      Any chance you could supply the macro you used in "Attributes and Abilities" to have the button accessible in the top left corner when you click on your token? Thanks in advance.

      @@OneCritWonder I was able to locate a fix. Post it from the character sheet - then press "up arrow" which will auto populate the chatbox. I copied and pasted into the "Attributes and Abilities" block. Like you did with your "Rapier" button. Thank you though for responding!

      Awesome and straightforward video! Here is a macro I would also appreciate your help with if possible: I have a Bugbear Soulknife Rogue who has access to both Sneak Attack AND Surprise Attack since the latter is a racial trait. As per RAW, the first Psychic Psychic Blade attack is 1d6 damage but the second attack is 1d4 damage. How would you handle this in terms of macros?

  • @stevedaigle3242

    Dude, that prompted sneak attack macro was exactly what I was looking for, Thanks. That macro combined with the query advantage option makes my character sheet virtually unnecessary. I'm playing a Fighter/Rogue so the SA is an issue for every attack.

      Awesome, glad to hear it was helpful. If you can think of anything else you'd like or have any other questions don't hesitate to ask.
      I'm the same way, I try to run as much of the game as I can from buttons and token options rather than needing to open up my sheet and fuss around with it.

      @@OneCritWonder does this macro work if you multiclass? It pulls the information from the character level what happens if you are 3 levels fighter 3 levels rogue?

    • @OneCritWonder
      @OneCritWonder  3 года назад +1

      @@jamessisler5475 Roll20 tracks each of your classes with a different value. If you start as a rogue and then take other classes this macros works as is... if you start as something else you'll need to change out the class level call with the multiclass call. I can get the exact text if you need.

    Great video! Some issues that I am currently having with Roll 20 are adding Elven Accuracy feat to my attack rolls as well as I would like to see my attack rolls before I decide whether or not to apply sneak attack. It seems similar concept to the Paladin smite video you did.

    • @OneCritWonder
      @OneCritWonder  4 года назад +1

      I can certainly take a look at what it would take next time I'm at my computer.

    • @OneCritWonder
      @OneCritWonder  3 года назад

      Looking at Elven Accuracy I'm not sure if it's worth attempting to automate as the amount of queries and stuff to click would likely take longer than just rerolling the die of your choice. But what exactly would you be looking for out of a macro for it?
      As for Sneak Attack you can make a macro that's just for the Sneak Attack which queries if you crit and then outputs the proper damage. Doing so would let you see the results of the attack and damage first before choosing to fire off sneak attack.

    • @cohortus
      @cohortus 3 года назад

      @@OneCritWonder Yeah, that's a good work around with Elven Accuracy and a lot easier than trying to make a macro. Ah, yeah that would work for sneak attack.

    Cool ty for this looking for one that is a spellbook for any type of caster and it reads the sheets spells so if they change it will as well and not tied to the character name so I can universally use it depending on why token I highlight that has spells

    • @OneCritWonder
      @OneCritWonder  4 года назад

      I'm not quite sure I understand what you're after.
      You want a single macro that pulls everything from any character sheet and can be used for every type of caster but also scales with level...?
      Not sure thats even doable and would be a hell of a macro text block. Clarify what you're after though because I might just be misunderstanding

    Hey great help with this :D. I was wondering, how do you add an additional question box for a raging barbarian to add their rage damage as well?

    • @OneCritWonder
      @OneCritWonder  2 года назад

      You could add it as an additional query if you wanted or you could just make a Global Damage Modifier for Rage that you turn on when you start and click off when it ends.
      That way you're not stuck saying No to a query over and over when you're not actively raging.

  • @sammorris1906

    Nicely done. I should do some readng up on how to work the Roll20 macros more. I wonder though, because it separates out the SA damage and the weapon damage, do you really need the prompt version? If you are in a situation where it doesn't apply, you only need to take the weapon damage forward, ignoring the roll for SA. Is there some other automation that would rely on you rolling the specific dice needed, for example automatically applying damage to a target? Otherwise, personally I'm fine with it rolling all the dice all the time. It's not like you're having to do anything extra, in fact you're eliminating a step not having to select yes/no.

    • @OneCritWonder
      @OneCritWonder  4 года назад

      Valid point for sure, same as how I always have Roll Advantage on and ignore the second number.
      Some people don't want to roll the unneeded dice or want to be able to scroll up in the log, or whatever so I provide them the option. I try to keep that in mind instead of just making videos for how I play.
      Myself, would probably just have it always on and call off to the DM just the weapon damage.
      Thanks for the input!

    • @sammorris1906
      @sammorris1906 4 года назад

      @@OneCritWonder Yeah, I guess that's fair. It does make sense if you wanted to go back and check the numbers a few rounds after the fact. Less mental gymnastics trying to figure out if you actually applied it or not.

    • @OneCritWonder
      @OneCritWonder  4 года назад

      @@sammorris1906 Yeah exactly.
      Some people also dont want to see that "that would have been max damage" so they disable the auto roll damage etc and I imagine that might apply here as well.
