+Bonnie Reddy Exactly how I have been feeling for quite awhile. I've kept saying we need to bring this era up in today's...the Jubilee Years...! We desperately need this energy(s) in today's music...such as DC Talk, Petra, Twilla Paris, Mike Warnke, Wayne Watson, CARMAN & so many many more! How the music rejuvenated, uplifted, motivated our Souls. It literally caused an explosion of ppl returning to Churches, bldg huge sanctuaries & schools. It was something to see happening, but more to be a part of. We need a Revival in The (this) Land (which is title to one of Carman's songs)...thus we need to pull this Era...Jubilee Era up into the present day. Every time I listen to my old tapes/cd's of my christian music...I Am amazed at how my Spirit feels like its going to burst from my chest...like a GREAT BIG "YEEESSSSS!!!" Feel like I've been in a Spiritual desert since this music died....killed(?) out. Mike Warnke was one of the best Christian Comedians & helped to bring God 'n Christ to a more realistic & fun relationship. Yeeeuuupp those were the Years! I so miss 'em too, Bonnie. I saw this great Christian Band in Branson at the amusement park. Our youth group had a "connection" somehow through our youth pastor and we were in the 9th back center stage. I remember this whole thing about tuning up the cowbell and the deep bass singer has a solo of shorts. Only 15 at the time, but found out Christian music could sound good. Though I have to admit when Stryper came out, as a rock-n-roll kind of guy, they hooked me.

a VERY long time ago, I remember The Imperials coming to our church. The bass singer slept at our house!!! I was like 7.... I remember this super, awesome, cool dude coming to our house and playing gospel music with the bass turned up real loud. It was AWESOME to me. I don't remember his name but, I remember the guy!!!!!
I had this entire performance on 8-track lol Loved it all. This one and Bread Upon The Water were, and still are, my favorite! Jim Murray at his best imo

Wow, same hear. I remember my first album and my first concert by them. When I would sing the songs myself, only the young people responded. Parents set there kinda like I do today when my daughter plays some of the stuff she does. I am still open better than parents were then but I still like to hear quartet music too.

I heard some songs like "let the wind blow and because of who you are" in Spanish...are too good but the voices and music sound with the Imperials are too much better...GBY Dante.
I'm sure you are a sweet Christian lady. I don't want to discourage you at all but I'd like to kindly remind you that with the measure that you judge you will be judged with that same measure. From time to time in my life I run into people that criticize the ministry that the Lord has equipped me to perform. It has been a while but just know that if you are right in what you posted, great for you, you are a prophet. If you are wrong you are speaking against something that is the Lord's work. You could be critical of any church or ministry that you would like. If it has people in it, it is flawed but God still working in it honoring the sharing of the Gospel. The Lord has used the flawed Imperials to add 1000s upon 1000s upon 1000s to His church. God knows. He will sort it all out. Sincerely, blessings upon you!

Sail on was the album that got me excited about Christian Music. Imperials was the first concert I ever went to.
It was the first Christian concert I went to also.
Sail On was my first Christian album. Won it on the local Christian radio station. My favorite group of all time. Saw them many times in concert.
Saw them at a church in PBC. I was very young. Great memories
Saw the guys at kingsway Christian church over 40 years ago in avon, in. This brings back a ton of memories. They were so good live.

They came to ours too! I was so young, now I am almost 50 years old now. 😅
I miss the 80s. Fortunate to have grown up during this decade.
