That's an excellent point. As disappointing as it is that the Bulls didn't get a draft pick in the deal, OKC didn't need this trade as much as the Bulls did, and could have easily done a deal with someone else.
Yep and Giddey is only 21 and he would be a top 3-5 pick in this draft. OKC could’ve packaged Giddey for someone else and also if they couldn’t find one then Giddey would’ve stayed and accepted his role off the bench
As a Blazers fan, I've been pretty frustrated why it takes soooo long to make any trade at all, with the state of our rebuild and trade-now assets. Meanwhile, Bulls just running a fire sale on their best players, and now I'm rethinking that previous frustration.
It’s not as bad for Chicago as ppl are making it out to be. Giddey is better than 1 or 2 protected picks that could very well be the 27th pick in a bad draft class

If anything, the Bulls should've given picks for Josh Giddey. Giddey is putting up more Points, Rebounds AND Assists in FEWER minutes and a lower usage rate than Caruso. He's also been playing in a different position than he's best suited to since he's sharing the floor with SGA. Josh Giddey is already a better player than Caruso has ever been and he's only got room to get better
Unlike Caruso, Giddey can't shoot, defend, or dribble. His passing is overrated b/c he often gets too fancy and turns the ball over -- in fact he led the team in TOVs for the regular season, even while SGA led the team in assists. He's decent at sideline-out-of-bounds passing and rebounding, and not much else. At least Caruso knows he's a role player. Giddey and his fanboys and fangirls are convinced he's a star.
Unbiased Pels casual here.. Giddey seems like a decent young player. Obviously he doesn't have that mamba mentality like Alex, but Giddey is doing decently under pressue. Only bad thing about Giddey is his weird case
As an OKC fan I think this was a good trade for both sides, Giddey is a good player he struggled this season because of the allegations and also the team progressed so rapidly that his skillset was not as important for us anymore. He turned it back around towards the end of the season and had a great series vs the Pelicans. He’ll thrive being a primary ball handler and he’s only 21 still. He’s an amazing playmaker, can hit a couple 3s a game, can get you rebounds and has a nice floater game. Caruso just fits us a lot better and he was not going to resign with Chicago anyway.
Lets all be honest Josh had good year but bad playoffs is ok cause he young. The huge thing is you hear his name and first thing think of is the allegation.

Giddey has a high upside but he's been inconsistent so at this point he could go either way and not getting a pick to compensate that balance is ridiculous
Giddey is the best player in league below the age of 22 that was available for what you was willing to give up before the draft anyway. Bulls had 0 leverage to get any picks added onto the trade with all the potential and IQ Josh brings as well us needing to get Caruso gone before draft night. It’s a great trade for all parties.
Every one who speaks on this isn’t mentioning the fact that without Lonzo you can’t run White or Ayo at PG to set up the offense. Now we have a true PG, they may see how he plays with team before trading Ball.
Nah not really. That trade was to give them cap space. He was never going to be extended. Presti was just being professional in the way he answered. As usual :)
He might flourish, he should improve, he'll be a few votes short of being an All Star. Trade good for Bulls, good for OKC, good for Giddey, and not sure if this trade will be good for Caruso.
If they took picks, Giddey would be a top 5 pick coming up in this next draft. You’re saying they were better off gambling on someone better. 😂 Gotta love how little people understand about the game
Thank you these guys only saw Giddey this playoffs and judging his whole career off his 3rd season but wanking it off to Caruso like he’s a super star when he’s going to be 31 the trade was even Jesus.
What is the starting lineup going to look like...? Theres no way there going to have giddy and demar on the corut together with vuc (the worst 3 point shooter % wise in the nba). Unless they plan on not resigning demar, this trade makes little to no sense to me at least for next season
Are we pretending Giddey isn't a PG who can't shoot or defend? What is with the coping on this? Giddey and Derozen as a guard duo that can't shoot? You going to have centers guarding your PG? You gonna have Ayo back to playing 15 minutes a game? And they likely want to draft Devin Carter in the draft? This is a terrible trade for a bad NBA player that will play in Australia in a few years. Giddy is not a clutch player. Especially when you need him most in the playoffs. He cant shoot consistently and is a liability on defense. I must say he is a great passer though. Caruso is a much better player overall for any team.
I read somewhere that Caruso`s injury history is why the Thunder didn`t want to include a pick.
Giddey requested a trade with OKC. Maybe other teams wanted Giddey and the Bulls jumped
Seems like the Bulls could have got one of OKC's own 1st round pick as that pick's going to be towards the bottom of the draft for the next 15 years. I didn't realize Alex is 30 already. Seems like just a few years ago he was on a two way contract with the Lakers but time flies.
