Ahhhh I love the original 90’s BBW’s so much! I graduated in 1991 and I remember going in and shopping. I’ve shopped off and on since then and have really started collecting since Covid hit. I remember the kids section they used to have. My daughter loved to go in and pick out something special. Now I have my 4 year old granddaughter loving all the scents 😂 I love that you throw in some history of BBW. Hardly anyone on RUclips does that and I really enjoy it!
Me too! My mom was always into beauty products, so I was introduced to BBW before I can even remember. 🥰 I feel like when COVID hit, the self care community/collectors started to thrive. Now that everyone was staying in more, we needed to up our showering game! 😋 Aww they used to really go all out for the kids stuff. I wish they would do it again! That's so sweet your grandaughter loves it now...passing on the legacy haha! The history is one of the main reason I love BBW, so I'm glad you enjoyed it too!
apparently, the line they had for kids was called “art stuff”. they look really cool. also melissa i have a similar discovery with bath and body works. im assuming that my mom got into bath and body works probably whenever they opened up the first store in south jersey (not sure which one that would be and when lol, probably the 90s) but i was born in 2002. so technically bath and body works has always been a thing to me. like i remember the hand soaps from the 2000’s when i was a kid and i also remember when japanese cherry blossom was new in 2006. i always enjoyed the scents of the hand soaps my mom bought lol. and the candles too and stuff. then at some point in elementary school (like idk, 1st-3rd grade?) i started to use their hand sanitizers. eventually, i started picking out my own shower gels and hand sanitizers when we went to the store (maybe when i was a tween or something like that) and yeah lol so i never really had to discover it because my mom was and still is into it

I remember we had an almost sleepover but if I remember correctly we just ate Qdoba, sat on the floor, and waited a while...didn't they come rescue us pretty fast that time? 😅 After a while we started acting like we were used to it! They sent pizza & snacks delivered to us!! Plus, we could drink the soda that we sold up front at the registers. It was like a sleep-over! 💤😴

That's cool you could have access to the drinks too! It does kinda sound fun, especially knowing you get paid to be there. One of the nights the gate broke, it was broken only about a foot or two away from the floor. BBW gives the store "fill the fridge" money once in a while if we make sales plans or during holiday seasons and we hadn't spent it yet, so the store manager let us take that money and get food, but we needed to stay close and return immediately. So we had to GI Joe crawl on the floor to get out and just grabbed burritos from Qdoba and watched about half of a movie before we had to deal with being on the emergency hotline again LOL! Another time, the associate that stayed with me got her knitting stuff dropped off by her husband so she got a lot of good work done on her project while we "bonded" hahaha!
The face mask sleepover party story was hilarious hahaha I’m trying to picture that and it looks like something that could fit in a sitcom or comedy movie 😂

Hi Caitlin, thanks for your question! 😊 Here's my rule of thumb when it comes to finding products at the cheapest possible price at BBW. Eventually, everything goes 75% off at some point. Depending on your location, items may sell out before they get to that point but 75% off is historically the company's "final sale." So if you aren't feeling particular about certain scents and don't mind the options being pretty random and you just want the bargain, I would wait for semi annual sale when they put up a table or two of 75% off. Aside from that, from November until Christmas, every single weekend during that time frame the company features a product and puts it on it's lowest price of the year. I've looked at the calendars of the last 3 years and roughly, this is how it goes (each of these being a Saturday leading up to Black Friday: - Single Wicks - Wallflowers - Body Lotion - Hand Soap or Single Wicks again - Weekend of Black Friday, they usually put candles, hand soaps, and some type of body care all on sale First Saturday of December is the best 3 Wick Candle sale. And the second Saturday of December is the best Body Care sale. Again, this is all just from looking at previous calendars in history and they do switch up dates, featured products, and prices each time. If I see hand soaps or wallflowers go $3.50 or less, then buy them. If body care goes $5 or less, buy them. If 3 wick candles go less than $14, buy them! Those are the rules I gave to myself! 😁 I hope this helps! 🛒

Thank you so much, Asha! 🥺😊 I appreciate it! That's a great question! It's important that if you need to dispose of a product, unless it's soap or body wash, don't dump it down the drain. The most Eco-friendly thing to do is 1. Give it to friends/family/donate it/give it to your workplace for them to keep in the bathroom. Women's shelters love to get BBW products. 2. If the bottle is half full or more, even if it's super old, you can exchange it for something you'd rather have at BBW. BBW has a hazard waste bucket that they use to safely dispose of things like perfume, body sprays, wallflowers, and sanitizers. 3. Contact your local recycling center and get information about how they want you to safely dispose of beauty products, some towns have programs to pick that kind of stuff up 4. If you can't pawn it off or get rid of it in one of those ways, the best thing to do would be to cap it, tightly seal it, or put it in another tight container and throw it in the trash can. I hope this helps! 🥰
As long as they are unopened, the fine fragrance mists usually don't expire. I have some from 2015 and older that have been opened and still smell like when I bought them. Good rule of thumb if you are ever unsure though is to check the quality 2-3 years after opening, and if it seems compromised (smells funny, discoloration, separation...mainly seen in moisturizers) then you can make a choice. I've used compromised products before and nothing bad happened to me! 😅 But anything that is alcohol-based like wallflowers, perfumes, sprays, etc should live well beyond that. I hope this helps! 😊
Oh and by the way, if you want to check how old a product is, there should be a black printed number on the bottom of your bottle (not the sticker.) (or if it's a product in a body cream shaped tube it should be engraved on the flat part of the top, on the backside. The first digit of that number represents the year, and the next three digits represent which day in the year. For example I have a fragrance mist that has the number 9150K2A2. The 9 means 2019, and the 150 is the 150th day of the year which is May 30th. 😊
I have two theories on this: 1. They are playing dumb so that they don't give you confidential information (most inside scoop regarding new upcoming fragrances is confidential until the official BBW website or BBW social media pages make it public.) 2. They genuinely just don't know because their store hasn't gotten it yet, they aren't managers and don't work that often or are new, etc. Most of the time as an employee I felt annoyed that the majority of the internet knew more than me about upcoming sales, products, and news through leaked information. On the other hand, I have also noticed more recently that a lot of employees aren't as invested as the customers and fans and actually don't ever look at the online shop or research about BBW. Which to me is crazy because employees of a place should know more than the people asking them for help! 🤦♀️😅 I guess it just depends who the person is working that day!

Of course! It depends on the store, but I think I had to throw away the most product during the Winter holiday season because there is a huge increase in traffic and amount of product in the store. Also the floorsets change the most frequently during this time of year so higher chance of breaking stuff and making more testers which eventually get thrown out.
I’ve spent the night at bbw many times doing resets at various stores and nope i wasn’t a manager-got $20 per hour in early 2000s for doing it too…..pretty sure my manager broke lots of rules. Hated her she was evil
Well...I've gotten it organized enough now that when I open the closet door, soaps no longer fly out and hit me in the face...😅 But yeah, it's bigger than the average person's collection I'd say. But, I've seen others with bigger collections than mine online too! 😋 My very first RUclips video was decluttering my BBW body care collection, and then my highest viewed video on my channel is a reprise of decluttering my BBW body care again, so if you want to see the size of it or what I have you can look at those. 💙

Whenever I ask an associate about a new fragrance that’s out most of the time say they haven’t Hurd of it or know the one I mean
