    The square ones (No Name Chinese Motorola Rip Off) are so crap that they don't even sound the same,they were like 3-4 euro bucks for 4 of them.
    They are all junk,those squares are WAY more controllable than the other ones,but the rectangles (Audiophony) are WAY better in quality,though they are overpowering even the most sensitive PA Woofer with the high frequencies,they would be good with an L-Pad.

    The original Motorola piezoelectric speaker product line (tooling, process including final sound pressure testing is still producing speakers of the same performance. Piezo Source Inc., San Jose, CA purchased the Motorola piezo speaker production line from CTS in 2005. There are many copies but only one original Motorola production line.

    Hello. I haven't heard any pyle or goodwood but some of the best quality are the original motorola piezos that you can get used from speakers used in the 80's.

    Ouch. Using multiple piezos without using a crossover above 8 kHz brings out the worst case scenerio.

      Funny thing is that i've used this thing as an alarm siren and this is what i had made it for but turned out being crappy even for that.

    @DJYM919 They already have some other Piezos with LEDs inside,but they are performing the same.
    I only use Piezos as decorating objects in many things and for notification beepers,etc,nothing that has to do with Audio Equipment,so an LED inside wont be a bad idea at all.

    Question: I had speakers like these, 12 or 15 inch of Eminence, and each had a tweeter like these. I loved them but lost those speakers. I liked them a lot. So I went looking for the parts to maybe built them back better.
    They were built in like 95-98. So I was looking around, found Monacor MPT tweeters (looks _exactly_ like what I had), googled MPT-005 and ended up in this video.
    So my question is, are the Monacor possibly what was in those speakers? I see Motorola mentioned in the comments, should I look for new old stock of those to recreate them (I would like to use a smaller driver instead of the Eminence though, eyeing TF0510 and TF0615 though maybe TF0818)? Would I be better off getting some compression drivers and avoiding the Monacor like the plague?
    Before you say "but musically", they were mainly used for the pc, Battlefield 2, Arma 1. Nowadays I play almost only L4D2, Red Orchestra 2 and Eve Online, and some other stuff (Metro). I sometimes do have music on when coding but not loud, mostly Callas which I imagine would not sound the greatest, though maybe it would be okay. The crappy desktop Logitech I have now is junk, and I remember sound placement being a lot better with the larger speakers, hearing where something is and all. Might make 4 anyway so 2 are in the back.

    For a start Piezo tweeters are supposed to be used with a resistor in series to reduce very high frequencies and protect from overload. This is the second video in a row I've seen where they've been made to look bad without that being done!

    • @iceberg789
      @iceberg789 6 лет назад

      in series or in parallel ?

    • @davidwoodbridge862
      @davidwoodbridge862 5 лет назад

      @@iceberg789 In some commercial examples I've seen both a series cap and series resistor used (together) and while the resistor component has nothing to do with "reducing high frequencies" it does lower the volume a little so sounds better balanced.

    lol you need to run those any piezo horn from a woofer on 2 sides with atleast 50 watts a side to get them to sound right

  • @TimpBizkit
    @TimpBizkit 13 лет назад

    The square ones with the 6 ridges are quite good but vary a lot in sensitivity and tonality depending on where you get them. The good square ones are like £5 each but it's worth the extra. The rectangular ones have poor horn design and are inefficient and lacking in top end.

    What tells you how loud a speaker is SENSITIVITY, INPEDENCE, OHMS, OR HZ please help me

    • @truebassB
      @truebassB  5 лет назад +1

      It's only the sensitivity, all the rest are almost irrelevant. For example a speaker with sensitivity of 80db with 1w at 1 meter needs 10w to output 90db, whereas a speaker with 90db sensitivity only needs 1w to output the same sound pressure level. Impedance to the final user is only a matter of matching speakers to an amplifier. Hertz only tell you the frequency response of the speaker, but even that is fishy as you can only tell what a speaker is like by looking at a frequency response chart without any smoothing applied.

      @@truebassB can this be explained more simple

    • @truebassB
      @truebassB  5 лет назад

      @@TheMessenger212 Yes... It's the sensitivity that matters, more DB (sensitivity) = more loud (with the same watts).
