I’m not a Subaru guy, I don’t really align with that community. But I have a forester for work - my company gave it to me. And I’ll admit, they really build these things solid. Routine maintenance and they’ll last forever. Only thing that’d concern me is the CVT transmission
All you have to do is go against Subaru of Americas recommendation and get the CVT fluid changed, ideally every 30k, minimum every 60k mls. That is what Subaru of Europe and Japan recommend.
I personally own a 2014 Forester with the CVT transmission. 141,xxx miles and it is the worst car I've ever owned. Burns oil like you wouldn't believe, the transmission whines, suspension squeaks and many more problems. I do regular oil changes on it, I'm the 2nd owner, owned it for about a year and a half and 15,000 miles. It's been nothing but pure trouble. So much trouble in fact that I'm planning on trading it in and getting rid of it, its one of those cars that if the dealer pays you $5,000 for it, you take it and run.
@@coolcarz-nf5tji don’t think that’s the cars fault.. that sounds like a lack of maintenance from previous owners.. and most cars with over 120k miles will have their quirks, it’s just a thing to deal with, with high mileage cars
@@coolcarz-nf5tj mines a 2020 and has had some issues but Subaru took care of it all under warranty. About 90k miles now. I know the oil burning is a big thing with the boxer, but I will say, while Subarus are expected to run longer without big maintenance, 10 years and 140k miles is a good bit. Not abnormal to have issues at that point if the prior owner didn’t stay on maintenance
I can give you a little insight from the Retail Dealer World on this one. Most of these banks aren't willing to work with anyone to try and avoid repos then, you also have people that have given vehicles back and the banks are not picking them up. I had a customer that has been in an open 13BK with a vehicle that was ordered surrendered nearly a year and a half ago and, it is still sitting in his front yard. These banks have taken so many repos they are just sitting in impound lots everywhere before they even make it to where you are seeing them. A few of my bank reps stated that lenders were holding these so that they could manage their P&L a little better and not just dumping their repos like they have in years past. Its going to be a bit of a bumpy ride for a bit but, I think the worst of it is behind us.
i became a mechanic 40 years ago to never make a car payment has worked flawlessly,i figure i've saved at least 200k not buying these plastic cups with engines in them, remember this, a 1965 toaster still cooks bread if it works, mine does
I got low mile basic cars at Iaa and Copart for cheap. i have a nice ranger truck i have been driving for 11 years. I have 6,500 in it. my friend just offered me 4,500 for it.
It's pretty clear to me that this economy has been in recession for quite a while, I don't care what the government's numbers say. Not only are repos up a bunch, but dealer inventories are at stupidly all time highs. The car market is going to be lit for buyers early next year, I suspect.
The 2024 gmc pickup i think it was with 20,000 plus miles. Either drove the heck out of it or was a previous rental idk cause i have a 2024 Toyota bought with 22000 n change miles im a little over 23,000 on it now.. was a previous enterprise rental. But runs great. I would not purchased a former rental car past 18000 23000 miles personally cause we all know how people beat the ever living crap out of a rental car cause it isnt there's. Thankfully i own mine outright and i feel horrible for people losing iobs or can't find work etc coming from me just coming out of many years work comp case and gotta get back to work doing something I can still physically do. I feel for you all.
Same for leased cars “ it’s not mine don’t care attitude “ why do you think the dealers started offering free oil changes 2 times a year??? To keep that engine in good shape, that’s why Pathetic, people can’t even change their oil every 3 months , car full of garbage cause they are too lazy to clean it out… never wanna buy a ride used from people like that.. if their cars neglected and trashed inside, what’s their house look like inside?? Skanks
saltwater flood cars are much more problematic than freshwater flood cars. Saltwater instantly corrodes electronics and exposed bare metal. I heard there were around 15,000 flood cars being auctioned here in Florida. Several years ago I bought a low freshwater flooded 1 year old Corolla from a salvage rebuilder. They changed all fluids and cleaned it up well, was fine for a few months then the transmission went out. They included a warranty and replaced the transmission and I drove it 100k miles. Good luck with the Cobra.
That white Hertz charger it’s possible that was a 3rd party fleet car as well I had something similar as a company car through Enterprise where my company leased the cars from Enterprise Fleet the car (a Prius) was never a rental I got mine new with 50mi I put over 30K on it in almost 2yrs I took it home everyday could use it in a limited capacity for personal use I was responsible for taking it in for service to the dealer or whatever appropriate service provider expenses and roadside assistance was covered by Enterprise Fleet I also had a fuel card but that was covered by my employer I had a similar pass for the local car wash place as well through my employer our cars were usually inspected by our supervisors once a month when I left the company my car was more than likely passed to someone else who’s car was either returned on end of lease (usually around 40-50K) or was damaged/totaled
This was a great video as always i enjoyed this alot and man thats alot of vehicles it sucks that people has gotten their car repossessed i hate it for em their credit is now runied due to a repo. Anyways thanks for sharing keep up the great work much love to ya randy have a good one take care god bless and i will see ya on the next one

My daughter and her now ex-boyfriend paid too much in '22 for an '18 Ram 1500. After they broke up he abandoned it, even had his name taken off of the loan, since he'd lost his job and no longer had the means to pay for it. So now she and I have taken over loan payments to avoid a repo, which would have destroyed her credit rating with nothing to show for it. It was the lesser of two evils. It's a nice truck, though, I enjoy driving it.
My pride kept me from the repossession fairy 🧚🏾♂️. If I had to do OT and work 2 jobs and put my tax return towards my payments I did it. 😊. It was hard and a struggle but I paid it off on time. Lesson learned? A big big down payment for a new car 🚗. Or just buy used.
Back in the good old days :) If you had problems making your payments, they would work with you untill you got on your feet.. At least pay the interest, but now.. nope..
Ford Motor Credit allows you to skip up to 3 months. They add them to the back end. I skipped 2 months when ny unemployment ran out and my social security benefits kicked in. Still, my car will be paid off in January.

That Chevy SUV is not a Trax, but the much better Trailblazer AWD. That means it has the 9 speed trans, instead of the CVT wet belt. Obviously, the ex owner had a huge dog that chewed through the seats. Some people just don't take care of their vehicles because they know they have no intention of honoring the bank loans. As always, a fun walk around.
I had a Chevy Vega wagon repoed. It was such a piece of sh…..t. It looked great. I bought some GT wheels and GT emblems. That didn’t help the terrible engine. I owed over $4 k when they took it. It took another 3 years to pay it off. Lesson learned.
I’m upside down on my 2014 explorer I financed $17k for it I’ve got the loan down to $12k but the car is only worth $1,500 because it has 192,000 miles I almost had it repossessed last month but I got it all taken care of bank took my paychecks from me every week until I got caught up.

If you have taken your cars to this auction site, and they were in good condition non-damaged, who would be responsible for the hail damage? If the consignor had insurance, I guess the insurance company would right it off, pay out the claimant, and then put it back into the auction with hail damage. The insurance company would be the looser here. If it was not insured, would the auction house be responsible for the damage as they did not provide protection form the hail. Either way the hail damage will make the vehicle MUCH less desirable, and will reduce the auction value considerably.
#replaycrew I've a question about a car's spirit, so to say. Is it really true that when a car has been in an accident, then repaired. Does a car really lose its spirit after being wrecked? Just trying to confirm what the ole timers told me as a kid.