Bad trade for Chicago. No Giddey
Great trade for them they got size and Zach Levine getting traded soon. Possibly Demar to he's getting old.
@@damianpresha9833 yeah, but they got a actual guard now before white and zo who can’t even play
@@damianpresha9833 They got 0 picks for Caruso. Dummy
@@damianpresha9833 Dude they resigning Demar hahahaha
Giggity
As a Blazers fan, I've been pretty frustrated why it takes soooo long to make any trade at all, with the state of our rebuild and trade-now assets.
Meanwhile, Bulls just running a fire sale on their best players, and now I'm rethinking that previous frustration.
As a OKC fan I thank you guys
It’s not as bad for Chicago as ppl are making it out to be. Giddey is better than 1 or 2 protected picks that could very well be the 27th pick in a bad draft class
I wanted Denver to go for Caruso bec that Bench needs help but OKC trading for him was a game changer for their lineup
Crazy thing is that the Thunder have enough depth, and picks to make a trade for anyone that they want to. They could literally bring in anyone, and still have enough picks left over to completely replenish in a year.
Imagine the thunder getting Zach Edey 😭
@@YoureWrongHeresWhyi don’t think OKC want to have a traditional big starter. Lauri would be perfect because he can do everything and Chet gets to stay at centre. I do think they’ll try get a veteran big whose happy to be on the bench
@@FreeBandz658 Lauri is not the option. Lauri is another scorer, you think they need more scoring outside of Chet JDubb Shai and that rookie? They need players that can stop other stars but gel well with the starting unit well. Hence why they gave up a potential all star for a Vet that can shoot the 3 and guard 1-3
If the Oakland A’s were a NBA team, they’d be the Bulls😂
Caruso just fits us a lot better and he was not going to resign with Chicago anyway.
the epitome of armchair experts
Giddy is a triple double machine good trade get some scorers around him and watch him work
Lets all be honest Josh had good year but bad playoffs is ok cause he young. The huge thing is you hear his name and first thing think of is the allegation.
Yea, but nothing ever came out. Eventually people will forget when he starts balling on the bulls
Just like people forgot what Kobe did to that woman back in the day.
@YoureWrongHeresWhy that's was a little different who don't know the full story what happened with Kobe and she was of age
@@buckeyes5128 She was 17. And unlike Josh Giddey, he went to court which means they believed the girl had a case. Josh had allegations and after that we heard nothing at all, the woman and her family declined to press charges or anything of the sort
*BS allegation
You’re not getting a high first round pick for Alex Caruso. He’s an aging defensive specialist.
And Giddy is better than any late 1st rd pick, right now. At least less of a gamble.
Looks like Bull's management finally realized their fans want more than the play-in, and no way to get past Cavs or Pacers without a rebuild.
Are those the ovhoes 1 on ya feet?
Great for both teams.
Josh Diddy for Caruso: an Offender for a Defender
The Bulls basically acquired AC for exposure. If I were a bulls fan I would be shaking.
Every one who speaks on this isn’t mentioning the fact that without Lonzo you can’t run White or Ayo at PG to set up the offense. Now we have a true PG, they may see how he plays with team before trading Ball.
The Gordon haywards trade, Sam presto went up and said that failed
Nah not really. That trade was to give them cap space. He was never going to be extended. Presti was just being professional in the way he answered. As usual :)
Giddy will flourish and become an All Star
He might flourish, he should improve, he'll be a few votes short of being an All Star. Trade good for Bulls, good for OKC, good for Giddey, and not sure if this trade will be good for Caruso.
with no outside shot, he won’t.
@@Skip-Kilat he's like 17 years old lol he will learn to shoot lol
If they took picks, Giddey would be a top 5 pick coming up in this next draft. You’re saying they were better off gambling on someone better. 😂 Gotta love how little people understand about the game
More Hair - No Hair trade😂😂😂😂😂
The bulls traded a good player for a better player in my opinion. Both teams won the trade
Thank you these guys only saw Giddey this playoffs and judging his whole career off his 3rd season but wanking it off to Caruso like he’s a super star when he’s going to be 31 the trade was even Jesus.
😂😂 Bulls Fleeced Okc come back in 2 years and watch everybody be DRiding
They traded a solid, proven 6th man for an unproven 4th starter that's a lot younger...it's not the worst deal ever...
What’s the legal age in Chicago? Asking for a friend 💀
We (OKC) should go for Laurie Markiden and Heartenstine!!!!
