Lovely chair and spotted a colourful cushion. If the cover comes off when raining then it will be ok.unless material waterproof. Maybe a couple of hanging baskets. A few solar lights💚

Think you need a bigger boat, maybe a wide beam, as gardens and non-folding chairs all take space, but of course nice to have around in the summer sun.
Laura, I am like you, starting jobs and not finishing them. Your chair is a tad big, so sell it and buy a smaller chair and a little round table so that you can sit out with drinkies. I watch another narrowboater, The Mindful Narrowboat and she has put seeds into the rope fender on the front. Her most recent video shows a beautiful narrowboat that has a beautiful garden. The Nauty Nomad is very plant orientated so you could get some ideas from him too. I am glad you got to see the Northern Lights, there is too much light pollution by me so I didnt see anything.
I really like that chair it looks extra cozy! If it didnt take up so much space it would be a definite keeper if you had a cover to keep it dry. Thats the main problem with outdoor cloth chairs. Left out in the weather they inevitably start to mold and mildew. Id have a hard time letting that one go bc it looks good too but i know you need space for your garden. Either way im pumped to see your summer updates, especially the plants! And don't sweat the projects. I, and I think most people,procrastinate, start and stop, etc. Just do it at whatever pace feels right itll get done. Cheers til next time!
The chair looks great! Matches your chosen colour of the foredeck! A tip I have learned when assembling furniture like that is to use glue on the screw threads to keep them from loosening up too quickly. I'm a sail boater in the states. Narrow boating looks to be something fun to try on holiday.

your paint job still has fared well laura, Sometimes it can be just the quality of the paint, have a look at the automotive side of things, Factan for rust treament, and Por15 , which is much better than hammerite. Its expensive stuff, but it will last a hell of a lot longer. Dintrol or how its spelt, is good for under coverings on car chassis, so again something that you cannot see, it will protect it if it gets wet. Also sort of mat would go nice under the chair, also don't worry about storing the chair, just invest in a tarp for it, just like you would use for a patio set.
I think you do amazingly well - I'm way too chaotic to cope with constant mucky jobs - but I'm very happy watching others do it 😁 Thanks for sharing 😊 oh and I also have a garden chair (big beanbag) which I love but is very impractical to store - oops 😬 🤣
your masking of the bow, is not the right tape. and the way you extract the tape is not flowing in the take off, its all in the technique wax on wax off.

Solar lights for sure! I have an umbrella from lowes that has them built in with the panel on top.
