Did he lose his eye recently or something? One eyed people not having depth perception is technically inaccurate. You only have issues with it when being used to having two eyes and then losing one, with time, even with just one eye, you learn to discern depth.
U-Chan sounds a little different from what I remember 😂 I'm guessing Hoederer has bad depth perception cause of his eye patch, probably shouldn't count on him catching you