If Vuc is overpay at 20 per, what is jaden McDaniel, jerami grant, cp3 stop it. PWILL tryna get 20 it’s ridiculous
The Jerry rehiesdorf screwed up the AC trade because he wanted to be cheap
He’ll start averaging more pts Reb and Asts if he’s allowed to just play
Bulls missed their timing for everyone on that roster 😂 Giddey should do well though.l
TBD for Chicago. Immediate WIN For OKC!
I’m a okc fan, watched every game giddy can be a 17pts 6reb 8ast average . Glorified Rubio z, No giddy
You give that stat line as if it’s a bad thing?
SAM WILL YOU DO A STATUE OF LIBERTY PLAY ONCE IN A WHILE, SOMETHING YOUR CATCHER CAN MISS!!!
What is the starting lineup going to look like...? Theres no way there going to have giddy and demar on the corut together with vuc (the worst 3 point shooter % wise in the nba). Unless they plan on not resigning demar, this trade makes little to no sense to me at least for next season
First he was Josh Diddy, not that he is in Chicago, call him R Giddey. Keep him away from Whitney Young, the name alone is heaven for him.
He has nothing to do with this but I don't think Nikola Vucevic is that good of a player
I agree
He’s trash
Giddey got a weird case why is he around
Trying to strike a chord, and it’s probably A minorrrrrrrrrrrrrrr🎶
Imagine trading MJ for Karl Malone 💀
Are we pretending Giddey isn't a PG who can't shoot or defend? What is with the coping on this? Giddey and Derozen as a guard duo that can't shoot? You going to have centers guarding your PG? You gonna have Ayo back to playing 15 minutes a game? And they likely want to draft Devin Carter in the draft? This is a terrible trade for a bad NBA player that will play in Australia in a few years. The bulls just sealed themselves into another year of mediocrity, instead of trading Caruso for a top 10 pick in this draft which was offered to them. Horrific trade, horrific player, and I haven't even mentioned Giddey's off court issues
@@blablablaa14 DeRozen won't be there Bulls in complete rebuild DeRozen is either headed to the Lakers or Bucks
@@CoachRJ334lakers & bucks is a stretch but he definitely gone
@@CoachRJ334 The bulls are never in complete rebuild. They only traded Caruso because he was on an expiring deal and wouldn't have resigned. I am telling you the Bulls are committed to the mid

Bulls got a steal we got young players and added another one that's a SCORER WHICH WE NEEDED.WE DIDNT NEED A FAKE DEFENDER AVG 10 off 29 min when we got colby ayo and ball
win win
He better not go to cell block one.
It’s just embarrassing. AKME are terrifble. I’m sure they’re going to get lucrative extensions tomorrow. I know it was in the news. Probably more secret extensions
My OKC is very greedy
Sam Presti isn't done
Bulls going to realize Giddey is when he steps on the court.
The guy is not a bad player, he just isn't a good shooter yet, once he gets that part down, he will be a player you can run an offense through. He does a lot of other things that matter on a court besides shooting at an effective rate
Upgrade for Both.
Giddey & Vuc for Nurk & Beal
Bad trade for bulls...they dont even know what to do with a guy like giddey. If they couldn't even see the talent in lauri markannen I doubt they can see and develop the true potential for giddey.
Giddey less than 18 per date I mean game
Caruso gone after next year anyways may as well get something out of it. Not only that but they aren't gonna win a championship anytime soon so may as well get a young player
Watch your young daughters Josh kiddeys in Chicago
Josh Not like Us!
Chicago was robbed... Al Capone is back??
no seriously great deal for OKC.
Jesus Christ loves you ❤
Amen brother 🙏
OKC clearly won this trade
Bad trade idk why teams keep sleeping on the Caruso the bald eagles potential
presti is the goat
Giddey has insane vision and basketball smarts. If he can improve his 3pt shot 3-5% he will be a walking triple double.
Another Bulls Mistake... we got Josh Diddey 🎉
Giddey is way better than Caruso💯
White Boi though
What are OKC actually going to do with all their picks? They've got a contending starting 5 and a deep bechh, and they don't seem to be a team that wants to go deep into the tax. Are they going to be drafting in the top 10 and having them as the 13th man?
Kyle kuzma or lauri markannen will be on okc by the end of the offseason
What’s wrong with that? Every other team can’t fathom it. Thunder are rich and they can do whatever tf they want. If teams want to make deals they’ll have to deal with OKC
Josh Giddey is not good. But they need a point. Shouldve got picks too.
