. So Taiwan, Philippines, South Korea, Japan, Singapore: if you have ears, hear; if you have eyes, see!! Just do what is right for you will be judged by History.

Instead of sailing thru the South China Sea, USS Roosevelt slipped into the Sulu Sea. Half the Chinese navy is at sea. Something big is happening.
