- Jamie Hughes is arguably the UK's most high achieving angler. We join him at the lovely Weston Pools for a chat about his life in angling. Jamie explains his roots in the sport, talks about his meteoric rise to fame, and discusses some of angling's most contentious topics...
Filmed BEFORE the Covid-19 pandemic.
A fantastic in conversational video Tom. Jamie comes across as a very humble, thinking angler that deserves total respect for his outlook on angling.
What a total honest and humble guy..without doubt the best commercial angler in recent times. And could quite easily if asked fish for England now ...yes he's that good.
Great interview Tom.
Absolutely phenomenal chat video Jamie. Keep them coming Jamie tight lines for the future mate, { Brilliant } Viewing,
"just go fishing and enjoy it" too right.!
Brilliant video, really good
questions.
Thanks.
This is hands down the best angling interview I have ever watched. There are some really good and interesting topics discussed. i completely get his point regarding match fishing and the ‘necessity’ for competition, taking something away from the actual fishing. I find myself falling into that mindset and I have fished nowhere near the amount he has, or at the level he has.
That was absolutely brilliant. Open and honest answers from the greatest angler around. Keep these videos coming please lads. 5 star entertainment 👍
Can't believe I've only just watched this lol, great video...cheers
Thanks Tom great interview Jamie is a brilliant angler to aspire to. Great story to follow. Even now I still aim to improve myself and the hunger never fades. Top class Jamie I admire the mentality, dedication and commitment.
Absolutely brilliant any one young or old or in the middle can take something from this interview no matter what style or level of angling you do.

Jamie Hughes the legend 👍
Jamie is such a nice chap, great video Tom.
simply brilliant !
well said jamie i used to match fish i was average to crap but loved it then i just started to get bored with it ,lugging half ton of gear using the same type of tactics and bait and style as every one else ,and the lads with more time to practice would always win ,after dragging my gear back to the car on a soaking wet cold day everything covered in sh//,,and seeing others puffing and panting up this slope ,i thought ,,no,im not enjoying this any more,,, and i know a lot of others are not ether ,so i stopped fishing for about 6 months, then i found my old center pin ,got a 15 ft rod a few bits and bobs landing net bait ,and off i went to a river ,,and all the fun and enjoyment came flooding back to when i was a young lad ,and now i fish rivers canals ponds lakes and on rare occasions com,s but i love it now ,good look jamie in future matches but you have not forgotten your routs and one day you will be running a stick for roach chub and dace it never leaves you ,,you have to leave it,,,
For me the best thinking angler in commercial fishing. Great interview well done Tom.
Fair play for going the RUclips route!
Superb well done Jamie
Some names from the past there. Did a season in the winter league with Willaston myself & was playing darts against Pete Price the other week!

Great angler without any doubt. However, I have recently contacted Jamie regarding a coaching day and he has not, for what ever reason got back to me. Bit disappointing really....
