- So...I've lived my whole life without experiencing Halloweentown. Yes, I know. I am very sorry. Today I'm setting out to rectify the situation by covering the original Halloweentown film in a video for you guys here. I hope you enjoy it. Thank you to all who requested it as well as my brother who was so disappointed that I had never watched it that he made me promise to make this video.
Halloweentown is, of course, the iconic Halloween film that started the long running franchise of Halloweentown Disney Channel Original Movies. It follows three children as they learn of their family's magical powers and history as a famous family of witches.
Please enjoy me talking about this film and let me know in the comments how truly ridiculous I am for never having seen it before. I love you all and hope you're having a wonderful day in this, the spoopiest time of year. :)
I hate when kids in movies are like:
"I'm [blankity blank] years old! I'm practically an adult! I can make my own decisions!"
I always feel old when that happens because I'm like 💁💁💁

Now you HAVE to do Halloweentown 2: Kalabar's Revenge. It has some of the best and most disturbing imagery I've ever seen (bad guy's 3D face shaped like an egg popping through a brick wall), wow.

Yeah...that's true for a lot of these unfortunately. They have some good moments and some questionable ones for sure.
I remembered watching all 3 Halloweentoens except the 4th Halloweentown because Kimberly brown was replaced by Sara Paxton even though Kimberly was available to b in the 4th Halloweentown & there's so much questions that r never explained
Yeah I'm definitely gonna cover more from the franchise in the future. We all seem mutually confused by it. 😂
When kalabars son was going to come back to get revenge he was never heard from again in Halloweentown high & Sophie was never seen again not even Luke

I remember this movie! And there is a strange, unexplainable, feeling of fondness for it. Is this that nostalgia I hear about? Feels dangerous. Like “spend lots of time and money” dangerous.
Yep, that's nostalgia! It doesn't matter how poorly the movies of your childhood aged...you will always be a tiny bit fond of them. And when someone makes a terrible remake you will want to see it. 😂

One of my favorite childhood movies. This aired on disney channel a lot during the Halloween season on disney channel when I was a kid. I miss those days I feel so old even though I'm only 27

@@AveryTalksAboutStuff we all made it through the first movie with no problem, we tried to go for a double feature with the sequel but after about 30 minutes we were all ready for bed :p

Movies to watch for your enjoyment: The Evil Dead 1981/ Evil Dead 2 1987/ Army of Darkness 1992. All with Bruce Campbell. The third one is one of my favorites!

I wish I watched this as a kid, cause I feel I would've been more charmed by it. I mean it's cute in a cheesy way, but I will say the main character drives me insane cause she has no powers or talent for magic, but keeps boasting like she's the best witch. I wish the youngest was the star, she deserved it better. Also I kinda wish they'd delve more into the mom's reasoning cause it's so bizarre you'd give up a world of literal magic for a mundane life - but I suppose having lived a whole life of mundanity I'd jump on that bus and never come back home.
Also I hated Dylan so much. I hate people who act like they have a wealth of knowledge and speak matter of fact when they're dead wrong about something - it's like the writers wanted me to punt that child down a flight of stairs.
I definitely like the youngest daughter the most. The other two grew on me as I kept watching. My big question is why did Dylan keep ignoring his powers once he had already used them? I get being skeptical when it's first sprung on you but why not use it once the shock wears off. Overall it's a cute fun little movie and the Halloweentown sets are super pretty and look like the ideal place to live.
@@AveryTalksAboutStuff Exactly! It's like, what kid would turn down literal magic powers? He's used it, seen other people use it, he's not even being skeptical he's being willfully ignorant as if he's just 'above' it all. But yes, I'd just jump on that bus in a heart beat.
