Commenting just to say thanks for this guide. And many others. And the SMP discount code. All have been really helpful and appreciated. Just one addition - I did this swap but had no error readings (sor far) or need to code. Indicators were a straight swap. I did use CREE lamps from ABD, which may have made the difference. Keep up the good work, the channel is gold to mini owners!
Just added these turn signal bulbs to my 14 MCS with LED headlights. They worked right away in hazard mode without coding. I wonder if it's because I still have factory halogen tail lights. Each side circuit still shows enough resistance with the halogen tails to not cause any errors. I will see how the rest of the week goes, worst case I will do the coding. Great vid!
Brilliant. I tried this before and couldn't find the bulb to remove. It's not in the same place as my f60. Definitely a much better look than stock bulbs. I also concur about the lamp fitting being a bit odd. I lost my bulb too but not inside the indicator.
Hi Ben, hope your well, I have a suggestion rather than just change the bulbs 💡 why not go one step further and install the Mini OEM F55/F56 LCI full Led headlights with full circle ⭕️ drls but when you indicate drl change to a circle ⭕️ on LED headlights but can you also show the kit I just have the boring halogens where my R56 had Xenon headlights and I’m looking to do this in future 😃
So my 15 f56 and 17 f57 USA neither one have cold and warm monitoring options on bimmercode, is it expert mode somewhere? I only have led or halogen bulb options, which still throws the bulb malfunction light.
Hey Ben! I just downloaded the bimmer app. It’s asking me what OBD adapters I have. It’s 100 of them lol.. which one do I purchase? I have a 3rd gen non sport mini hatchback .. 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Hello mate I’ve just gone through this process (only really because I had a blown bulb and thought why not get some flashy LED ones) which then lead to getting the obd etc…and now the right hand side indicator does work but very faintly unlike the left…any ideas??
In Regard to Bimmercode, is it necesaary to purchase the full version in order to use the adaptor? I tried to off the start/stop option but the app asked to pay the full version. I appreciate your comments
Hey 👋 I’ve seen some good videos over on the F56 Owners Club UK Facebook group of people who have done a res delete on a 1.5T. You get some decent pops out of jt.
Another question 😱, do you know if is it possible to change the bulbs to led for the original (not Union Jack) tail lights? If so, what are the part numbers? Thank you
Hey! With mine you can't as they're LED but I'm sure you can if you have the halogen alternative. And yeah, I dropped the bulb inside the housing, completely my fault as I hadn't inserted the bulb correctly. If you do it I'd make sure you push the bulb in all the way.
@@BenRolfe I also have led headlights but I’m not in that scenario where I have to switch my bulbs out, I just haven’t seen a video out there that showcases how to replace an led oem bulb
Ben, you have some of the best F56 DIY videos on YT. Thanks!

your ability to do this while filming is impressive
Thank you!

Ben, can the fog bulbs be changed to LED packs without changing the entire assembly?

I see the JCW PRO splitters are on 👀
Yeaaaa, where did you get that splitters???

Hey Ben, did you modify the JCW Pro front splitter to fit Cooper S bumper?
Hey, I did! I’ll be covering it in another video, not an installation but I’ll show what it looks like.
@@BenRolfe That's cool! I’m going to do the same thing! Looking forward to the video
Hey Ben, are the lamps still working? Just to know if the last?
Hey! They’re still working ☺️
I don’t seem to have the walm/ cold monitor just led option. Thoughts ?
Hey! That’s correct, it changed to an LED retrofit option now to simplify the process.
I’m guessing this won’t work with the lamp type just set to LED? I wanted to keep the monitoring elements on
Unfortunately not as the car will still monitor the voltage and will potentially throw an error
Thank you for this video Ben!

The free version only gives you select access on features, which features these are I’m not exactly sure. I’d 100% recommend buying the full version.
do canbus bulbs need coding in aswell
YASSSS IVE BEEN WAITNG ON DOING THIS
Ben, any idea what a res delete will do to a 2018 1.5T. Can’t find anything on it.

Hi Ben, did you have a chance to look at my comment? 😊
@@MrStratus2010 this is easily do-able, all the bulbs in the rear are 328 (P21W) bulbs
Can you replace the headlight bulb that way as well through that opening ?
You also mentioned the bulb dropped into the housing?

Where did you get your code reader from?
Hey! I got mine from SMPS2012
Ok cool 👍
